    Carnitas enchilada

My sister was in town and wanted to celebrate her birthday here with a small group of family members. She made reservations and we got an 8 top right in the center of the restaurant. The music was soooo loud, it was hard to converse or maybe the speaker was right over our table. They played a lot of disco and 80s which I didn't mind. We got a selection of appetizers for the table to share. The onion rings were good but the bleu crab Rangoon egg rolls tasted a bit off (I've had them before at the Old Market location and they were excellent there). I ordered the Jams fish tacos with the beer-battered mahi and they were good but not fantastic. I got the vibe that everyone felt that way about their meals. The red chili rice tasted bland and the chipotle black beans had a smokey flavor but were not my favorite. Our server did check on us often and kept the drinks and water coming. It was a nice outing but I wouldn't rush to return here again.

Carnitas Enchilada! Bomb! Don't sleep on the scampi either. It's $17 but so worth it.

The food definitely does not disappoint. The scampi is to die for. I got the carnitas enchilada and my husband got the fish and chips and both were fantastic. Our server was great as well.

When you can see the dressing pooling at the bottom, you know it's too much.

I dine at Jams a lot! Someone in the kitchen got out of hand with the dressing. My lettuce and everything else was drenched. I realize I failed to tell them I wanted the dressing on the side, but I think that should be a standard question that the wait staff asks. And please stop spraying your cleaner on the table. The smell in the offspring is more than a Diner wants to deal with, sitting at the next table.

Jams Legacy Short Rib Tacos - I thought these tacos were super good. I'd probably give it an 8/10. I also love cabbage, and there is a lot on the tacos. It comes with a side of smoked gouda white cheddar mac and cheese, and it was fire. 9.5/10 Coconut chicken half salad- my mom and aunt got this & I know they liked it. It's a little hard to mix in the bowl given, but it's a good salad! My mom said this is one of her favorites, and she gets it every time she goes to Jams!

Jams is my go to spot for appetizers and a quick cocktail. This location is a bit smaller than its other stores, but it's a very open concept. The staff is so friendly and they are quick to offer suggestions. We tried the chicken nachos which were amazing. They are loaded with lots of toppings and the most delicious cilantro crema. The portions are average sized. We also go the ginger curry potstickers which we loved so much, we got a second order. For drinks, I got a blood orange margaraita which was great, but the best cocktail award goes to the pear and pomegranate martini was *chef's kiss* Great spot for happy hour and speedy service!

    PARMESAN CHICKEN

We ordered 3 Parmesan chicken so burnt they served them black. The Mac was good the rib eye questionable.

Options | portions | Chicken Sandwich Options - there menu is pretty comprehensive. They have daily chef specials which rotate often, so be sure to check out that menu every day. Their standard menu has a comprehensive selection which a good amount of flavor and complex combinations. So before you change the meal, be sure to check with the chef to make sure you aren't messing up your pallet. Portions - their portions are pretty substantial given the price point. Their appetizer order of fries for example is a health bowl that easily satisfies a table of 4 and sufficiently satisfied a table of 6. The chicken sandwich was pretty large. The chicken is about 10-18% larger than the bun it comes with. The side of vegetables is pretty sizable as well. Chicken sandwich - I had the chicken sandwich minus cheese and bacon. It was great. The flavoring is savory and sweet and overall a unique taste when compared to the normal/standard chicken sandwich. I highly recommend and would definitely get it again. Pro tip: this restaurant is associated with the JAMS in old market. However, this restaurant is significantly smaller. So if you go during peak hours be sure to get a reservation. Pro tip: there is more than sufficient parking. They are located in a strip mall, therefore it's a massive parking lot.

    Crab Rangoon Egg Rolls

I had such an amazing meal at Jams last week. We ordered the crab rangoon egg rolls and they were HEAVENLY. They came with this delicious peanut sauce that I could have drank like water. They had a bit of a kick but I like spicy. We will definitely be ordering those again. I ordered a red sangria and it was just OK. Nothing fancy. I didn't taste any booze in it, it was filled with more ice than sangria and it was pretty pricey at $10. Hard pass on that one. The coconut chicken salad came highly recommended and that's what I ordered. It was absolutely perfect. One of the best salads Ive ever had and I can see why it was a best seller at Jams. It was out of this world! Slightly sweet sauce over the crispy chicken breast. Creamy avocados and hearty artichokes. Lightly dressed lettuce. Seriously. Perfect. Our waitress Madeline was so sweet and attentive. She immediately fixed a slight change on my order before I even saw it and checked on us regularly. Amazing experience from start to finish. I've been dreaming about that salad so I know I'll be back soon!

My first at this location was great! We we're sat in the party room, so we missed a little of the hustle and bustle of the main room but had great service. I didn't catch out servers name, but he made excellent drink recommendations, including being very candid about certain wines that we should avoid. We were thrilled with our wine choice. We had already snacked a bit before we arrived so we split an appetizer, the cashew chicken strips. They were a little too heavily breaded but had great flavor. Over all good experience and good service for a Saturday night.

    Waffle Fries

Happy Hour was a great call! We ordered the waffle fries and mac n cheese - The mac was on the lighter side so I actually threw it on top of the waffle fries! It helped every single bite of the waffle fries to be full. We were stuffed with 2-3 appetizers, got a great deal and it was a good visit! We'll definitely be back! Service was good.

My wife and I both ordered the Everett's #2 with pulled chicken, coleslaw, and BBQ sauce. Everything just worked together perfectly. The chicken was tender, the slaw added the right crunch, and the bun tied it all together. It was one of those sandwiches where after the first bite you just look at each other and know you made the right choice. We also ordered the Saucy Rossy wings and they were the perfect heat level for both of us. Not so mild that they're boring and not so hot that you're suffering. Pro tip: get them fried and grilled. The extra texture and flavor are absolutely worth it. My wife is a total Brussels sprouts snob and she was absolutely in love with theirs. The funny part is that I'm usually not much of a Brussels sprouts person, but I kept asking for more off her plate. That alone should tell you how good they were. The fries were okay. Nothing that stole the show, but nothing to complain about either. The service wasn't the best during our visit, but they also had a 30-person table they were dealing with, so it was completely understandable. Even with that, the food was so good that it's already a top 3 meal for my wife. We'll definitely be thinking about those sandwiches, wings, and Brussels sprouts until we're back, and I don't think that'll take very long.

The duck was cooked perfectly and the bok choy that came with it added a perfect amount of crunch and mustard flavor. The tagliatelle was rich and the variety of mushrooms in the sauce added so much umami. We look forward to returning!

It was kind of cool to see it very empty, because we could admire all the goat accents around the interior and the cool bar, without a million people around it. There was a brunch menu at that early hour, but we decided to stick with the normal menu. Our server was great, and definitely very attentive since we were the only party in the place the entire time we were there. I had just had dental surgery so there were only a few things I could eat. I got the Meatballs appetizer (to cut up and have some meat in my stomach) and the French Onion Soup, which was the soup of the day. The French Onion Soup was super creamy and delicious. I'm used to there being just sort of darker brown with the cream and cheese on top only. This was totally cream colored and hearty. It came with a few pieces of bread points too that were good to dip/soak in the soup. My more substantial part of my meal, the meatballs, were a little less appetizing though. First off they came in a bowl, so they are not easy to cut at all (being giant meatballs, I would think anyone would want to cut them a little). And secondly, the meatballs themselves were kind of flavorless. There was some marina style sauce in the bowl with them, but the meat of the meatballs themselves had no seasoning or flavor. My husband got the caesar salad with chicken, and he was not a huge fan. It was way too heavily dressed that the salad leaves were almost wilty, and the chicken that was in the salad was cut in huge pieces - not easily eaten without sawing at the huge bits. So the food was not the star at this visit (except for the side of French onion soup), but the service and atmosphere were still great. I would return to Stokin' Goat but maybe choose some other items next time, when I can eat more substantial food.

Ok the other hand, the service is rather iffy & unpredictable. The chicken & waffles is my go-to for each visit, and they have many types of delicious sides to choose from, with my favorites being the biscuits & berries, goat cheese grits, and also the fried green tomatoes. I have zero problems with the food that they serve here, they always do an excellent job at preparing whatever they need to prepare & the portions are always satisfactory. As for the service, there are days where you will receive perfect service while on others the service is not so great. Some days you will be attended to in a timely manner, while there is other days where there isn't anyone available or willing to seat you somewhere. I've also experienced instances where they didn't attend to our table to take orders until I made a complaint. Most of these instances were during days where the place was virtually empty so it's not because of the place being busy. I've also ordered take out from here before, again some instances are perfect and there's other instances where they don't tell you if a certain food is out of stock via text or call so if you ordered something that isn't in stock, you're forced to wait for them to prepare something else once you arrive to pick up your order. They also don't always include syrup or butter in the takeout bags for chicken & waffles. One minor thing I'm also disappointed about is how the portion of grits has lessened over time, going from being served in a bowl to instead being served in a small cup/mug. Overall, I certainly don't return for the service because you never really know if it's going to be a good day or a bad day for that. It's always the food that brings me back. I do want to like this place, and I do to an extent but again the service is always unpredictable. I'd still say the food is worth coming here to see how it goes.

After a couple of minutes, I went back up to the counter and asked if they had already started making it, because I wanted to change my order. It wasn't just what he said. It was the kind energy in his eyes. I felt someone who took pride in what he was making, and who genuinely wanted people to be happy. I found myself asking, why am I crying? Because in a world where so many people in power feel disconnected, where corporations can make us feel like numbers, being genuinely cared for in a small café reminded me how much I love humans. Most people have love in their hearts and are trying to share it in their own small ways. As the world cracks, these simple things are more meaningful than ever.
