I eat at other Jack's Urban Eats in the Sacramento area regularly, so I was excited to try out this new location in the bay area. Unfortunately, the salad I had at this location was just not as good as the other locations. Perhaps Jack's is a franchise that has loose controls on its locations? The negatives compared to other Jack's: 1) The "mixed greens" in their salads do not contain nearly the same amount of dark greens - it seemed like just lots of romaine lettuce. 2) There are fewer salad ingredients: no pickled onions, no grapes which are two of my go-tos 3) The toppings were _super_ cold. I hope these are just temporary issues, because otherwise, Jack's is great. read more

Giving 1 star for the taste of food only. The food here is fantastic BUT if you want to eat here, either get here early or you need at least 2 people, 1 to order the food and 1 to be prepared to fight for a table. They need to be seating people because the lack of common courtesy of human kind means even if you've already got your food and you're standing there waiting for a table, someone else is going to take the table first. They also forgot to make part of our order, served about 10 people after we ordered, and part of it was packed Togo while part was plated for here (we ordered it for here). Super delicious! Service is fast also!! I got a pesto chicken sandwich and it came with a peperoncini and a pickle. I highly recommend the pesto chicken if you come here! And I also decided to get some garlic fries and it was a big sized portion, but enough to share with two people. The garlic fries were a 10/10. However, I came here maybe two years ago and they had burgers I believe or at least a portobello burger and it was really good but when I recently went, they didn't have it on the menu?! Delicious! This place just opened and it was packed- one of us had to snag a table while the other ordered. We tried the Banh Mi sandwich and Turkey Berry and a side order of garlic Parmesan fries. Yummy!! They had a selection of different fountain drinks- we tried the cucumber lemonade and mango iced tea- both delicious. The food is wonderful, however the customer service is another story. All but one girl was very nice even though they were exceedingly busy. The girl with short curly hair not only butted in while I was ordering with her coworker-which would have been fine had she not been a total B about it- but then proceeded to make a snide comment about my order. I got a bahn mi no daikon mix (im allergic to radish and have a feeding disorder) and she said "that's just meat and bread". If you would like to make a snide comment about other people's food without knowing their dietary restrictions do it when they are out of earshot. Extremely unprofessional and completely ruined my experience, I do not need to be judged for what I order when I am paying a pretty high price for the food. I sincerely hope she doesn't do that with other customers and I hope she is fired if she does do that to other customers. F you lady, I have enough troubles ordering at places with my food restrictions and I don't need employees making snide comments about me to my face when I try to be as nice as possible about MY restrictions seeing that they are mine. Do it when I'm gone just like every other food service worker. Went to lunch here today and it's was ok/good. The service was fantastic! First I had a side of mashed potatoes that were awesome and the classics turkey sammich which was generous and pretty tasty. I had all white turkey and, that might be my fault, but it was a bit dry. Ordered a turkey club to go for hubby and they said they were out of sliced white but offered a slice white roll instead...genius! But alas, he said the turkey was dry. My friend had a lovely Santa Fe salad that was also a big portion...she ate it all and loved it. Will definitely eat here again...just brine the turkey or roast it less! read more

This is a great spot for a quick lunch. I appreciate ordering at the front and then being able to pick up within the next couple of minutes. I ordered the tri-tip salad and the tomato bisque soup. The salad was great, and a nice size for lunch. The soup was good, however I will admit is sweeter than I expected, and would have preferred something with less sugar. They have a good selection of sides to go along with your sandwiches and or solids such as macaroni and cheese, mashed potatoes, broccoli with cheese. This is one of the greatest places I've ever been! The selection is great on top of the good pricing. My family and I love to eat here!!! The kids meals are very good quality and the kids love them. My husband has tried multiple sandwiches and has enjoyed them all. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The build-your-own salad was delicious. Loved the sesame dressing. I'm disappointed however that the meat doesn't seem to be organic??? If it is, I couldn't find that information on their website. Transparency is hard to come by these days. In Oakland when a restaurant claims to be "fresh farm-to-table" style, the meats and vegetables are typically organic and grass fed. Why is it so hard to find this in Walnut Creek? The public is more aware than ever of the dangers of pesticides and added hormones/antibiotics since they have been well documented. We demand better quality food and hope that these types of places like Jack's Urban Eats will go all the way in providing healthy sources of food. read more

I've been here many times and usually it's always a mixed bag on service or food. It's been a few months since we've been here so we ordered a Chinese chicken salad with dressing on the side, not to complicated. The nice girl taking the order understood it quite fine. We were rang up and paid, sat down and waited for our food. The cashier was not really friendly but what can ya do? Food comes brought out by same cashier, drenched in dressing. I politely commented that we requested dressing on the side. She then said in a sarcastic tone "alrighty, everything else fine?" Umm yeah the water is delicious... So we wait 10 minutes for the replacement salads to come out. Now they are correct with dressing on the side. Come to find out the lettuce is wilted (I guess heavy dressing would have covered that up, huh?) Barely any chicken about 1.5oz worth. 1 slice of cucumber among the whole salad, 4 tiny orange wedges the size of a quarter and one pencil thin strip of red bell pepper. And the rest the lettuce slaw. Not much for the $11 you pay per salad. Think in done with Jack's from now on. read more

Considering its this one it is the most expensive salad on the menu, I was disappointed. And it was super stinky no matter how much lime I squirted on it. AMAZING! I have been waiting so long for these guys to open and they did not disappoint! In this area it is difficult to find anything that is quick and affordable but still good quality. I used to be a frequent customer of the Sacramento location but since moving to the bay area have this been deprived of the awesomeness that is Jacks. I went yesterday on their opening day and had the lemon thyme chicken with a side of broccoli and mac and cheese. The food was even more amazing than I remember. The staff was so friendly and everyone seemed just generally happy to be working there and excited about opening. I am definitely going back for lunch today! read more
