We went on a Saturday at 6pm and the place was already packed. Thus, booking a table in advance is highly recommended. We started off our meal with miswa soup which was delish, I never had a miswa soup that tasty before and I was surprised! We also had chicharon bulaklak for an appetizer which was to my liking, crunchy and not salty or oily at all. Next, we ordered kare-kare, pork sisig, crispy pata for our main dishes. The kare-kare is to die for with its rich and nutty flavor, just the right balance and not overpowering. The crispy pata is crunchy from outside but soft from the inside and you could easily taste that it was well-marinated. And of course, the pork sisig, Isla cooked it as truly authentic kapampangan dish! It was creamy and meaty and again just the right balanced of flavors mixed well together. And when it comes to the facility and service. The place is clean, spacious, and well-presented. The ladies restroom is tidy all throughout the night we were there with sufficient supply of toilet paper. While in terms of entertainment, I would highly recommend it for people who wanted to chill and have a fantastic time especially with a band playing! You won't be disappointed. On top of that, the wait staff do provide our longing for Filipino hospitality level of customer service, the staff is friendly and attentive. They made sure that our water pitchers are refilled regularly and our dirty plates were cleared timely. Went here twice and ended up with bad service both times even though we tried to give it a second chance since the first time was a soft opening. Food is very expensive and portioned for 2 people. It is just typical Filipino fare and nothing extraordinary. White rice is free to fill you up. . Place can seat families up to 8-10 people per table. This last time on a Tuesday we ordered again a whole list of items we didn't have the first time. Even the waiter repeated the order. We got everything except the chicken wings. After 5 minutes of eating and waiting I waved down our waiter and asked him about the wings. He jokingly said "There still flying it in front of the Philippines, sorry we are very busy it should be out soon". He never came back to our table since. 15 minutes later a different random waiter was waived down and asked about the wings. He looked like he went to go check and then after 5 minutes he was taking orders at another table. I waived that second water down after another 5 minutes and he said that the original waiter never placed the order and asked if we still wanted it. I said never mind about it and asked for the check and some Togo boxes. He never came back. Another 10 minute passed and we waived down a bussboy and asked for some boxes. He happily provided them and we packed our leftovers. 2nd Waiter finally came with our check and the HaloHalo dessert in a Togo cup then disappeared. I had to waive down the tall chubby supervisor and then he told me to wait with his finger so he can help another table. He finally then just grabbed it and then never came back. After another 5 minutes I got up to look for that guy around the restaurant and went to the counter to complain about where is my card and bill. The lady said sorry he just dropped it off on the counter. Not one time anybody came to refill my kids soda. They had to get it themselves. Absolutely horrible service all around. Just go to Jollibees and Seafood City for a way better experience. read more

Last Saturday, my friends and I made the trip from Sacramento to this place, and I can honestly say it was totally worth driving! Having an Isla Grand closer to our city is fantastic since we usually head to San Bruno. The food was amazing, as always; you really can't go wrong with any dish on the menu. I was not able to take pictures of the food because the lights were dimmed but it's not a problem to us. The staff were super friendly, but the highlight of the night was definitely the band, Audio Squad. They played a variety of genres, not just Tagalog songs. The restaurant was packed, and it was great to see everyone enjoying the food and music. We also enjoyed our cocktails and stayed until closing time, and the prices for the drinks were very reasonable. Can't wait to come back! read more

I went to their soft opening. The place was live and packed. I didn't wait long to be seated. Customer Service was okay. I've ordered Kare-Kare, Chicken Adobo, Fried Milkfish and Pancit Palabok. I wanted to like it but was so disappointed. The food wasn't all that it was all hyped to be. Each Entree is about $20. Chicken was still pink, Kare- Kare didn't have that flavor that you look for. The food was great! However, service is very poor. Our server has 5 tables. She did her rounds on the four tables but not even once to check on us even when we were trying to get her attention. She went back and forth on the other tables taking their pictures, playing with their kids but never once to our table even when we were calling her. Quality of food is always good when coming to any of the three locations. Service is also good, even on Saturday night. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is because I felt like they gave a little bit less meat and/or vegetables on some dishes. Most likely they were running out of ingredients because of how busy it was and we showed up an hour before close. Gonna have to come back on a weekday for lunch and update my review if it's any different, but all in all, not bad at all. There are signs everywhere indicating that they are still in their soft opening stage and asking patrons to be patient. I guess that means that I go in with lower expectations. Service definitely left a lot to be desired. They are still very disorganized. It takes a while to get a table. Be prepared for long wait times. Once you sit at a table, it will take about 10 minutes for the waiter to take your order. When the food comes, you won't get the appetizers first. The food contains whenever its ready. Our waiter was also inattentive. He took my husband's beer order then walked away. I called him back to put in my wine order. Later, they brought his beer but we had to ask for our wine again. The food was good. I have been to the Isla in Newark and Burlingame. It was close enough to the offerings at those other two restaurants. This area desperately needs a Filipino restaurant so I think they will be successful but it would be nice to have business that cares about the patron experience. The happy birthday song that plays numerous times gets pretty annoying though. Its also played so loud so that makes eating there pretty intolerable. My husband refused to stay for dessert so I had to order my halohalo to go. Next time, I will order takeout. read more

I wish they had their phone lines working so I can order my food ahead of time. Had to wait 45 mins to get my food. They definitely have some room to improve for their to-go order. Like being able to notify people that their order is ready. Instead of having customers constantly checking in to see if their order is ready. Overall, the service and food were great.
