This place may not look like much from the outside, but once you step inside, the old-Florida atmosphere around the piano area completely changes the experience. The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food came out surprisingly quickly. The drink selection is great, and the cocktails are well made, taste fantastic, and definitely do their job! The live piano music really sets the mood for an evening of fine dining, drinks, and conversation. The food was very good, with both steak and seafood options that hit the belly just right. We arrive on time for our reservation. We are greeted, if that's what you want to call it, by a tall older man. I swear he looked at us like, can you really afford to eat here? The place is very pretty and certainly airs of a higher end establishment. After Mr. Snooty took us to our table, we were greeted by, ready for this, and even more snooty lady. Think Mrs. Howell. It's kind of like going on a date with a psychiatrist, knowing that they are judging every word that's coming out of your mouth. Lol. So after getting a lay of the land from her, we ordered some drinks, which were fantastic. Then the first course came and it was fabulous. We had the escargot and the oysters Rockefeller. Yum. The Escargot was buttery and soft. The oysters were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. We tried a lobster bisque and it was so so good. The touch of sherry was perfect. As for the Caesar's salad, this was the star of the evening. It was one of the best I've had and is what a Caesar salad should taste like. I am seriously considering going back there just for that salad. For dinner my wife had a lobster tail. She reports it was excellent. The snooty lady wanted me to try some special they had, but I went for the lamb chops. Again, perfect, medium rare. Winner. Snooty lady went uber obnoxious snooty after I didn't pick her choice. I was scared for the rest of the night. Overall price to food value, negative 100 billion. Food was fantastic. $250 for the portion sizes not worth it. Then again, even if they were bigger, not worth the price. Like I said, go for the salad and pass on the rest. Make you car payment and go to a more reasonably priced place that won't treat you like you need to have a credit report or occupation that they might approve of. Oh and they had some nice live music. That was good. Too bad, the staff put a damper on the birthday dinner.

My virtually untouched dinner sat in front of me for several minutes without anyone checking to see whether everything was okay....even though the restaurant was not remotely busy and appeared to have plenty of staff. I also ordered a spicy skinny margarita, which was surprisingly syrupy-sweet. I drank it because I wasn't about to let perfectly good tequila go to waste, but it wasn't a good margarita. To their credit, when someone finally came over and I explained that I couldn't eat the salmon, they removed the entrée from my bill. I appreciated that and think it's important to mention it. But three visits tell a story. Twice I couldn't get served at all. The third time I finally got served, but the food, cocktail, and attentiveness were all disappointing. For a beachfront restaurant at this price point, I simply expect better. Great location, enormous potential, but based on my three experiences, I won't be back. The best thing that happened tonight was meeting a fellow writer sitting next to me at the bar. Unfortunately, Tide & Tonic can't take credit for that. It gets a 1 star as bartender was so very sweet about it all.

But over the years, things have just slidden down hill. The once impressive share board has A) not changed in its inclusions during this 5+ year span; and B) gone down in quality considerably. If you look at the pictures of our boards over the years you'll see the Caesar used to be long, elegant romaine leaves with the most delicious lemony-crunchy topping with superior house made dressing. Now it has boring store-looking croutons, no lemon-crunch topping, and the dressing tastes as boring as the salad looks. The potato used to be a large, hassleback prepared encased in a blanket of cheese with another delicious cheese dressing poured on top of that. Now, they just dump a bunch of wet something in the middle of an open lackluster potato. Not only are the items themselves getting more boring, but the board itself being the same for 6 years is boring. Why not change it up? If you can't make an actually good Caesar anymore, why not swap it for a wedge? If you can't be bothered to make a presentable potato - one of the cheapest things for a restaurant to do - why not do some au gratin? Or, why not have 2-3 different boards for people to choose from? Why did they just give up on this concept and themselves? Yes - you can order individual separate sides, but you can do that anywhere. What made this restaurant stand out, and shine like steakhouses in bigger cities, is now dragging them down. We've also really struggled with the hosts over the years. Rude. Inattentive. Not seating in a timely manner despite reservations and an empty restaurant. Being forced into uncomfortably tiny 2-seaters where you feel like you're on a date with the tables next to you. This is the most unromantic thing to do to diners. I would usually never complain about prices at a steakhouse. Again, steakhousing is a hobby of ours and we are fully invested. But... the prices USED to be completely justified given the quality food and experiences. Now... I'd say there are plenty of other restaurants in town with better quality, better service, better vibes - for a better price. I miss the patio vibes. I miss wine by the fire pits. I miss friendly servers and hosts and well-executed offerings. That's such a bummer. If their business couldn't sustain the patio area, maybe they should have thought about why people weren't coming back and made efforts to correct that. Instead of taking away the things they still had going for themselves and flopping on the things they continued offering. What used to be a beautiful location with great service and a thoughtful menu is now a played out shell of its former self. I've shared feedback with the restaurant multiple times over the years, and nothing changes. Like... literally nothing changes unless it's actually getting worse. It's gone downhill, guys. No matter how many videos you post on social of your chefs and how proud you are of your food... I will not be fooled, again.

Traveling for holidays landed on a winner. Cool laid back fresh seafood. Order a special as did my son and daughter. The server Ian with confidence said it was being served with snapper or drum instead of grouper we went with snapper. While waiting on entrees we ordered the mussels with garlic cream sauce ..seriously the broth and bread I would of been happy with. Lets face it 11 year old daughter 16 yr old son single dad trying to please everyone is hard ..not tonite..entrees were served and it was magical to hear all the words use to describe the entrees kids and I had. John, attempted to have dinner at your rest tonight. Bad experience from the moment we walked in the door. What I witnessed was a totally clueless operation. Apparently, you spend a lot of time watching video footage of your patrons! I find that very creepy and inappropriate! Do you think people walk in your rest just so they can get on here and write a nasty message about their experience? You need to get off your butt and start operating your business and stop being a narcissist and responding to people with total Crap! Your more interested in seeing and responding to what people are saying about your rest on here than providing great service to your customers. Being new to the area Islands Fish Grill was an absolute fabulous place to eat. It's Family owned and run. The staff and owners are 5 star and go above and beyond to ensure your experience is fantastic. I dined Tuesday night 8/18 at 6:30 and they had tables spaced 6ft and cleaning between guests. I had the onion crusted grouper which was mouthwatering and delicious, the chefs side grits were creamy and delicious as was the fried spinach, I highly recommend. This is on my must return list I highly recommend. read more

A very good place for a night out with Fresh Fish. I love the Onion Crusted Grouper with mashed potatoes and fried spinach which is a nice twist for a side. I will usually get the asparagus or green beans instead of the potatoes but all is very good. We are regulars here during the winter months. There are a lot of good place's, but this is hands down the best for Fish and seafood. read more

Scotches that I know I've personally purchased in Scotland bc they don't sell them in retail here. Gins we've seen around the world, but actually not in this country. Same with tequilas and mezcals. An incredibly sophisticated prosecco and wine selection. I don't know who is doing their procuring but never let them go! Shopping there is literally like getting to go around the world collecting all the bottles you'd never find at your local liquor store. LOVE IT!! And yes, the food is pretty fantastic. We came before, during, and after COVID, and I have always been impressed. Even in the terrible COVID years of staff and food shortages, the bartenders and management worked their bottoms off to keep the place running smoothly and not disappoint their customers. The upper patio has great views, too. We'll be loyal forever.

Let's get into this. Clocked in at 1:00 pm. Clocked out at 2:15 pm. Frankly an hour for some Burgers and a sandwich is a bit extreme. Certainly we could have overlooked the service, but the food was just OK. But as far as the service, sure one server for the whole place, it's gonna be epic. NOT! I was also a little put off how limited the menu was. Then again, I'm pretty sure they want you in the tavern part, not the dining part. I had the special Avocado GoGo. It was bad bad. You can see from the pictures not much in the way of avocado. They should have called it an olive tampanade with a slice of cheese. Yeah one. At least the olives were good. My wife had the Mansion Burger. It was good. Very sloppy and who doesn't like a sloppy floppy burger. The fries came out cold, no biggie. When we mentioned it, they brought us two giant bowls full of fries. They were great. All in all meh. Now, if you drink, you want to visit their tavern. That looks so cool. Go there for that.

Worst part is that my significant other was right next to me. Also, let's start with the service. The only thing the that was bad about this dinner, Besides the ruining of the surprise was that the server was absolutely horrible. It took her about 30 minutes just to start us off with water and it wasn't even busy. After she came back with the waters, it took her another 30 minutes to come back to take our order. I'm a very observant person so I would see groups of people come in and they would get their food before us. That's crazy. Anyways, after another 30 minutes, the waiter came to take our orders. We all knew what we wanted cause we were already there for an hour. About 20 minutes later. Our food comes out and two people order was wrong. We tell the lady and she said she's gonna get it fixed 10 minutes ago by and the person just ends up eating whatever they were given. Overall worst experience ever never coming back. PS the food was good at least.

Busy, but not too crowded, bartender was excellent. Started off with a vodka martini (was going to order oysters). Ordered the beet salad to start and it was huge. Roasted beets, tomatoes, and blue cheese w/frisee lettuce was very good. Next appetizer was the fried green tomatoes. Huge, crispy and lots of them. Crab meat and remoulade on top was just right. They had imported oysters from New England (Wellfleet) so ordered a 1/2 dozen to go with my martini. Excellent presentation and taste. Next was the peel and eat shrimp. Big and not overcooked. The cocktail sauce was good, with lots of horseradish. On top of all the good food was the atmosphere. More like a resort than a restaurant. Great view of the river. Highly recommended and will go back next time I'm in town.
