I'm surprised there isn't already a review for Jackson's Wellsprings, and it makes me regret not taking a photo of the sign or any of the pool! Was planning a trip to Ashland and was looking for a place to camp. Not sure what terms I used that Jackson's Wellsprings came up, but I'm glad it did. Their website lists them as having: Spa facilities Therapeutic Massage Camping Facilities Reading about their camping, I saw they had teepee's also, and opted for one of them. My daughter (age 18) was thrilled with the idea of sleeping in a teepee, that is until the earwigs joined her in her sleeping bag. The teepee's have fire pits in the middle of them, and I'd suggest you go to Safeway and buy a bundle of 'kindling' wood, they were small strips of cedar perfect for making a small fire (and they smell nice too) If you're expecting a posh 'spa' experience though, you'll be sadly disappointed. The water is very sulfuric, and smells very bad. (I'd suggest you bring your own drinking water). Campground (and RV) guests are free to use the pool and spa facilities for free. I'd suggest you shower at the pool (mornings are reserved for guests only) rather than the showers near the camp sites. It's just a little cleaner, and the water smells just as bad. I think the place has year round residents, as there are cottages (look to be single room, no bathroom) on the perimeter of the campground lawn and a long row of mail boxes. They appear to have facilities for large group gatherings, but there was nothing scheduled when we were there. Night swimming is "adult only" and clothing optional - so be aware of that. The swimming pool is nice, and the hot pool is even nicer! Have yourself a home baked goodie available from the front desk - they even had Vegan cookies! read more

I came here about a week ago with some girlfriends. I can't speak to how everything is working but for Covid purposes they have a deal where you can have up to 6 people for $100 for 1.5h to rent out the soak pools and saunas for your private party only. It was so nice just to have our group together. The soak pool was 103 degrees and soooo nice. The facilities were clean. I guess my only suggestion would be for there to be some fresh water to fill up my water bottle. The water fountain has the lithia water that is naturally a rotten egg smell. read more

I love the wellsprings. However I am actually leaving this review for the peoples open mic..Held every Wednesday night from 8-10 PM The space held by Nick is so amazing and healing. I have never experienced an open mic like this. It is for any one, from experienced sharers to people that have never publicly shared anything. Everyone has 7 minutes to share anything from a song, to a poem, to just expressing... It is extremely liberating and I have witnessed many openings in myself and others at this event. Came here as park of our US road trip from New Zealand. Small campground, however the hot pool and other pool is great and only costs $10 for the pool which is a bargain. In terms of car camping its just a grass lot near where the tents are camped. There is power at car camping and RV camping slots. We came in the winter so there was heaps of availability but I would recommend booking ahead during busy seasons. Only downside for me was the permanent residents that live in a section of the campground, slightly odd people and one woman said she would "cut" my girlfriend. However the staff were nice and great value for money. Just be aware of the odd dodgy person around. Ashland, town near by, is great and has lots of quirky and nice shops read more

My Girlfriend and I went to Jackson Wellsprings on 19 July 2022. We had been to this place about 3 weeks prior and had a great experience at that time. On July 19,2022 it was getting close to the end of the 1st session of the day. The attendant on duty might be a pervert! At the end of the session He came into the mens's shower and asked if we were leaving and done with the session. I am a man and was naked. He could have made that inquiry from outside the shower stall and there was no need for eye to eye contact for that communication. Then to make matters worse the attendant on duty ( same guy) that day and time... entered the threshold of the female changing room and asked the same thing. Although he did not make eye contact with my GF. Either this guy was just pushy and not thinking about things or he just might like to look at naked men and women. My GF was furious. We came up from Sacramento, CA. No way he should be getting that close to naked customers. His voice was loud and clear!! from afar. I am not convicting this guy .... but WTF. I've been a member since 2015, and this was my first visit back since the COVID outbreak. Never have I been given such terrible customer service when visiting. We made reservations and were slightly late due to our dinner taking longer than expected. The boy who checked us in was so passive aggressive during our entire 5 minute interaction. Kept telling us how bad he wanted to leave, how we should've showed up on time, and in the future need to show up on time. Wouldn't let it go. Called us party poopers when we first got there. Passive aggressive comments were not in a playful manner. We asked about the extra we paid for members who couldn't make it, and he snapped at us and told us it's only fair for them to take the funds since we were late. We were just inquiring and even when we agreed, he gave us the smirk and said "I'm glad you agree with me on that". Wouldn't look at us in the eyes. You could tell he was very upset. We were super nice but he just wouldn't let up. It almost seemed like he was trying to get a rise out of us, or maybe I still can't believe people actually act like that. read more

I love this place! They have a huge pool and a wonderfully therapeutic sulfur hot pool along with steam room and sauna. Cant believe how cheap it is for all they offer. The only negative is that it's not always so clean, lots of kids in hot tub whose parents let them act up in any way they want with excuse of "letting them freely express themselves". And the massage is horrible. I had an older woman who did not seem to even know how to give a massage. Do they even have a massage license? read more

I am really into saunas and hot tubbing. Was in the neighborhood and decided to visit the YMCA. Went in for a soak and was astonished and flabbergasted they wanted TWENTY DOLLARS for a day pass!! :( I can honestly say I'll never again visit the YMCA, ever. I called up Jackson Wellsprings and I was delighted to hear that if I buy a ten-punch card it costs $75, meaning that each visit is only $7.50 =) Not to mention the soaking facilities are far nicer than the dingy little Y. Jackson Wellsprings has an unprofessional and rude manager. I purchased tent camping for one night and an "all inclusive" spa package. I was told that I could use the pools, sauna, steam room and private tubs. They required a code to enter the spa area. I used one of the private jacuzzi tub rooms. The tub was dirty and I had to clean it before using it. The jacuzzi tub function did not work. The cold water was barely a trickle. I felt like I was going to break the handle because it was not attached properly. When I left the tub room, the manager approached me and said, "did you pay for that?" in a very rude and hostile manner. I informed the manager that I did pay for it. The manager did not ask me for my name. They assumed I was stealing. They told me that this room was "separate" and I would have to "pay for it immediately." The code for the spa area was changed. I could not open the door to get my things. I gave the person at the front office my name and informed them about what happened. They said that it was a "misunderstanding" and I did pay for it when I arrived. The manager did not apologize. The trash and recycling cans were overflowing. I saw trash throughout the tent camping grounds as well. The men's lockers were rusted, bent and broken. I suggest installing wooden lockers instead of metal. The dry sauna was not hot enough. The warm and cool pools seemed dirty. The environment is in need of some TLC. This place has potential. Unfortunately, poor management has reflected negatively upon this business. read more

Beautiful gardens and Goddess temples to Saunders through, and the best, the natural hot mineral springs to relax any time of day or evening in. THIS A REVIEW FOR THE SPRINGS - NOT THE CAMPGROUNDS. The wellsprings offer a steam room, a sauna, a spring fed hot tub, and a huge cold water pool. After the sun goes down a "clothing optional" rule sets in. The locker rooms are suffice offering a couple benches and sulfur showers to rinse off BEFORE (emphasis on the all-caps BEFORE) and after your soak. There is usually a very calm and mellow atmo consisting of silence to group chanting and the occasional didjeridoo in the sauna and steam rooms. Sometimes people pour water and scented water on the rocks even though a sign outside the door advises against this. But this is Ashland, who follows signs, man? On occasion the wellsprings holds shows and you can hear them whilst soaking and they offer vegan treats in the main office. I like the wellsprings because its a no-frills facility to relax, sweat out your demons, and forget about that dude that cut you off on the highway. read more

It's an alternative goldmine that needs some attention and TLC. The grounds and buildings are all in disarray and the buildings almost falling apart. I can't see that they do any preventive maintenance. The big pool and hot water pool is refreshing however again, some TLC is warranted. The clientele is hippy and generally quite friendly. The staff seems convinced that when you ask for the daily pool access number that you are trying to steal from them. That's a bummer when you just paid for the camping spot last night. An attitude of innocent until proven guilty would be preferred! If you need a quick and convenient place to pitch your tent in Ashland when all hotels are full, then this place works. read more

I do read reviews! and I have never had a bad experience with this place, It has a rustic forest feel as for the employees they have always been nice to my guests and myself, so reading the reviews of people that expect the "Ritz" then complaining about it, I can see you are in the wrong place. I wish I could say it was an oasis in a desperate desert but this area is beautiful, and Jackson isn't the only spring in the area. Still, coming down from a stressful day of driving often we are looking for the simple, quick, or cheap method. Nothing cheap about Jackson though, at $25. Even considering that most campgrounds charge $30 or so, it's a lot to pay just for bathroom access and a small sliver of land to use. I really wanted to use the sauna and spa, for health reasons. I got here late Sunday night and just forgot to remind myself that Monday's all of the facilities would be closed. He didn't mention it, but did mention that in the morning swimsuits were mandatory - they were optional at night. I was exhausted and as the days blend together during this mode of living, it didn't register to me. So upon waking and getting my towel and trunks out, and proudly walking to the front gate-i was instead greeted by the closed sign. Other than that, this place is okay. There is some highway noise, and it is constant. What I didn't expect though was the noise from campers laughing and talking so close to my car. They probably didn't think they were loud and it's my fault for parking near a log that folks could sit on and talk. The attendant told me they make coffee and oatmeal but since everything is closed, I think that's off until tomorrow as well. Too bad. The bathrooms were close-by and required a code to enter. They smelled of over-moisture and were filthy. There was no soap and I was told the hot water would cease at 10pm, resuming at 7am. The park contains quite a few mobile homes, a couple of "hippie buses," and many tent campers. Some folks seemed to just come and go. There are picnic benches and chairs here and there for your use. The property itself is nice and despite the noise, you can certainly find refuge here. read more

I came here many, many times during my stay at SOU. I never thought it was worth the money, but did like hanging out with people there. Often I saw people naked there I wish I hadn't. For example, my math tutor from school. Can't say it didn't make things awkward Monday morning. So be prepared for naked hippies and people reeking of weed. I can say I always felt nice and rejuvenated after a couple hours here. I liked going in the hot part and then into the cold water. I always steered clear of the sauna. I swear EVERY SINGLE TIME I went in the sauna there was some 50 year old wrinkly dreaded man playing a rainstick or something to that effect. I do wish that they had more hot pools. I liked going to this place, but wouldn't consider it a special little gem. read more

This place is lovely! It's different and I think hence some of the negative reviews. It doesn't smell bad it smells like sulfur which is in the water. Kids don't like it but adults usually recognize it as the mineral. The steam room is lovely the sauna is upgraded and the pool is great if you dare get in it when it's chilly! If you're coming through Ashland this is definitely a spot to check out! It's not the most fancy of Mineral Springs but it's a cheap entrance, hot sulphuric water, and full of creative colorful people ...and there's always some interesting event or another going on :-) One of my highlights is the Wednesday evening open mic which gathers people from all types of backgrounds for music, stories, poetry and anything else that people who want to share. Nick, who heads it up, is amazing and really goes with the flow. They allow each Wednesday to take on its own unique experience. Looking forward to the next time I come through town:-) read more

This is a cool hippie/spiritual place. Staff is always warm and welcoming and more than happy to let people know to quite down if needed on a busy weekend evening. Much appreciated! The water is fantastic it is so healing and I feel so rejuvenated every time. Guest are usually so friendly. This is a lot of bang for your $10. Granted it is not a high end spa or sauna, but it's not suppose to be. It defiantly could use some updates or upgrades. It's more like an Earthy granola place to chill and relax. It has a wet & dry sauna, pool and hot tub. So it gets the soak, relax, and detox job done. Also it provides a great place for the community for many events, music, dance, and spiritual classes of many sorts. Jackson Wellsprings is not just a great place to soak, but to find a list of so many events that meet you where you are in personal growth by great teachers is a real gift to this community. Case in point, the weekly Wednesday Open Mic Night that I attended for the first time this week - led by Mickey and Alexis. As a coach for helping people find their gifts and voice, I have attended a lot of workshops and venues for people to find their creative gifts, and on this night - I was splendidly filled with the whole collective energy of the group of 40 people - being facilitated by it's gifted leaders in a magic spell of meeting, sharing and supporting each and every person. Mickey, who I've learned has spent years doing his own work inner-journey work with shamans of Peru and visioneering to be a leader to open people's soul gifts in music, theater and performance - conjures up a sacred space and divining container where I could sense every person having the space to be able to feel true to themselves and safe to be vulnerable and willing to open to be seen, heard and met. DON'T DO IT!!! I have had THREE close friends/family members (unrelated) get MRSA infections right after visiting this place. It is not clean, they do not enforce their shower and cleanliness policies, they do not maintain the waters to a sufficient standard, and I am amazed they haven't been shut down by the health department yet. There is a large transient population that frequents this place, which I believe, sadly, is partially responsible for the uncleanliness. read more

We went there with our toy hauler with the intentions of camping and taking our boys into the hotsprings. When we arrived we noticed that it is definitely NOT a campground, it is a residence for many people (mobile homes, motor homes and buses). They had 3 small spaces for actual campers in the center surrounded by residents. As I am sure it is a great place to live for some, it was definitely not what we expected from the pictures as a family friendly place to camp. read more

A whole ordeal to convince / remind them we paid for camping for 2 the night before, and thus it felt like a total hassle to use the facilities. I came with my friend and we felt completely unwelcome by the staff and other customers. A customer mocked us about cell phones as soon as we arrived even though neither of us had one out. The staff was passing sample soaps to everyone except us, we weren't sure if it was because we were younger or seemed poorer. You must not bring any valuables unless you bring your own lock, and I couldn't even leave to put my valuables in my car without losing access to the hot springs. I am immunocompromised from an auto immune disease, so we appreciated that the hot springs were reservation only and I was expecting that there would be enough space in the pool to take my mask of and relax but it was so crowded that I could not take off my mask. The staff let people in without a reservation, and you were not allowed to talk at the pool. There was only room for us to sit on the steps at the tiny hot pool and we had to leave after 20 minutes disappointed and heartbroken because the property was gorgeous and the water was nice the few minutes we were in. This was the last place we expected to feel unwelcome. This is only a place for you if you are older, comfortable with not social distancing, and comfortable with silence. Don't being a friend you would want to chat with while soaking. I truly hope that I do not become that bitter about young and disabled people when I get older. read more

My friend took me to this Open Mic a couple weeks ago that she said was really interesting. She said that you sit in a big circle and it's anything goes and the people not performing have to really be aware of really paying attention. She was so hoping they were doing super funny wise puppet shows that they do a couple times a month. The main man instead did his piece on saying he was going to give an example of white magic and if we did "the assignment" then to honor where it came from.... we write a good review for the wellsprings. Now two weeks later I find myself doing the assignment on how to do white magic. So therefore...... He told us that years ago he had a great plan or wish to move to the virgin island in 10 months and he told a friend there to keep an eye out for a free place. As the months winded down nothing was popping up so he decided to move up his frequency so to align with a higher dimension to make it easier to get that free place. white magic. This is the assignment: it was a week before christmas so he made christmas cards for 11 people at a christmas gathering. The cards were 8x14 blank card stock. Make christmas cards and cut out little cartoon characters about an inch big out of the newspaper or draw little cartoons and make them have a big bubble of words. Have the cartoons say how they met and what the best memories of them are and then really get into having these cartoons say what you really love about them, what you really specifically value about them. Tell them about the areas you see them as gifted. kind of like you are giving them a master degree in something very particular to them. He gave them out and he said it switched into a higher dimension in which people got lighter from being seen and he got a call the next day from his friend only a few days before moving there. His friend met this 23 year old who was housesitting for the next year with a huge observatory house at the very top of the mountain and was wanting to live with like minded (music, massage, yoga) people It all worked out great. He feels it was that uplifting deed of making those cards that made him more open to recieving the gifts of life. Okay here's the thing, the best time to come to the spa is on Monday after the pools have been deep-cleaned. Unfortunately for some (but something I am greatful to benefit from) Monday is ladies night. So if this doesn't apply to you, Tuesday would be the second best. Any other day of the week and especially into the weekend, I would recommend renting a private tub for the 90 minutes. It's actually my favorite part of the spa, it's secluded away form the many people's who frequent the spring and you can tailor the fresh water to your liking. After your private room time is up you can spend the rest of the day going between the sauna, steam room, and geothermal pool. This way you can skip the communal hot tub which by the end of the week can get kind of gross. I don't usually go in the communal hot tub personally. As others have stated, the campground is pretty hippy trailer-parky. I try not to camp here when I make the 5 hour trip out to the rogue river area, but the hotspring itself is a really beautiful thing. I am always so thankful to be able to soak in one of oregon's deeply nourishing springs. read more

A regular stop for me when I travel the 5. Cheaper than a truck stop shower, and wayyyy better. The pool itself is humble, but the community that surrounds it is rich. Walking the goddess/oak temple & garden area is always a treat while in a lithium-water-induced state of lethargy. The snacks made here are very yummy; I often get seasonal soup and homemade popsicles (persimmon flavor was amazing!) there are cool community offerings too such as yoga, ecstatic dance, pagan holiday celebrations, and small concerts. read more

This has got to be the most racist facility I have ever been to. In addition to treating our entire family poorly they were also rude to friends of ours, also POC. Both my husband and I have traveled extensively, patronized many spas and have also frequented undeveloped springs, this is hands down the worst place we have ever visited that claims to be a healing center. I am not sure what is more offensive, the new age facade or the outright hatred of multi ethnic or black families or the gossipy/ unprofessional environment. It is important to note we prepurchased an extended stay visit, as they offer R.V. camping as well and we ended up leaving early. The land itself is beautiful and rich in heritage, I am sure, but the people running this place were so rude and downright mean to our family and friends. Also, it is a known fact, they allow drug and alcohol abusers to roam about freely on the premises and look at you strangely should you report it to them. One particular incident that occurred, among many others, was that I was socializing with another guest of the springs. We both happen to have been massage therapists and did some massage exchange in the warm pool. Later he was approached by staff members warning him to not socialize with me because me and my husband were Mexican and Mexican husbands are known to be violent when it comes to their wives. When he continued spending time with our family, the staff came up with some ridiculous reason to throw him out. It is a very gossipy place, far from professional. First of all, in spite of their presumption and general nosiness, my husband and I have a mature, trusting and honest relationship. He is completely at ease with me interacting with people from the opposite gender and always has been. Secondly we are not Mexican. I am black and white and my husband is Puerto Rican. Finally we both liked this individual and decided to leave when we discovered he was unjustly forced to leave. I have seriously considered suing them for their outright racist behavior and words towards our friends and family and have spoken with others in the community who feel the same way. For a place that tries to portray an image of peace, love, healing and goddess worship, they are failing miserably. This place has great potential but truly needs new ownership/management.
