Usually I would rave about this place, I love coming in here and seeing the friendly service, and happy faces . However it's concerning that a place that is so highly concerned with a mask mandate has a staff who doesn't require all of their employees to wear gloves during COVID-19 when preparing food but is quick to rub a mandate in our faces, meanwhile only half of their staff is wearing gloves while preparing our food. When I ask the manager why only half of the staff are wearing gloves while handling food, as they were frequently spilling and constantly cleaning up with rags and telling customers to put masks on or leave. The manager responded by stating the mandate only requires that we wear masks, it doesn't require them to wear gloves. Im aware that because drinks aren't a food, your not required by law to wear gloves to prepare. They also are not a soda your pouring from a fountain. Your making slushees, boba, teas, chicken, etc. It goes without saying that during covid if we as customers are expected to take extra precautions to protect ourselves and others from getting covid then you as a business should also should take the extra precautions to protect us as a business from bacteria exchange. Get some Damn gloves for your employees!! as soon as we remove our masks and consume our food we've now placed what ever germs you've needlessly put your unwashed uncovered hands all over into our mouths. I have had great service and my drinks are always out in a reasonable amount of time considering how busy they were at each of the 3 times I have been here. Some friends from school turned me on to Boba Time and now it has become my new addiction. I have not found a flavor I do not like yet. I have had the cookies n cream, pb choco banana, and the Thai tea smoothie all with boba and made with Almond milk since I'm not cows milk person :). This place has good customer service. Drinks are out at a reasonable time. They have a lot of different drinks to choose from. They have teas, frappe, smoothies, açaí bowls and more! The atmosphere is great. There is a lot of seating and it's not too noisy unless busy. Also it's right off fwy 99 so if your passing by it has easy access to get back on the road. read more

This location is very slow and the staff is always making excuses. I've came to the location three times around different time of the day. They never have the Taiwanese chicken, they state they turn the fryer off at 3pm, the other guy told me they turn it off at 5pm and another employee stated chicken has gotten expensive or they ran out so why keep advertising it ? I've been routinely going to Boba Time since coming to Bakersfield. Especially during this pandemic, want to be able to help support businesses during these uncertain times. Yesterday I went again to Boba Time and ordered two drinks instead of the typically one drink I usually order, intending to drink the second the next day and wanting to save gas while supporting Boba Time's continued business. When I drank the second drink the next day, I discovered that the drink wasn't made correctly and called Boba Time to let them know at the end of my work day. I was informed by the manager that since I didn't bring the drink back the same day I ordered it to prove that it was made incorrectly, there was nothing Boba Time could do, even though I let them know I have been a loyal customer and in this instance for the first time, purchased two drinks instead of my traditional one with the intention of best supporting their business. Overall, very disappointed at the poor customer service and disregard for customer loyalty. I'll be taking my business elsewhere. I've been promoting Boba Time to friends as well and will no longer be doing so moving forward. read more

As a Koreatown native part of me was happy finding out there was a Bobatime here, but it saddens me how I have to write a review with one star. I came in at 9:06pm not knowing they close at 9pm. An employee was cleaning and saw us come in, I stood in line and made eye contact with two more employees, and another which was a "manager" surprisingly. Nobody acknowledged me and my daughter, not a "hello welcome in", or "welcome to bobatime" greeting. Not even when the "manager" called two orders did he say anything, instead turned around and ordered another employee to tell us that they were already closed. How does it make sense for me to stand there for 5 min for them to even say this to me and another customer whom have been standing there way before I even walked in for who knows how long! I get it it's 5 minutes, it may not seem a lot but that's a waste of my time that I could never get back. 5 min of me figuring out what my 3 year old daughter wants, and as a parent they should know how difficult it is especially if shes picky. I talked to the manager with long curly hair who was so unprofessional, only waiting to response instead of listening to what I have to say and actually understand where I'm coming from. If you can't handle being in this line of work and understand then I think it's time to move on.
