First of all if you call and ask how long the wait is they will tell you 15 minutes then when you arrive they say 35 - 45 minutes. Since we called from the car in the parking lot we know there were not two bus loads of tourists that arrived in between. The 35-45 minutes becomes 65 minutes but by then you are too hungry to leave so they basically weaken you to the point where you stay longer than they are worth. The place looks good, but it's fairly new that's why. The waitstaff is friendly and some look real good in their jeans, but not good enough to justify the food that seems to have been covered in salt and the steep prices for what you are getting. Since my partner and I go out 2x - 3x per week I can say with confidence that this place does not live up to the hype or the overly generous reviews people give it. They are a wannabe Houston's/Cheesecake Factory that appears to have stolen some dishes from both but their cooking falls short. Everything had way too much salt. Very good food. The avocado rolls were delicious. The balsamic dipping sauce added a nice zing to the flavor. The prime rib sliders were excellent. The meat was thinly sliced and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The horseradish sauce and pesto were nicely balanced. My husband's fish sandwich was nicely cooked. I came here for the 1st time a few months ago because me and my coworkers were driving by. It was good. brought my husband here 2 weeks. I thought it was good, him, not so much. I brought him back again tonight in the hopes he'd love it like I do. The food was amazing....steak, chicken, and a burger. So delicious, fresh, and hot. The best part of our experience was our waitress, Loretta. She greeted us quickly and with a smile. Our order was accurate. I've been around the service and restaurant industry my entire life. My parents used to own Miami Subs back in the 90s and now they own a restaurant in North Carolina so I know service, food, and customer service. Loretta is an exceptional waitress, above most. Others can take a lesson from her...how to treat guests, how to explain the menu, how to make an average night out into a memorable experience. She even treated our 4yr old son like a person, which many would disregard. Kudos to her and J Marks for hiring her. We will be back. Very impressed. I did not have high expectations going in, but went with the $12.99 special which was a nice slab of swordfish and a loaded baked potato with delicious asparagus. Completely satisfied. My queen ordered the chicken medeiro , garlic mashed potatoes along with sauteed mushrooms in a killer sauce. My boyfriend and I frequent this location. We usually sit at the bar because we find the service is a bit better than at the tables. This past week we brought a friend with us and had a pretty rough service experience. Additionally, the food came out all at once and it was of poor quality. That actually wasn't the issue, the issue was that when he politely contacted the corporate office, along with our third party guest, they denied following up on any of their complaints. Sure, sometimes you get crappy service, or under cooked food, or your food is timed improperly. BUT, you rarely get all three of those things at once. I have not been here in quite a few years only because I keep forgetting about this place. So the 2 of us went. He had 1/2 BLT and tomato soup. Soup was ok. I had the shrimp over angel hair pasta. Shrimp were grilled and very good. Pasta and its sauce could have used a little more flavor. Also, could have used more sauce on my pasta. Bill with 2 iced teas was $50. Waiter was ok. The waitress who was waiting on another table was actually more helpful. She made sure we were ok (need more iced tea, rolls, etc.?). Now I remember why I haven't been here in quite a while. It is just ok, so negate my first sentence. I find this place really comfortable and inviting though. Even though I was "kinda disappointed", I am going to give it another try. Excellent dinner. Two had beautiful New York strip steaks, cooked perfectly, and I had oriental salad, chopped and dressed, very good. The hot rolls and butter before dinner were delicious. Our server was attentive. The only negative is that our table was right next to the door to the outside seating and we were blasted with warm air throughout our meal. The food here is delicious but I have to say I'm very disappointed with one of the managers of this restaurant. She needs to be taught the proper way to speak and manage her employees. I was in the restroom when I hear someone crying and clearly very upset and Just when I wanted to step out to see if she was okay I hear someone else coming in mad yelling "stop crying" (which does not help any situations at all) and not helping her and then escorting her out of the bathroom. I understand if the worker was in trouble but to scorn and belittle someone like that especially in a BATHROOM where customers can come and she can be easily embarrassed? Not professional at all. I really hope she gets taught how to be a manager 101 because clearly she isn't doing it right. I hope that girl is okay and someone takes the next steps into making sure it doesn't happen again. Ever since they opened I've gone there for there Fillet Mignon dinner with baked potato & carrots. That was about 11 years ago. I go about twice a month and get gift cards from family members, or go there with them when they're in town. Anyway my reason for contacting you is my wife and I had a really bad dinner experience for my Birthday, the next day I called and spoke to the manager JUSTIN. He invited me back at gave us the same meal for myself and wife to make things right including the drinks. I have to say for such a young man he was so accommdating and a real professional handling the situation. He seated use, took care of everything and came back 3 times to be sure all was good. This is probably the worst restaurant I have been to in Florida. Let just say your better off eating at the Olive Garden or maybe even McDonalds. My drink had a Hair in it and the waiter made jokes about it through out our horrible dinner. The soup was sold as a "vegetable mediterranean soup" which was a can of Campbells Chunky Soup. The Kale salad wasn't bad. The special was "Fresh filet of Snapper" which was dark in color, slightly fishy and was drowned in OIL. Need I say more......... read more

How Do I Begin. The most wonderful experience from beginning to end. From the moment I opened the door. Which made the hotness come outside as if she and I was going to jump my boyfriend because I attempted to open the door, and he said "I wish you would open that door" causing me to shut it and him having a few words with me about opening my own door. So the hostess seeing this, could only look like I was being verbally abused () by my boyfriend. So she comes outside , to welcome us to J.Marks as if she was coming to rescue me and save me and we laughed and told her it's not what it looks like. So shout out to the hostess's. They will greet you with a smile, but don't mess with them (lol). Then we got to meet our server Francis. Who greeted us with so much personality and spirit. Let us know the specials right away and gave us recommendations. I enjoyed most was her patience for my boyfriend had never been to J Marks before and everything on the menu looks and sound So good so we took FOREVER to order. (We ended up getting the Baja Chicken and the Chefs special Blackened Swordfish Delicious ). And then there Dani, the manager. I have never experienced any manager at any restaurant I have ever been too like Dani. God Bless, Dani. From the moment we sat down, she was checking on us, she got our drinks , she was making us laugh and still made her rounds to every other table in the restaurant. Then she come back to us, check to see what we ordered, made recommendations, and would make us laugh again . It was like I was at dinner and a show. I had the most fantastic experience. And to top it off, she recommended, and then bought us their delicacy dish, the Sea Bass. Just when I said I couldn't wait to leave only because I needed to unbutton my pants from all the delicious food we had, she brought out the Sea Bass. And let me tell you, that Sea Bass was SO GOOD!!! I don't care how full I was, we ate that Sea Bass. My gripe is for $18 for sliders and and added $7 for fries...that puts them price wise above Alexander's and nobody has better prime rib (rare if you want) with great French fries included. Although it was packed on a Friday night, the service was slow, and the noise level deafening (with a bare metal ceiling), based on food and value I can't give it any less than five stars. The swordfish was grilled to perfection, and the New York strip steak was very high quality. (I asked for medium, but got medium rare, which I admit is better than well-done.) Oriental salad was very good, and so were the sides. Food server Trevor was exceptional--"Employee of the Year" material. Don't go if you have more than 4 in your party. Made reservations at 7:30 (on a Friday, maybe that was the mistake). When we got there, we were told by the hostess that they don't take reservations (?!?) and that there would be a 15-30 minute wait. After 45+ minutes (and 2 separate visits by a person I assume was a manager, who both times assured us our table was being cleared and would be ready in a few minutes), we were finally seated. We did have a lovely meal, eventually. Being lied to put a real damper on our evening, whether it was the person who took the 'reservation' or the hostess who couldn't deal with the one we had. Really like this place. The decor is nice like an upscale sports bar. We usually order the prime rib and the portion is huge and very tasty never disappoints. For appetizer we usually get the spinach dip and its good. I got the chopped salad and the portion was great. Loved the crispy bacon and chicken on it. read more
