Staying overnight at a nearby hotel, I was in the mood for food Italian hogie and figured there'd be plenty with Little Italy nearby. Was surprised at how few sandwich places turned up on Yelp in the downtown area. Turns out I didn't need any other options after finding Isabella's! This place was exactly what I was looking for. Only wish I had a few extra stomachs so I could've tried the pizza and a hot sub. Everything on the menu looked good as did everything coming out of the kitchen. Key is the fresh baguettes and the fresh sliced quality Italian meats. I got a 12" Isabella. So tasty. Got a side of the pasta salad too that was real good. I spent 13 years of my military career in Greece and I want to let you all know that this place has THE BEST Greek salad I have ever eaten! I've been to all of local Greek restaurants and, while they may make Greek entrees that are fantastic, Isabella's Greek salad puts them to shame. LOTS of olives! LOTS of feta!! The 3 pizzas were very good, a decent amount of toppings, tasty sauce and chewy crust. The antipasto plate had VERY generous helpings of meat, cheese, and veggies. Would definitely recommend. The salad (greens, olives, feta cheese, 2 kinds of mushrooms, peppers) was more dressing than salad, probably wouldn't get both that and the antipasto at the same time again because they were too similar. read more

This is a really small restaurant, but it makes the best brick oven pizza around. I always goes out of my way to visit if I am anywhere nearby. There are only a couple of tables, and only one seats more than two or three, but the tables turn over quickly. There is a great variety of pizzas, and the staff is pretty friendly. So I've been here 3 times now and everything I've ordered has been amazing! This is a pizza/sub type place. The pizza is seriously good, I had the Margherita (Homemade mozzarella, Tomatoe slices and Fresh basil) and I'm pretty sure that is the best pizza I've ever had. The Cold Cuts here are also amazing. And of course you can't leave without having a cannoli : ) Prices range from $7.00 - $9.00 for subs and salads (large portions), Pizza's were around $13.00 for a large. Well worth it! Awesomeness! This place has been on my list of Baltimore pizza places to visit. My daughter and I visited a different pizza place in Baltimore about a month ago and I wish we had come here first. Yes, the place is small but the pizza is big on taste. The pizza crust/dough was delicious. My daughter and a shared a Margherita and the Bianca. I enjoyed them both but may have favored the Bianca and my daughter preferred the Margherita. I doesn't matter because I got to take the leftovers home and they were good heated up in the over two days later. The next thing that stood out was the friendly customer service. The gentleman behind the counter was kind and helpful to everyone. It's easy to find in Little Italy, big green awning with the name written on it. If you are near Baltimore area, you need to go try this place. You walk in and they make you feel very comfortable. They treat you like you belong there and really take care of you. We ordered the Pizza Bianca. It was AMAZING! Probably the best pizza I have had in a while. We ordered the pizza and he just us to grab some drinks and have a seat while they cooked it. We paid for everything after the pizza was cooked and out. I would recommend this place to everyone. Unfortunately we were only driving through, otherwise I would be a regular. Just finished my first meal at Isabella's. Best pizza I have had in a long time. I came in around 7pm on a Friday night, other than myself there was one other party of 5 that left within the first few minutes; other than that I had the place to myself. Which isn't saying a hole lot because they only have 3 tables. I got the King Richard 10", it was a brick wood fired pizza with Italian sausage, ham, house made meat balls and pepperoni for $9.50. I'm so torn between giving this 3 or 4 stars, but the price is making me lean towards 3 stars. The pizza is excellent- delicious, warm, cheesy pizza. Significantly better pizza than any chain restaurant pizza. However, you will pay $9 for an 10 inch and $15 for a 14 inch pizza. That alone makes me want to turn back to dominos. The 10in is equivalent to a small pizza (personal pizza) and 14in is a medium (feeds 2 people). It is also a carry-out only place. There are 2 tiny tables inside for people to sit and eat, but you'd have to be lucky to find one empty. They also sell ice cream, pasta, and other pasta accompaniments. This is a good place to get pizza every now and then, or if you're craving good pizza. Not the best to feed a group or if you like to have pizza often. read more

So the only reason I'm giving 4-stars is the limited seating and employee only restroom. It's better for take out than dine-in as there are only 3 tables inside. This was a fantastic local place for brick-oven pizza. Husband and I split 14" pizza pavion. It was delicious. It had a good amount of toppings. Damn they can make a good sandwich here. No a great sandwich. I don't come to Baltimore often, but when I do I come to Isabella's. All the sandwiches are beyond good, making me think why can't I make a superb sandwich at home. To start with I don't have a brick oven or a meat slicer. They have some good bread; it's the perfect balance between crispy yet soft. It's crispy enough to hold up to the oil, keeping the sandwich together, but not so hard as to cut the roof of my mouth. They use homemade bread, top it with freshly sliced meats, cheese, veggie and oil. I usually go with a large sandwich and eat to the point of absolute excess. Today I had half a Hagen and half a Zio Ronni, and then waddled my fat ass down to my hotel for a nap. read more

After a decade in the pizza business I've tried a lot of pizza in a lot of different places. While it's all a matter of personal preference, I have to award Isabella's the top spot (for now) on my personal top ten list of pizzas. I can't say anything more powerful than that in my review. Isabella's is a very small (takeout anyone?) joint but order your pie and go sit and watch bocce around back. The prices were fair but I would pay more for pizza this good. Great find in Little Italy! This place has a great selection of delicious hot/cold subs, salads and pizzas for a great price. I have tried half dozen of their sandwiches and am wowed every time. Found this little gem on Yelp and it was everything we had hoped for! Let's put it this way: the last day of our trip was my birthday and could have gone anywhere - this was the only place I wanted to revisit. Brought a bottle of wine and settled down to a plate of sopressatta and prima donna cheese, then a delectable sandwich. I only finished half of my sandwich - the other half came home in my luggage and would have been the only thing truly missed had the bags been lost! My advice is to skip many of the other Little Italy spots that only exist to separate tourists from their lire (La Scala, I'm talkin' to you!) and go here first and again and again! The pizza is made in a wood burning oven right in front of you. They use the best ingredients, including mozzarella made in house and freshly sliced meats. Best place to get either a pizza or sandwich in Baltimore's Little Italy. It is a zoo at lunch but worth it. Great staff as well. read more
