Jumbo Prawns 'N Chips Chowder
Katerina L.

If you think ivar's is just for tourists- hold your judgment. I came in for lunch on a weekday afternoon and was SO pleasantly surprised. The menu board was very clear which made deciding what to order easy. The service really made my experience 10/10! I wish I had gotten the name of the woman who took my order (around 1pm on 3/9). She really was a doll. The food was SO good. I got the jumbo prawns and chips and chowder. All wonderful. When I was finished the woman who took my order came to my table to drop off an Andes candy, a very nice touch. I really enjoyed the low key old school charm and will definitely be back!

Service was exceptional and the food was good. The coconut prawns and dipping sauce were our favorite. Got the cod fish and chips and they were just okay. They were fresh but didn't care too much for the breading as I prefer battered. We had a nice seat by a big window on the water and watched the water ferry and birds.

Pollack fish and fries, clam chowder, and shrimp.

Great dinner for fast Food. The service was good and the food was good too. It was later when we got here so we weren't expecting quality. We were pleasantly surprised. Prices aren't bad for Seattle either. And a 5++ for the tarter. Yum. Also they had pollack ...its been since I was in ALASKA last. Cooked perfect! Thank you for sharing this little bit of AK with us.

We had Ivar's delivered to our hotel room for dinner and we were so excited to try out the infamous clam chowder soup and fish and chips. Ordering was easy. Our food arrived shortly and it was dropped off at the lobby. The food was great! It was well cooked, tasty, and tasted freshly made. We quickly became big fans of the clam chowder soup, yum! Definitely recommend giving this place a try, you won't be disappointed!

A very nice, welcomed break from chicken and burgers and burritos. Five kinds of fish, prawns, salads, chowder, fries--and plenty of tartar sauce. The traditional 4-piece cod is what it's all about. The coleslaw could use more flavor and more dressing; then it's perfect. Affordable. About $12-$15 per person with a drink.

Loved the clams, shrimp kind of sucked, and the fish was great. Fries weren't good. The sweet tartar sauce was great. The service was great!

Spud was such a great lunch spot--we left full, happy, and already talking about coming back…read more Everything tasted super fresh and flavorful, especially with their house sauces. We ordered a mix of items (highly recommend doing this), and while the cod, calamari, prawns, and chowder were all amazing, the mushrooms completely stole the show. Crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside--easily my new favorite side. The location is a huge bonus--right by the water and ferry, which makes the whole experience feel even better. Inside is clean, spacious, and well-decorated, perfect for groups or a casual lunch outing without breaking the bank. Service was excellent--friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful with recommendations. You can tell they care about the experience.

Service friendly and prompt…read more Order kids fish n chips. 3 pieces of rock fish n chips and two orders of mushrooms. Mushrooms are bad. They are cut in haves my guess frozen due to texture. Crispy outside but inside soft slimy and just over all not good. Never again I had the rock fish. Hot crispy the gentleman described it has savoury. Definitely more of an ocean taste. I can't say fishy because it's fish. Nothing bad but a little more seafood flavour than typical cod What I did not like was that you pay for tartar and ranch for both mushroom and fish. One complimentary would have been nice. Will I be back? I doubt it. Ivars is my go to. I've been to Spunds when I was young to Greenlake Alki and Juanita. Just not as I remember. Definitely more commercial feel. Again staff outstanding

starting off, i was pleasantly surprised by the portion of sourdough bread given prior to the meal…read more- as I wasn't expecting that the bread wasn't anything special - but i did like the outside; found it to be pretty crispy. also, i liked the fact that they gave you butter as a dip, although it wasn't easy to spread it on the sourdough as it was just one big block i thought the main part of this dish, the salmon sliders, were quite good, however this came in three separate 'sliders', each with a base of rosemary bread, a sliced tomato, and a portion of salmon, topped with pesto the actual salmon itself was ok - personally i thought it was a bit stringy and chewy, but otherwise not bad. being brushed with oil certainly helped with the taste however, the other aspects of the slider were fantastic normally, i don't like tomatoes, but it fit really well with this dish. the flavor was there but not overpowering i also quite liked the pesto as a condiment - there was a solid amount on there - and it added a nutty texture that was good the best part of these sliders, however, was the rosemary bread. this was exquisitely good - it was crispy, herby, buttery, and served as an incredible base for the sandwich as a whole. i absolutely loved every bite of this the other thing that was a great touch was placing the sliders on the bottom of the bread rather than the 'more fluffy' side. this ensured that the bread wouldn't get soggy from the tomato/salmon and had it retain its crunchiness to the maximum three sliders was also a pretty good portion size another thing i enjoyed was the salad. a lot of places think that lots of dressing, often oil, is necessary to make a good salad, but this place managed to deliver something that tasted really good and had nice flavor with the use of little to no dressing. i'm impressed at the end of my meal, i got a carrot cake from the dessert menu this was decently sized, and the cream cheese frosting on this had a wonderful flavor i didn't taste the carrot as much in the inside of the cake, but i could tell it was still baked well, and the frosting added a great touch i would say its more of a cupcake than a cake, however i came during happy hour, so for the price of about $14, the sourdough bread + the salmon sliders were a pretty good value i can't say the same for the carrot cake - as while it was good - about 9 dollars is a little too expensive for that

We shared a 3 piece cod and chips and a large chowder. It's nice they give a senior discount when you are over 60 (yikes!). The service was quick and friendly and we got our food quickly. The fish is cooked up perfectly with a golden crust and was delicious. They serve it with their house tartar sauce and a very small side of coleslaw. The chowder was very hearty and tasty as well. Everything here was good and, even though seating inside is limited, they had a few outdoor tables which helped. We at outside and another group joined us and we made friends with them. Bonus. Legend has it that tens of thousands of years ago, our ancestors lived by eating raw meat and…read moredrinking blood. One day, lightning struck a tree, causing a massive forest fire that killed many animals. Our ancestors then discovered that cooked meat tasted much better than raw meat. This is why roast meat has always been regarded as an important part of the human diet. Today I gathered with friends and chose this barbecue restaurant. It's located north of Redmond, with a prominent sign and plenty of parking. Ambiance: The decor is creative, but it feels quite contradictory. Barbecue is inherently a very "Jianghu" (lively, rough-and-tumble) kind of thing, yet the restaurant leans toward an artistic, literary style. When I used to run my own restaurant, I followed a principle: avoid anything unrelated to the core dining experience. Seeing many books on the shelves here, I understand they're trying to bridge Jianghu and artistry -- but it clearly feels out of place. That said, the place is very clean, and the stickers/decorations are festive. Service: My high rating for this restaurant is largely based on the service. After we sat down, we were given free appetizers -- braised peanuts, which tasted great. The staff training is very professional, whether it's taking orders, making recommendations, attending to us during the meal, or checking on tables and refilling water. All excellent. Taste: Jianghu-style cuisine is characterized by boldness, satisfaction, and not sweating the small details. We ordered spicy hot pot (Malatang), spicy hot pot skewers, grilled beef, lamb, chicken gizzards, oysters, and many other items. First, the Malatang and spicy skewers tasted almost identical, so it felt like eating the same thing. The grilled skewers were just average -- neither good nor bad. The oysters were very tasty. However, the shrimp in the spicy skewers were very unfresh, which was disappointing. "By the way, the prices at 'Friendship Skewers' are anything but friendly -- I think it's quite overpriced overall."
