Quite possibly the worst burger I've ever had. The French fries were over salted and the cheese product was absolutely disgusting. The salt was too much and I couldn't eat more than a few. The burger was flavorless which I didn't even know was possible. The bun was a strange strong sourdough like flavor, I think? Incredibly greasy as well. The tomato, lettuce and pickles were the best part of the whole meal in my opinion. I may have left 3 stars, but unfortunately I've been sick since eating that meal. Tried out this place Saturday afternoon and it was absolutely delicious! I got the Irv's original roadside burger Brady's way - which has fries in it YUM - and it was probably one of the best burgers I've had in a while. Ordered some chili cheese fries too which were a little on the saltier side for me but overall still tasted really good. Even for a Saturday the food came out pretty quick and the people were really nice. I would suggest if you're eating there to go further down to other tables bc the seating area near them has a lot of flies and bees around but they can't help that - the food is too good. One of the best burgers I've had so far. I usually get sauce and cheese only when I eat burgers, but I was encouraged to try one with everything. The burger was very thick and crisp at the edges, and the lettuce and tomatoes were very juicy and crunchy. I'm a tall person with big hands, I think people of normal size would have to hold this burger with two hands. No other franchise has such perfect, crispy veggies that give the burger such a satisfying crunch. They also use a sauce similar to Thousand Island. It compliments all of the juices very well. I also tried the fries. They were hands down the best fries ever. They have a special seasoning that makes them different and superior when compared to any other fry. Great for eating on a beach day. If I had an Irv's in my area, I would never eat In-N-Out (one of my favorite establishments) ever again. 5/5 stars. read more

I rarely write reviews but I had to offer my experience to my fellow Yelpers. I've been to Irv's in Malibu a few times each time enjoying a great meal and shake. I've had the BTL sandwich (combo style which includes fries and a drink). BTL's are my second favorite sandwich right behind a grilled cheese (hint, hint Irv's). The BLT was delicious and made right, meaning the bread was grilled well, enough bacon to satisfy and the lettuce and tomatoes fresh. Word of warning, Irv's has a spin on the bread for the BLT serving it on rye but I'm a white bread girl and they happily changed out the bread for me- THANK YOU!. The second trip was with my 2 young nieces. I had the burger, and my nieces had a burger and hot dog. We all loved our food (even for one of my nieces who is a picky eater). The fries were crisp and seasoned well and the shakes are really good too (I've had the vanilla and the Oreo). The other great thing is the location. There is outdoor seating that allows you to bring the pooch and a back area that has two sections. One a place to sit and relax and the other a playground for the kids. Making the location ideal for families with young children to play and eat. Overall this is a great place to come for good food at a great price. High five Irv's, high five- I'll be back. read more
