Went here with my daughter for the second time today. Both times I had the Thai salmon salad because it was so good the first time I had to get it again. My daughter, who loves buffalo style, ordered the chicken sandwich with buffalo sauce and she said it was the best one she has ever had. I have generally always have loved this place- quick service, friendly staff and good quality food. I even met the owner when they first came to the area and he was extremely kind and pleasant to meet. It has always seemed like a great business. Unfortunately though, I have to say my past visit I had really rubbed me the wrong way which makes me not want to continue as a regular customer. I called in my order and spoke to what sounded like a young man, and arrived 20 minutes later to pick it up. When I got to the counter, the employee at the register couldn't locate my order for some weird reason. She asked another girl who I'm guessing was the manager, for help to see if she could find my order which mysteriously wasn't there. The manager said to me, "we don't have it". I mentioned I had just called 20 minutes ago and spoke to a guy who took my order and she rudely said, "well it probably didn't go through", and walked away while the girl at the register said that I would need to reorder. Now, I understand things happen, but there was zero "I'm sorry about that" or any regard to the fact that it was an inconvenience and nonetheless rather odd that my phone order vanished. Almost like it was my fault. So I phoned my party to ask for their orders again and got back in line and put in my order again. Neither did the employee at the register or the manager say anything more to me after I had to reorder everything. I sat there for 25 minutes for my order and when it was ready, the same manager calls my name to grab the bag. As I walked up to grab it I said "thank you" and she replied, "Yep!". To conclude my experience, I got back home to find that part of my order was missing which ironically has happened the last two times I've phoned in orders recently. I had to drive back to get the rest of it and when I went in, a new employee was at least kind enough to say, "Sorry about that, let me grab that for you". At the end of the day, mistakes happen and I am definitely understanding and fine with that, but I don't appreciate rudeness on top of it. The manager really ruined my experience and unfortunately has not made my want to go back since. read more

Great creative food. Urban fries are the best I've ever had. The steak and onion rings salad is perfect!

I have visited this location twice at the height of lunch, and Jack's executes very well each time. The Western BBQ salad is great, prepared for you while you are in line and the portions are huge. The service is very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable. While it is busy, the restaurant does not appear slammed, and the atmosphere is quiet enough to talk and hear the other person across from you. Very similar to Urban Eats, but less visual counter choice overload. I think the ordering process was easy to follow and the food was high quality and tasty. We ordered the tri tip plate with roasted vegetables and mac n cheese and the santa fe chicken salad. Both were generous servings. The tri tip was the stand out for me, especially with the chipotle mango BBQ sauce. The garlic fries are also addictive. I would love to try this again whenever I'm in the area. read more

It's like a fancy Boston Market + wine and beer. The kids gobbled up the chicken and mac and cheese side. The hubby enjoyed a nice glass of La Crema Chardonnay with his carved turkey meat, roasted veggies and mashed potato. My Sante Fe chicken salad was delicious with the tequila lime dressing. The food here was mediocre. I had the cheesesteak sandwich. But what really ruined my lunch was one of the owners. I came here with my wife, ten-month old son, and our service dog Pippa on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch. I was looking forward to it because it's a treat to have lunch with my family in the middle of the week. Upon entering, I was almost immediately asked about our 16-pound Goldendoodle by one of the staff. "Excuse me, is that a service dog?", he asked. I said she was and provided her identification, and he said "great, that's all I need to know", waiving the ID card away, hardly giving it a look. Easy enough. But that wasn't the end of it, unfortunately. My wife waited in line with our son while I snagged a table with Pippa. No longer did I sit down when I was accosted by a middle-aged man with his wife. He had wispy blonde hair tucked under a green baseball cap and was wearing jeans and sneakers, starting to take a seat behind me with his lunch. He interrupted me with, "Excuse me... is that a service dog?". I said "Yes..." and he immediately asked "What is she servicing?" before I could say anymore. Before I could answer his wife said "We're not allowed to ask that". He started arguing, exclaiming that there were two questions he was allowed to ask and that was the other one. I asked if she was making him uncomfortable (again, a 16-pound Goldendoodle...) and that's when he began to explain that he was "actually an owner". I told him I'd already been asked about her service status by an employee and showed him her identification. He then started quizzing me on what he was and was not allowed to ask me about Pippa's service status. I found this strange, rude, and unprofessional... you'd think an owner of a restaurant would know what he was or was not allowed to ask. When I said I didn't think they were allowed to ask me anything at all he seemed taken aback, said "OK, not a problem" and went back to his table two feet behind me. Then, literally minutes later he pushed his phone in my face with a Google search open exclaiming, "So I looked it up and I am allowed to ask...". I interrupted him asking if he wished for us to leave. He immediately backed off, saying "No, no, it's ok..." and went back to his lunch once again. My wife sat down right around this time and I quietly explained to her what happened in her absence. The whole ordeal was strange and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable during our lunch; I wasn't able to enjoy myself with an inhospitable owner sitting directly behind me the entire time. I understand this is a new place and they're likely trying to do things by the book, but this guy caused more harm than good. I'd already been asked by a staff member in a far more professional and courtesy manner whether Pippa was a service dog. That should have been the end of it. She wasn't causing any problems or disturbing anyone, but for some reason this "owner", who apparently wasn't on the clock, felt the need to harass me and make for an extremely uncomfortable visit. My advice to this particular owner: keep your mouth shut and enjoy your lunch the next time you're dining at your own establishment if you aren't on the clock. Leave your employees to inquire whether an animal is service or not. They're clearly better trained and more courteous than you are. Needless to say I won't ever go back to Jack's and won't recommend it to friends. If you have a dog, service or otherwise, I'd stay away. Apparently at least one of the owners isn't a dog person and he'll let you know it. read more

I've been to multiple Jack's locations, and this restaurant always exceeds my expectations. The food is consistently and refreshingly delicious; the ingredients are of great quality and I feel confident that I'm getting what I pay for. Jack's offers a wide variety - their salads are huge, fresh, and topped generously, and their sandwiches are filling and flavorful. My sampling of side options have shown them to be consistently delicious (when it comes to french fries, I've tasted my fair share), and I'm eager to try their mac and cheese next. For those who have allergies or are a bit pickier, Jack's accommodates with a build-your-own salad option alongside some more typical kid-friendly fare (think chicken tenders and fries). Jack's also offers local brews on tap (including Calicraft). With a spacious, clean restaurant (and plenty of outdoor seating), friendly staff, and simply delicious food, I'm adding Jack's to my list of go-tos. read more

Went here today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of food and short/quick moving line. The food choices and ordering style seemed like a hybrid of Tender Greens/Lettuce/Plutos, for those familiar with Bay Area restaurants. Turkey is freshly​ roasted. I'm going to start off with the fact that I was drawn to this Jacks urban eats cause I mistakenly wrote a review about the other Jacks in pleasant hill and someone notified me I was posting a review on the wrong Jacks so after respectfully removing my post and checking out the WC Jacks menu and reviews I decided to stop by. When I came in I let them know I reviewed the wrong Jacks and someone acknowledged me and knew exactly what I was talking about lol... So I ordered the Tri Tip plate with mashed potatoes and broccoli & cheese with a side salad. And the food was really good. The tri tip was very lean and perfectly seasoned with their au jus. The mashed potatoes were nice and thick real mashed potatoes with little pieces of skin in them. The broccoli and cheese was perfectly cooked tender with a snap and lightly covered with cheddar cheese. I really enjoyed the simple home style cooking. And best of all Austin (who acknowledged me at first when I mentioned my posting) and I found out was a part owner came to my table to make sure I was enjoying my food and when I was done eating he explained the many options of ordering and special ordering I can do and even mentioned how "picky" I can be if I choose to which I really appreciated because I am very picky ;.) lol. But because of the fresh food and how personable Austin was to me I give five stars and I definitely will return. I've been craving Urban Fries and never seem to go to Sac but now I don't have to because Jacks UrbanEats is in my town :) wonderful friendly staff, great sandwiches, and fries. Mmm mm mm! This is my go to for fast, fresh, and healthy. I love the Turkey Dinner Plate with roasted veggies. The turkey is freshly carved and meat is so juicy! Comes with a little bit of cranberry sauce. Love this place! My husband and I used to go here a lot when we lived in Sacramento. Since moving to concord we have always reminisced about our jacks urban eats visits. When I found out there was going to be one basically next door to us, I went crazy! We love the steak salad and order it every time we go. Very clean establishment and amazing service! This is by far my favorite restaurant. Personally, I don't leave reviews very often but when I feel it is necessary, I will. Me and my grandmother walked in today and ordered build your own salad's, both of which were amazing. By the time we got to the side entrees my grandma had ordered the butternut squash. Since we are both celiac, she asked if it was gluten free. The manager walked up to us and said that it wasn't because it was made with soy sauce that had wheat in it. The best restaurant in Walnut Creek hands down. I work from home and am probably one of their top customers. I get the salad all the time and super fresh and delicious. Beets are unbelievable and the steak is perfect. Salad dressings are all amazing and my favorites are the Creamy Dill and Gorgonzola Balsamic. Sandwiches arent bad also and the Urban fries are solid as well. Their service is top notch also and great people who work there. Austin and Lucas run a great shop and am so thankful to eat these fresh meals so frequently. Just Awesome. read more
