Was recommended this spot by a friend for a quick and yummy brunch on a day trip to savannah, and they did not disappoint! There was plenty of street parking for us, and it seems to be in a convenient spot to get to. Super cool space, its a converted barn or storage space I believe, classic diner feel with cool art on the walls, and the wait staff was very sweet, lots of southern charm! Most of my group got skillets, which were a TON of food (I barely got halfway through mine) and all freshly prepared, dropped off at our table still sizzling! Some years ago, I had an irritating experience at J Christopher's. During that experience I was blessed with sufficient time to register a yelp account and leave a review expressing my feelings on the diner... So, I did. It was short, factual, and could have been lower--a fair and accurate assessment in my view... I was satisfied. Several years after, I found myself compelled to author a second review... A positive review... Something for a restaurant that doesn't rigorously enforce annoying seating policies when the dinning area is all but empty! So, I pointed my browser at yelp.com, and clicked my way through the "I forgot my password" process (as one does) and before long I was logged into Yelp for what was likely the first time since that woeful morning in 2014. Immediately upon logging in, my attention was drawn to a notification icon begging for attention. J Christopher's had graced me with a "tip"! Struck with a case of mild curiosity, I clicked through the menu with an APM my grandfather might have considered glacial. After the tip loaded, and I just instantly felt that the good patrons of Yelp.com deserved to experience it for themselves. I decided to append it to my original review. Unfortunately, my efforts were stifled through some unknown balance of "Yelp just doesn't let you do that" and "I'm actually just too dumb and whimsical to figure it out"... Whatever the case, I immediately devoted entirely too much time to authoring a third review! This review! So, here we are... here's the tip. "They won't seat you if everyone isn't ready to sit. Great breakfast & lunch spot with diner feel. Indoor and limited outdoor seating. Came here after Easter Sunday mass. Waited short time for table. Server was amazingly friendly and attentive. Our food took ridiculously long time to arrive, but it's a holiday so there's some understanding. Once we got the food, it was outstanding. Very enjoyable. As we frequent Savannah a few times a year since our kid goes to college here, will definitely be back. read more

Large restaurant with plenty of seating and my party of 4 was able to be seated pretty quickly around 10:30am on a Sunday. Many food options to pick from and great waitstaff. Definitely a casual ambience, great for brunch. Food itself was pretty average- good food but not particularly unique or amazing. No. Just no. Don't do it. It smelled funky when I walked in and out of 5 different meals that were order at our table none were good. My sons chicken tenders and two of us who got breakfast potatoes all said it tasted like burnt plastic or chemicals. The poor server who was clearly stretched too thin with far too many tables said that the fryer oil was old/dirty and maybe that's why his chicken tenders were off and that he didn't know why the potatoes were bad as well. My brother who got the chicken and waffles said they were extremely bad as well. I just don't get why this place is rated as high as it is. Go somewhere else. read more

I really wanted to love this place since I've heard such good things about it, but it just didn't do it for me. Giving 4 stars though because my husband loved it. Atmosphere: There's a lot of old-school diner vibes but in a very wide open space since it occupies what used to be a garage. Even early on a Sunday morning it was very loud with lots of kids and families. While there's certainly a lot of character, some aspects could use a little TLC. The booth we were seated in had all sorts of holes in the upholstery. Food: The menu has a huge variety which makes picking food challenging. My husband ordered the bacon waffle and absolutely devoured it. I ordered the Nutella crepes and was disappointed to discover that they were basically just eggy-tasting banana crepes drizzled with a tiny bit of Nutella. Service: Our waitress was prompt and friendly but super hard to hear over the crowd, we found ourself having to ask her to repeat nearly everything she was saying. Verdict- Judging by the crowds this is obviously a super popular spot and definitely great for a family with kids. Be prepared to wait if you arrive any later than 9:30am on the weekend. read more

So.. the crepes.. maybe i ordered the wrong thing here. I got strawberry crepes. The presentation was shitty. cut the strawberries smaller instead of big chunks. plating it as a hearty burrito is not sexy. I took all the chunky strawberries out and chopped them into fine chop and made triangle shaped crepes to be able to get a better flavor of crepe and strawberry. I had heard really good things about this place in ATL.. but it feels like the kitchen hates their job and no one cares. This place is probably one of the best breakfast eateries that I have had the pleasure to find! We were in town just a few blocks away, found it in a google maps search for breakfast/restaurants, it looked good (both food and price)...we ended up eating there everyday of our trip. The food was absolutely delicious. The price was right on-point. The service was excellent - our server was *Kiaree* - she was great! She was very energetic, polite, and helpful (she recommended meals choices to us and they were spot-on) - all-around awesome young lady - when you go, ask for her section! What a great place for breakfast. It's nicely presented, and it's a very comfortable place to sit. As a former restaurant owner, I put as much importance on service and cleanliness as I do on the food. It's mostly clean (more in a moment) and the service was truly exceptional. Jade and her trainee friend could work in any restaurant in the world an still shine. So, I had a vegetable omelette with spuds and an English muffin. It was really nice, as was the coffee. My wife had eggs Benedict and grits. She echoes my sentiments, and at $30 in total it was well priced indeed. My only criticism (see above) is the state of the front windows. C'mon Boss, these windows haven't been cleaned in a couple of seasons. Marietta has a lot of breakfast restaurants and I imagine you wouldn't survive long if you goof it. J Christopher's does it well and should be around for a good long time. We'll be back. read more

About 2 months ago I tried J Christopher's for the first time- and I can't even tell you the amount of times I've come back! It's such a great selection of delicious foods! I am a savory breakfast lover and have ordered a lot of the skillets and bagels and chicken and waffles etc! Though I live in California, I own a condo just down the street from J. Christopher. They epitomize Southern Hospitality. Though I'm only there from time to time, some members of the staff recognize and greet me. Oh, to be a regular. That greeting does something like, morning sweetheart. Would you like your usual today. My two favorites are J. Gristopher pictured and blueberry crunch cakes. Their bacon tends to be over cooked and breaks in little pieces. A true 3 1/2 stars. We tried to go to Mrs. Wilkes' Dining Room for lunch, but it was closed due to the Memorial Day holiday. Instead, we Yelped what was nearby, and ended up at J Christopher's instead. My party of five wanted one last meal before we started the long drive from Savannah back to Richmond, and J Christopher's did not disappoint! We had about a 15-20 minute wait, as this restaurant was packed when we arrived. We are glad we waited for indoor seating though, because although there is no wait for outdoor seating (seat yourself), halfway through our meal, a thunderstorm kicked in and it started pouring outside, getting all of the outdoor diners (and their food!) soaking wet. Our waitress was very friendly, and she remembered all of our orders without writing anything down! The atmosphere of the place is very casual and diner-like. We did have some utensils with some residue that prompted asking for replacement silverware. The menu is extensive, and there are also specials of the day. I ended up ordering one of the "skillets," which literally came in a small cast iron skillet! =) It was very tasty! Seems like a popular place to eat, and they are only open for breakfast and lunch. I ordered the Huevos Avocado both days, and the potatoes were better on Sunday, but the eggs were better on Friday. The canadian bacon lacked that sweet flavor. His omelette was actually pretty good and flavorful. His sausage tasted pretty dry to me. They also gave you fruit slices with your meals - we got orange slices. Price - mid range. the pantry feast was about $11. I probably wouldn't go back again. I gave this place a try for breakfast early Friday afternoon. It had all the signs of an amazing place! The line was practically out the door but people didn't seem to mind the wait. Surprisingly the wait for a party of 2 was only about 15 minutes. Once seated, I checked out the menu. I knew I wanted to try something different that was a local favorite. I ordered the blueberry granola pancakes, jalapeño bacon grits, bacon and eggs. The pancakes were fantastic a great combination of flavors and a unique combination for a pancake. The rest left much to be desired. The eggs and bacon were average at best. And the grits were awful. I never add salt or pepper to my dishes. These grits needed a healthy shake of both. If I return, I'd get the home fries instead. For me, this place is just okay. read more

Wonderful place for breakfast! I enjoyed the Bubba Biscuits (sausage biscuits and gravy) w grits and bacon. Bacon was cooked crispy and grits were delicious, the biscuit didn't seem to be anything special. The crab eggs Benedict was good too. The crab seemed to overpower the egg but that may be our preference. We enjoyed the banana bread French toast w pecans but there seemed to be something missing, again, it could be preference. We took my grandparents for their 65th anniversary earlier this week. There were eleven people in the party and out server was capable of taking and remembering spot on our orders! The only thing he had to clarify was the side with my Benedict. They even did a special crepe (gratis) for my grandparents. Plus the server sang 'happy anniversary' to the tune of happy birthday. We all sang along too. My Benedict was pretty spot on. I modified the birds nest (back of menu) to have tomatoes rather than sun dried. I'm a boss at making hollandaise and I though it was pretty good here. I'd order it agin for sure. The only down side was the coffee. Ugh, plentiful but not too good.
