I've been on my quest to try every Baltimore pizza-serving place I can find. Isabella's was my next stop and it didn't disappoint. As the name of the quaint cafe implies, pizza and paninis are its specialties. I'd say the brick oven pizza is good, but the brick oven sandwiches are better. I came here excited about Isabella's pizza, but I left being excited about their sandwiches for when I come back next time. Isabella's is right smack in the middle of Little Italy. Parking, if you can find it, is street parking with a 3 hour time limit. Seating at Isabella's is few, but that probably won't deter me from coming again. read more

Pleasant and quick service. Limited seating (about 4 tables and 11 seats) Good food. Tried the Cooch which was excellent. It consists a mix of flavorful Italian meats (Capicollo, Soppressata, Porchetta) and Gouda Cheese. The sandwich is complemented by Roasted Peppers and then the Balsamic Dressing gives it a final kick. Also had the Aria (chicken, mushrooms and pesto) which was good but the chicken was a touch dry and the sandwich needed a little more of a kick (like the Cooch with the balsamic dressing) Topped off with San Pellegrino at $2 a pop. Would definitely recommend the Cooch. Will be back. Lots more sandwiches to try. read more

Service was great and the guy who took my order was super personable. My disappointment lied with my sandwich - The Scooch. The six inch version of this creation was nearly nine bucks and for that, I was expecting a sandwich that I could get my hands around. What I got mostly was bread. The contents of this brick oven sandwich were sparse - really sparse. Warm or not, it definitely wasn't worth the hype or the price. For years, I've been going to another local Italian institution located on Paca St. and although they haven't provided the best Italian-style sandwich I've ever had, I at least never felt ripped off. A small Italian hoagie, exactly the same size as The Scooch, is $3.50. It's not sickeningly overstuffed, but it's undoubtedly more substantial than The Scooch, at less than half the price! Yeah, Paca St. ain't Little Italy, but c'mon... I would definitely give Isabella's another try - but not for their sandwiches. read more

I have heard about this place for a bit now but had not had a chance to try it until tonight. I found myself staying late at work this evening and decided that I wanted pizza for dinner. The first time I came here I had their pizza. The second time I came, I had two subs: ICC and a Verde. The taste is impeccable--pure Italian-American. If you are in the mood for a nice thinner crust pizza with gourmet flavor, Isabella's is hard to beat. The subs while not overstuffed is made with premium meat and cheeses, vegetables fresh or freshly made, and the bread....the bread is top notch--slightly crusty, soft, and substantial. The staff is friendly. The atmosphere is cute and quaint. For such a small shop, they pack a lot of punch here. You can buy your supplies, like meats, olives, premade heat'n'eat stuff as well as order food for there or to go. The dining area is small, seating about 12-15. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. You come to Isabella's because you value quality, however, if you are looking for quantity for your buck, then you may want to try somewhere else. I was in Baltimore from Austin TX for just one night and this place was very close to my hotel and had great reviews, so I decided to try it out. The man on the cash register was very friendly and helpful, and my pizza was out in about 5 minutes. The pizza itself was delicious -- I just got a plain ol' pepperoni. The chocolate cannoli was OK, but I'm not a huge fan of cannoli, so I don't know how it ranks. Fantastic pizza, awesome people, very cool place. read more

This place is GOOD! 5 stars because not only is the food delicious, but the owner (?) was totally awesome. He suggested that because we hadn't been there, to make a meal of "antipasti". Personable guy and great suggestion. My cousin, boyfriend, and I decided to split a little of everything - mmmmmmm. We started with artichoke hearts, marinated mushrooms, and broccoli rabe. The artichoke hearts and mushrooms were to die for. and we fought over the last of them. Unfortunately, the rabe was too spicy and bitter, but a small misstep. Next we split a porchetta sandwich - roasted pork (ham, really), great mozzarella, on delicious bread. We also got two arancini, which were pretty good - risotto balls with sausage in the middle. We topped it all off with a cannoli...so good. We are definitely going back next time we're in B'more. read more

Delicious pizza! Their spicy hot pepper pizza is some of the best that I've had. I think there's parmesan under the regular cheese? Whatever it is, it makes the pie taste fabulous. Generous amounts of cheese and sauce and a nice chewy crust. I wish the large was bigger. read more

Isabella's is a solid takeout option. There are only a few tables in a small space inside but the food really makes up for this. I got the 10 inch Margherita pizza and really appreciated that the crust was crunchy throughout each slice and hit the spot. I also got a greek salad and was surprised by the large portions that they give. Parking can be an issue since there's only street parking. read more

I ordered Isabella's using the order up app. I ordered around 7:30 and it was to my place a little after 8. Tracking on the app showed the food was done by about 7:45 and picked up. They're fast in Isabella's! Using order up isn't ideal because the drivers can actually pick up more than just your order and deliver those before you. I actually think that happened to me, so even though I had my food in about 30 minutes, I think it could have been even faster and I was the second stop on the route. I got a discount code for using the order up app and decided to try a small pizza and a small sub to get a taste of different items on the menu. I got a 10 inch pepperoni pizza. The pizza was better than ordering dominos or papa johns but I wasn't blown away. I actually think it could have been better if I had gone to Isabella's to eat. By the time I got it, the pizza was warm, but by no means hot. The crust was much thicker and chewier than I expected it to be for brick oven. I got the 6 inch scooch sub. The sub had pretty good flavor. The balsamic dressing they use on it made some of the bread a little soggy. Again, I think it might have been better had I eaten there. Overall, the pizza and subs are pretty good. I think they're on the pricier side compared to other deals you can get. I think if I were to order Isabella's again I would pick it up myself or eat in the restaurant! read more

Delicious meatball sub. Interesting Greek salad that included marinated mushrooms. The broccoli rabe was very bitter, more so than any I've had before. This is a quaint little place in Little Italy with a friendly staff who are eager to help you: ) This place has a look and feel of a local hangout place - saw a few guys lounging in the patio - shooting the s**t. They were still lounging when I was leaving too - after my meal! I ordered Cheesesteak Italiano and a side of Basil Tomato Mazzarella salad. The cheese was a bit too dry for my liking - must have been sitting there for sometime now :( The Cheesesteak was pretty good - meat was cooked almost medium well. I would have loved medium but I had not asked for it so I cannot complain. I live in New York, but have family in Baltimore, so when we went out for pizza, I was apprehensive. I mean how good can pizza be in Baltimore? Well, it can be awesome. This place is very unassuming. It's in the "Little Italy" neighborhood and the pizza is AMAZING. The crust in particular, is just some of the best I've had. The service was friendly too. mini cannolis!! so good. they fill them with fresh cream to order. i went back the week after just to get 12 cannolis- the chocolate dipped ones are good if you like chocolate, but i like the traditional ones better the white pizza- AMAZING! and we tried margherita half and half with sausage (couldnt do half of king richard like we wanted to try because they are different sauces apparently) but they let us add sausage to one side would recommend eating there or eating RIGHT AWAY! because we waited to get back to our place and we could tell that it wouldve been even better had we eaten them right away the white pizza though.. seriously SO AMAZING! so much flavor! cant wait to go back read more

The vinni with Mozzarella and Tomato Sauce, Chicken and Hots was a real letdown. The chicken was dry and flavorless. On the entire pizza one bite, bite, not slice, had hots on it. My husband and I ventured outside our normal pizza for delivery this past week and we were not disappointed ! We ended up with a margarita pizza and a side of meatballs! And oh my goodness! The meatballs and the sauce was unlike anything I've had before. It was a perfect combination and I wish we ordered more. Our pizza did arrive a little cold (but hey that's what happens when you go through a delivery app), but we just threw it in the oven for a little! It was glorious. I have been to Isabella's numerous times now and I can't believe I have never reviewed this wonderful establishment. It has been wonderful now that my office has moved from Downtown to Harbor East. I come to Isabella's probably once every two weeks. I have also ordered Isabella's for delivery through OrderUp! a bunch of times as well. They are consistently awesome. Their pizza is always cooked perfectly and sometimes contains that nicely charred crust, but at the same time the dough still has a good bite to it. I also order their Arincini almost every time I come here and they are always fantastic. For people that are focusing on some waist line management, never fear! Isabella's salads are actually really good. I get their Greek Salad with chicken all the time. The dressing is legit and the amount of veggies you get on the salad is unbelievable. If you are a cheese-a-holic, like myself, you also get a good amount of fresh, delicious Feta Cheese. If you are in the area or want to order some delicious pie, I strongly suggest you come to Isabella's. They are great people making some great food in Little Italy! read more

It's split in half so I was able to enjoy not one, but two lunches from this lusciousness. This is a take-out only place. But it doesn't matter. They know what they're doing. Holy crap this place floored me. My wife and I stopped in Baltimore on the way home from New York and wanted a nice, quick, simple meal. Isabella's popped up on the Yelp map with good reviews and good prices. My wife and I ordered a 14" Saraceno Pizza. It's a Soppressata, Capicollo, Feta, Garlic and Herbs pizza. The two meats (Sppressata and Capicollo) are covered with Mozzarella cheese, the Feta is below the meats on top of a white / garlic sauce. My wife didn't think we would finish the pizza, but there was no way I wasn't going to finish the meal. It had to be one of the best pizza's I've ever eaten. The sitting area is small, so most of it is a carry out with deli selections to take with you. If you're looking to bring 6 or 8 people for a sit down meal, you might be cramped especially if there's a game in town and they're busy. Just the wife and I were able to grab a small table, set the pizza down and start eating away. The store itself has been in business in one form or another since 1942 as a Deli or Bakery with a wine press in the basement. How cool is that? read more

Good people, great food! I got a cold sandwich on a cold day, and have no regrets! The Verde shocked and awed the fam with how tasty it was for a veggie choice. I had half a slice of their pepperoni and green olive (yeah, we're basic Midwesterners). Pretty tasty. Only thing keeping it from five stars were the prices. The food really is good, but the prices were a bit high for not having table service.
