Went for a routine (synthetic) oil change. I also had minor car trouble, steering wheel shaking as I drove fast, and wanted to confirm the cause. Parked in lot and presented car keys at the front desk. I chose to wait in, maybe I should not. It took a long time because it was weekend and they had a lineup of customers and cars already in line. After close to 2 hours the synthetic oil change was done. Before that, repair man called me in to garage where my car was hoisted up, and he confirmed that nothing else is wrong with my car, but he peeled back tires and could see the inside was scratched up. Long story short, only tire rotation and 2 new front tires were needed. It was good to have clarification. Overall, a solid local-owned auto shop.

Last week, I went to get my state inspection check again. The reason why I went to that place even though I'm not comfortable regarding honesty, but it usually takes about 1 hour for the service to finish. Anyway, coming back to the story, I changed my car wiper blades right before I went for inspection, however, they told me one of my wiper blades needs replacement, my tail light is not working again, and one of my tires needs replacement. You know what they did, someone pulled part of the blade off of the wiper, it looks like it broken. I can keep writing my experience, but to sum up, this place, Adam Auto Shop, is not an honest place for anyone to go. I always believe business quality and reputation is number 1, but this place doesn't think that.

The symptoms were very unusual--the screen would go black at certain vehicle speeds and when using the turn signals, while the radio and other functions continued to work. Michael and Jared took the time to listen carefully to the history of the problem and immediately recognized that it could be related to the aftermarket backup camera interface rather than the factory CUE system itself. Within minutes they identified that the camera interface settings had been changed, likely after a battery replacement, and corrected the configuration. The problem was resolved immediately. What impressed me most was that they didn't try to sell me unnecessary parts or repairs. They quickly diagnosed the actual cause, fixed it, and didn't even charge me for their time. That level of honesty, knowledge, and customer service is hard to find. My plan was to take it over to Curry's in Gainesville, VA - I've been reading and hearing good things about Curry's. So of course the battery is dead - but not a surprise given how long the car has been sitting. So I called AAA - they had someone over within 45 minutes to give me a jump. Guy from Eddies Towing came over, used one of those portable devices to jump me and I was set. I let the car idle for a few minutes to help charge the battery. I started to drive over to Curry's - got about half way there - and stupid me decides that I should probably be driving with my headlights on. So I turn them on. That causes the car to shut down immediately and of course it won't start up again. I call AAA back and explain the situation - they decide to tow me the rest of the way - so the same guy is sent back from Eddies (I waited about 40 minutes - he was out on another call).
