This is a cool industrial style coffee shop. I walked over from my hotel after going to a concert the night before. I was in need of a little bit of quiet time and some caffeine. There is seating in the front alcove as you walk in, but it was a little loud for me. I opted to grab a stool at a window bar to sip my latte and wake up. There are options for crafter espresso drinks as well as pour over coffee. I got my usual, a vanilla latte. It was well made, and I enjoyed it. I'd never been to an Intelligentsia Coffee shop before, but after this experience I will search them out just for another chai latte with oat milk! Location is in Hollywood and it can be dicey with all the craziness of the walk of fame and unhoused folks. That being said, we dropped in on a Sunday afternoon to grab a hot bevvy after seeing a show at The Pantages. We both ordered the chai latte with oat milk, and hachi machi it was DELICIOUS. I've had many a chai latte before but this was hands down the creamiest, most perfectly spiced chai I've ever had. 20/10 would recommend! My experience here was pretty bad!! I did not expect for the barista to grab his hair with hands and make other adjustments without even heading to the sink to wash his hands!! You're preparing food!!! Wash your hands, especially after rubbing your hands thru your hair!! Either you don't care, or your employees need a visit from the local health department! Terrible experience on my first visit. I had high expectations for this coffee shop, but it was a complete disappointment. My iced Americano was dull and weak so much so that I ended up going to Starbucks afterward just to get a proper one that actually hit the spot. The worst part, though, was the ham and cheese sandwich. It was served cold, and no one even offered to heat it up. I took one bite and instantly regretted it. I asked if it could be warmed, but was told no since I had already taken a bite which is understandable, but honestly, it should've been served warm in the first place. To make things worse, it was clearly a leftover from the day before. At 7 a.m., it's pretty obvious when something isn't fresh. I did get a refund, which I appreciate, but I definitely won't be back. read more

Smack dab in the center of gritty Hollywood Blvd. is Intelligentsia and I had to think "what Dummy put this nice place here?' None the less I needed a bathroom break and a coffee shop seemed like a perfect respite. Upon asking, the bathroom lock code was expertly whispered. I found the restrooms just like the lobby sleek modern and very clean. The cursory purchase was a smart soda of some sort I chose lemon lime. The can promised it was not only wholesome but beneficial to my well-being. My cash was declined so a credit card it was for a simple can of soda. The soda was $5 bucks. So who's not so Intelligentsia now. I decided to sit and enjoy said well-being soda and a request for the Wifi pass word was expertly whispered. I've been using Intelligentsia black cat espresso at home for a while now so I was really excited to try a latte from their own coffee shop. The coffee shop was clean and very open, definitely a lot of space to work or hangout. They have a lot of merch too, so you can bring home coffee or espresso beans (I recommend it!). Ive seen Intelligentsia in Whole Foods for quite some time and wasn't blown away with what I've purchased so I was a bit apprehensive visiting their coffee shop on Hollywood Blvd. the store sits on the corner with tons of windows in the modern decor. It's very clean inside and the baristas were incredibly friendly. The pastries looked a little blah to be honest so I didn't bother trying one. I looked through the specialty drink section of the menu and found the Avena Latte very interesting with oat milk, orange peel, ginger, vanilla and cinnamon but I'm not about that cayenne pepper so I ordered one without it. DAYUMMM was this a good drink! The cinnamon hits first then a taste that reminds me of panna cotta comes through with mild flavors of ginger are left on the tongue. This is a destination coffee for me and I will forever stop at Intelligentsia coffee to have it. I gave it four stars for the lackluster pasty selection but perhaps I'll try one and see if it changes my mind. Maybe there's more to the food menu than I realize? read more

Good coffee although I was dining in and wish they would have put the Lattes in a nice cozy mug. The presentation of the pastries in a bag and coffee in a cardboard cup could be better. I was making a few laps on Hollywood Blvd when I suddenly had a thirst. I was looking for somewhere, anywhere really to grab a quick beverage when all of a sudden, Intelligentsia appeared before me. It looked like the perfect spot, so I made my way inside to check out their selection. The Intelligentsia name was not foreign to me, as they have locations in several major metropolitan markets; I also remember seeing the name while browsing Yelp since they have a location in Manhattan. Walking in, I was pleasantly surprised to see a spacious interior with a large ordering counter, an open production area, and ample space to sit. They have mostly everything one would expect from a coffee shop, and since it was hot out I was looking at their cold tea selections. An iced black tea sounded perfect, and indeed it hit the spot. Service was friendly, and overall this was a welcome reprieve from the hustle and bustle of the boulevard. read more

The aesthetic is very modern and minimalist, which is nice and comfortable, especially in the summer heat (well air conditioned). The menu is simple but plentiful. My mom is relatively picky about her espressos and cappuccinos and she loved her cappuccino. I ordered an iced oat matcha latte with a dash of sweetener and it was great.
