Iron bar is hard to differentiate from many other bars on the square in Morristown. Waitresses/bar staff with low cut tops, decent drinks, just don't ask anything that requires ingredients that don't come from a tap or gun. No complaints, just nothing outstanding to speak of. read more

First time coming to this place and overall having a good time through the night having a few shots and beers. End up going from the basement level bar to the first floor bar and continue ordering more drinks. As we're ordering a bouncer is escorting a patron out without trying to make room or anything. Not to mention the fact he has no distinguishing marker that he is security other than the brand of the bar that's along one side of his chest vertically that you wouldn't be able to see because he's against the patron shoving him out. Buddy of mine just grabs the guy (bouncer) by the shoulder and turns him asking what's the issue cause from our perspective we're simply seeing a guy getting shoved around by a bigger dude, guy immediately pushes his hand off points at him and from that another bouncer approaches my friend. Checks his ID and escorts him out, we of course follow not knowing yet why he's escorting him. He ends up saying we all need to leave now and wouldn't give a reason. When asked about the firm of security they work for was given no answer. Same thing for the security in question when i asked for his name. Not bad... This is another typical Morristown bar. It's another one where the bar is really long and there's seating parallel to the bar and just a strip of space in between so to get from one end to the other, you have to get to know everyone intimately and basically crawl up on strangers to make your way through. read more

This was my first time to the place, and in contrary to the reviews, I: 1. Did not find any racism 2. Did not find any rudeness from staff 3. Did not need to wait for any unreasonable duration for any refill 4. Did not find any disrespectful behavior from any Bar-tending Ladies 5. Did not see anything rash from the Bouncers' Instead, I found this place very accommodating and friendly. The staff, bouncers and the bar-tenders were at their best. After 4 or 5 times being here, I can say this is probably my favorite bar in town. Consistently good experiences. Most recently, I had dinner with 2 friends on a Tuesday during happy hour. Surprised at how good the food was. My portobello burger on focaccia was awesome with a nice portion of sweet potato fries, can't ask for much more at $10. Decent beer selection. My friend's Yuengling draft did not taste right (maybe this had something to do with them loosing power during the hurricane and the lines needed to be flushed?), but the bartender gave him another draft at no charge. On the weekends, it does get packed. Mostly a spillover of the Sona crowd since the lines here are slightly shorter. But you will never have a problem getting a seat at the bar mid-week. Great place for happy hour during the week. The bartenders are very attentive (I believe we had Brandon last time who was awesome). The place is super clean, great service, good quality of food on the menu, nice selection of music. However it is a complete 180 at night. The bar becomes a bumping club with two levels. Every time I go, whether it's at night on the weekend (always packed and jumping) or during the week for lunch, I'm impressed. I've never seen a place be as bipolar as this one! Amazing food and great beer. Try the steak tacos and ahi tuna platter. Quiet and comfortable when you want it to be, crazy and packed when it should be. Simple as that. Plus the staff is great, friendly and happy to serve you. Not to mention I've personally talked to the owner who is always walking around whether the place is busy or not making sure everyone is happy. The atmosphere here is nice, the place has awesome potential! But...the staff not so much. I'm bot sure if our waitress was overwhelmed training someone, but she kept forgetting to bring us everything; from menus, utensils, and didn't even offer to refill our drinks. The waitress she was training was not introduced, which was a bit awkward so we just referred to her as "the shadow.." We weren't too impressed with the food either. Horrible - Bartender was a nasty girl for no reason. Then we witnessed something really racist. Well as we are standing at the bar on Sunday 9-27-15. We witnessed a black guy and a white girl get turned away because the black guy was wearing Timbs. Wellll 5 minutes after that a white guy who was not nearly dressed as nice as the black guy was let in with the dirtiest Timbs, wrinkled jeans a flannel shirt. When we approached the bouncer and asked why, his answer blew us away ... He said he let the white guy in because he was a cop and a "good guy". So that really nice dressed black man with brand new timbs on was not a "good guy". I can't believe what I witnessed when I went in there Saturday I see a couple you can tell they were young in front of us on the line they give the bouncer their ids and they all pass them around and the bouncers said they weren't good. After that the boy offers the bouncers 100$ and I see the bouncers think about it then on of the bouncers pull him aside takes the money and lets them both in. Iron Bar is so much fun on the weekends except for when DJ Purari is there. He remixes every single song you can't even enjoy it. Every remix sounds the same. All of the other DJs at iron bar are great besides this one. His music sucks and after a while we and my friends get bored of it and go to grasshopper because they ALWAYS have good music.
