I am old school when it comes to a business that has served it's community for years. It speaks volumes about their credibility and trustworthiness. It was important to me to find the right mechanic for my grandson who is ready to go serve and needs to keep his car in top condition for his return (leave). He needed a starter and it is easy to be quoted a higher price especially if a mechanic thinks you may not be returning anytime soon. Not here. Their service was excellent and a quick response, his car was ready within 24 hours. Tom and John were both awesome to speak with. They provided years of experience and quality workmanship. Unlike some auto shops, these guys take good care of your vehicle and I greatly appreciated that they returned my car back to me with no scratches or dents in my wheels. I recently had some problems with my Volvo where I couldn't unlock my doors or start the engine, and I was going to have to call AAA to get it open and running before I could even take it in anywhere. If I still had problems with it beyond what AAA could do for me, Tom at Island Auto Repair honestly said I'd be best taking it to a dealer or someone who specializes in Volvos as he doesn't have the Volvo-specific device to read more than just the basic codes when running diagnostics. Thankfully, when AAA came out to help me just get into it, they found out the car's battery was completely dead (which affected everything) and simply needed to be replaced, but all else checked out fine. Tom happened to follow up via phone a day later just to see how things went and make sure that I was treated fairly. He was making no money off of it, but simply wanted to make sure it all worked out. Honesty, great service *and* class! Definitely above and beyond *any* mechanic I have ever known. I needed to get my air-conditioning charged. I checked around and most places wanted 150 bucks upfront then fix it and then deduct from that 150 what the cost might be. I called Island auto repair Tom said it would be $75 plus $16 per pound. I went in it was done in a half hour and it was perfect. No BS just fixed what l needed to get fixed. These guys are super honest and helpful. They couldn't diagnose my problem and said that I would need to go to the dealer for a diagnostic. No BS and no charge for taking a look at my Jeep. They have always done a good job with my old GMC Yukon and I would highly recommend them knowing that they won't recommend work that they can't do or don't need to do. read more

I live in Mission Viejo. Work in Irvine. Hectic work and kid schedule makes my days pretty packed with very little wiggle room for things to go wrong. Yesterday morning...my tire was flat. I filled it with Fix a Flat, put air in the tire at the gas station, drove to work. Sat in parking lot...thinking about if the tires going to flat in the middle of the afternoon when I have to pick up my kids, if it will be flat tomorrow morning. Should I put on the spare now.The thought of standing in line on a Saturday morning with the thousand other people at some tire place. I asked GPS for the closest Tire repair. Island Tire popped up. Never heard of the place. I called. Owner Tom said bring in your car. I did. Co-worker picked me up, brought me to my office. Tom fixed two of my tires as they had nails and screws in them. He called me two hours after drop off to tell me my car was ready. Tom, you literally saved me so much time and no stress now that I was back on the road to get my kids as scheduled.
