Always a great pleasure visiting Irma's, the food is always on point the service is very welcoming. You can't go wrong with the options here, everything looks delicious and the price is very reasonable. I try to go here before noon to beat the morning foot traffic on the BART and streets. But I always leave here with a cantaloupe drink and a bag of small lumpia's.

Tosilog (Tocino, garlic rice, and two eggs). Didn't taste any garlic in rice. Tocino a bit too sweet. Eggs are good!

Maybe I just ordered wrong last time because I recently ordered some food from Irma's and it hits. The chicken adobo rice plate was good. Not too salty either which is good because Filipino food can be a tad salty sometimes. Lumpia Shanghai was yummy and maybe because of the condensation due to delivery, it wasn't as crunchy as I like. BUT I like their price point. $55 for 100 pieces of Lumpia Shanghai! STFD! So guess what I did?! I got a party tray of these for a work potluck. It did cost extra to get it DoorDash to me, but I don't have time to pick up stuff all over town on a work day. Especially multiple trays of goodies from different places. If you do, then this is even a better deal! The LS came in an aluminum tray. Perfectly crispy and yummy. They were a HIT! And gone when you blinked twice! Located on 16th St and S. Van Ness

What came first the chicken legs or the eggs in SF?

The Mission Revisited Edition: On 16th street in the neighborhood I grew up in there are all kinds of food. There are a diverse amount of restaurants from many different countries. One place on 16th street and South Van Ness has been serving food of the Philippines in San Francisco for over a decade since the 1990's . This is the true original places to grab Filipino food in the Mission and offers lots different dishes. Inside Irma's Pampanga Restaurant on 16th street you will see a few tables. The layout to order food feels like a cafeteria/ buffet with different items to choose . You will see BBQ skewers , Sisig, and other dishes of the Philippines. I had the pork and the chicken adobo. The pork was delicious and tender. The chicken was moist and well marinated. The sauce was savory and blended well with the garlic rice to give it great flavor. I also had the Shanghai Lumpia which was a little crispy but scrumptious. This place keeps it consistent. The area in the Mission District is diverse but the majority of cafes and restaurants are"Latino" they have many different types of cafes in the Mission that serves espresso, lattes, and "cappuccino "and one of restaurants which has good food is Irma's which serves food that is "Filipino" with dishes with pancit, garlic rice , and" tocino" On 16th street in the Mission is where I spent my "teens " walking by past the street "fiends " where I enjoyed eating at different types of restaurant "cuisines" and enjoyed going to Irma's Pampanga serving the flavors of the "Philippines"

This place is a true hole in the wall and it was delicious. It's totally no frills, but they have pictures of the different foods and a little setup so you can see what you're choosing. The food was delicious and very inexpensive. There were some places to sit and it wasn't too far from the BART. I don't remember what i ordered, but i absolutely devoured it. felt authentic!

Service is kind and quick. Got the 2 entree item + lumpia. The pompano sinigang was good, light on flavor. Wish it was just hotter in temperature though. Dinuguan was good but kind of sweet, we prefer more vinegar-ish tasting. Adobo was soft and tender but also was on the sweet side. Pork sisig was good, always a good option. Lumpia was good but kind of felt heavy on oil.

We order here quite often for hospital parties coz it's near our work. and this time just looking at It I knew there's something wrong, it looks like it was re fried...it's super oily and looked burnt. I ordered this from doordash, I called the store and complained and what they wanted me to do is to bring the food to the store and they will replaced or refund it. I said there's a reason why i ordered thru doordash because I cannot leave. the lady then suggested to bring it after my work. There's no point of arguing coz clearly the lady is not getting. we are long time customer of this store, we got bad lumpia and terrible customer service. Will not order here anymore

Finally, a Filipino restaurant in the city, and it's pretty good! Especially if a Kapampangan is the cook! Sarap, I'll be coming back. Salamat po!

Ordered lunch through door dash! They were really quick on this order, which is probably why I'm not too happy about big chunks of pancit being too hard to eat. The pancit has good flavor but it's giving day old vibes. Got a feeling it's not fresh today. Lumpia's are delicious! Crispy , hot and fresh. Was hoping for sweet chili sauce but received sweet and sour instead. Not too big of an issue. The bbq chicken on a stick is my favorite! Just wished it wasn't colder than everything else on the plate.

Good, fair price. Love eating here because it reminds me of home. Lots of different food offerings - so much to try

    Raquel M.

Food is really good there, great prices as well. Only thing bad about this place is they are very unfriendly. I try to smile and compliment them while I order but I can't get a smile, a hello or a thank you out of them. Makes it a little awkward. I get they work around a lot of dope fiends , and quite a few characters, but normal people do go in there and should be treated a little bit better when they are supporting their business and spending money there.

Recommend Lola's Pork Lumpia- loved the lumpia and it was definitely elevated with the apple and lettuce wrap. Thin Cut Pork BBQ stick- traditional favorite. Delta Asparagus Ensalada- doesn't look like the traditional filipino dish but gave major nostolgic flavors. Eh. American Wagyu Tartar- nothing special. The milk bread was good. American Wagyu Wellington Lobster noodle- the tiniest pieces of meat in here. You don't even get any. I tasted no meat. Sisig fried rice- where was the meat in here? There were a few big chunks of straight fat. Ube colada- the pineapple does give it a little tart flavor and you couldn't taste the ube. You saw the purple but the tartness of the pineapple was strong 7000 island ice tea- apparently the sarsi makes it minty.

I ordered the virgin Ube-Colada. It was a beautiful purple color, refreshing, and lighter on the coconut flavor than I expected. The Sisig Fried Rice definitely isn't Chinese-style fried rice, which was fine with me because I wanted to try something different. Unfortunately, I wasn't a big fan of the flavor or the crispy bits of pork. I guess I fail as an honorary Filipino. The pork lumpia spring roll, however, was very good. And then came the standout star of my meal: the Wagyu dumplings. The waiter used a mini blow torch to heat the Wagyu - that certainly got my attention. These were unlike any dumplings I had eaten before. Two large, very thin slices of Wagyu beef were served in a flavorful tomato-based broth with wonderfully soft, pillowy potato dumplings containing a rich, almost creamy center. I would order these again without hesitation. My waitress was very sweet and welcoming, which I especially appreciated since I was dining by myself. I had an early reservation when the restaurant was still fairly quiet, but the tables filled up after I arrived, so I recommend making a reservation. One useful tip for finding the restaurant: look for the entrance down the stairs marked Kimpton. Enter through that door, and the restaurant is on your right. Not everything I tried was for me, but that's part of the fun of trying a cuisine you're less familiar with. I came away with a new favorite--the Wagyu dumplings--and appreciated the warm hospitality.

All that was missing was the hella big wooden spoon and fork. J/k! And, hospitality was on-point from the lone Latina server. She was so sweet. The food? OOF. Mestiza serves Filipino Fusion Cuisine and is very vegan friendly. Beer, wine, and low abv soju-based cocktails available. I've enjoyed the food at their OG location on Bryant so I don't know if it was a very off day and/or they changed the recipes....because the food completely missed the mark. * Steak Fries w/ sinigang spice ($7) One of the two highlights of our meal, the fries were hot and crunchy. The sinigang spice just tasted like regular salt tho...no tang. * Lechon Bites w/ toyomansi glaze, atchara ($14): https://tinyurl.com/4k9j97am Bummed that this didn't look like older pics of actual "lechon" (fried pork belly cubes). It was more like pork jerky - dry and tough with a thickish, salty soy and calamansi glaze. * Bistek Silog Steak w/ garlic rice, jammy egg ($36): https://tinyurl.com/4crrrh7m - Requested medium rare The plating was beautiful and they nailed the steak's medium-rare temp. The star of the dish tho? The garlic rice - perfectly savory, fragrant, and packed with garlicky flavor. The sirloin (I think) was a let down. It seemed like it was sliced with the grain, making it hella chewy. The signature salty-sour flavor was quite mellow. As for the eggs, they were more medium-well than the jammy. * Pancit Canton w/ seasonal veggies (Side-$8) Great plating and huge portion for the price. Unfortunately, the noodles lacked both chew and flavor. As I was packing up the leftovers, I noticed a pool of soy sauce at the bottom of the container. It seemed like the hot noodles + veggies where tossed with the sauce instead of properly stir-frying everything together. * Super Green Laing w/ collards, kale, cabbage, and taro ($7) Again, I appreciate the generous portion for the price but even for Pinoy Fusion, it didn't remind me of laing. It came across more like a miso soup with greens thrown in. The broth was cloudy and started to separate as it sat, and it was missing the rich, creamy coconut flavor that I usually expect from laing. S E R V I C E Warm, welcoming, and attentive. My partner absolutely loved it and thought it was an amazing value. If you're a fan of crispy, fried comfort food, this is definitely a satisfying meal. For me, though, it was a bit too greasy, and the seasoning tasted heavier than I personally prefer.
