    Jumbo Prawns 'N Chips Chowder

If you think ivar's is just for tourists- hold your judgment. I came in for lunch on a weekday afternoon and was SO pleasantly surprised. The menu board was very clear which made deciding what to order easy. The service really made my experience 10/10! I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who took my order (around 1pm on 3/9). She really was a doll. The food was SO good. I got the jumbo prawns and chips and chowder. All wonderful. When I was finished the woman who took my order came to my table to drop off an Andes candy, a very nice touch. I really enjoyed the low key old school charm and will definitely be back!

Service was exceptional and the food was good. The coconut prawns and dipping sauce were our favorite. Got the cod fish and chips and they were just okay. They were fresh but didn't care too much for the breading as I prefer battered. We had a nice seat by a big window on the water and watched the water ferry and birds.

Pollack fish and fries, clam chowder, and shrimp.

Great dinner for fast Food. The service was good and the food was good too. It was later when we got here so we weren't expecting quality. We were pleasantly surprised. Prices aren't bad for Seattle either. And a 5++ for the tarter. Yum. Also they had pollack ...its been since I was in ALASKA last. Cooked perfect! Thank you for sharing this little bit of AK with us.

We had Ivar's delivered to our hotel room for dinner and we were so excited to try out the infamous clam chowder soup and fish and chips. Ordering was easy. Our food arrived shortly and it was dropped off at the lobby. The food was great! It was well cooked, tasty, and tasted freshly made. We quickly became big fans of the clam chowder soup, yum! Definitely recommend giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

A very nice, welcomed break from chicken and burgers and burritos. Five kinds of fish, prawns, salads, chowder, fries--and plenty of tartar sauce. The traditional 4-piece cod is what it's all about. The coleslaw could use more flavor and more dressing; then it's perfect. Affordable. About $12-$15 per person with a drink.

One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."

The service was great and the waiter explained many of the new dishes to us herself. The food came out very fast after ordering and though there were several other tables full of groups, they also got their food out quick as well. I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared. Once they received their order, I heard the couple tell the sever that everything was very good multiple times- their food did look good! I recommend checking this place out especially with the new ownership. Menu looks similar from previous owners, but will for sure go back and try something else!

My first time, we came with another couple and ordered 6 dishes. My favorite part about this place is the rotating banchan that is unique and house made - different each time we came. My favorite dish both times were the cold noodles - refreshing and really tasty. They had solid seafood pancake and I really liked the soondobu also. Kalbi was OK and portion was pretty small. The second time we came also early on a weeknight and had a very long wait because they seem to be understaffed even though there was plenty of seating. Besides the wait (understandable, they did warn us), I would say the biggest disappointment was getting one of the combos. It seemed like a "good" deal (seems like it's meant for 3 people) but turns out, the dishes are even smaller than the already small dishes; for example, the stir fried squid was 90% vegetables, and they only provided 2 fried dumplings even though the portion does come with 3 bowls of rice so it is difficult to split. I would stick with just ordering what we want on the menu next time. A splurge, but decent place to take guests/entertain overall.
