My family's favorite sandwich shop. We come here at least once a month if not more. For only $8.59 you can get the Manager's special: a half-sandwich and one-time trip to the salad bar. The sandwich comes with a side of chips. For an additional cost, you can substitute the chips for fruit. However, my cashier added the fruit on for no additional cost so I didn't refuse that. After ordering, you sit down and they bring your food to you. I got the chicken panini as my half-sandwich. A 100% antibiotic-free chicken breast with provolone, basil pesto, Roma tomatoes, and organic spinach within olive oil-basted New Orleans French bread. Yummm. With this delicious sandwich came a trip to the salad bar. Ah, the salad bar. One of the best things about Jason's Deli's is that they keep their salad bar replenished throughout the day with fresh ingredients. There's also puddings, organic flatbreads, and cake bites in the bar. Additionally, off to the side near the fountain drinks is free soft-serve ice cream. Come hungry and leave happy. This place is hit or miss. The food is pretty decent but they take forever making it. They are always slow here even when there isn't much traffic. If you have any plans don't come here as you will probably be spending your whole day waiting. The last time I came my family ordered takeout and it took over an hour before we got our food and there wasn't another customer in sight. Very poor experience again. I haven't gotten an order right or on time since Covid started. I place my orders online to make sure there is no confusion. Check order before you leave. Curbside at this location is useless. I watched people walk in place their order at the counter and leave while I'm still waiting on my order. 20 minutes in a curbside space is too long to wait when your app tells me my order is ready. This location can't handle anything but someone walking in and ordering. I hope corporate can make a visit and straighten them out. read more

I went to Jason's deli Monday evening around 6 pm (10/18/21) to get a cup of brocolli Cheese and a quarter muffalatta. Food was fine. The restaurant was not. There was food sitting on tables that had not been bussed in a while, the outside table (outside the front door) had food that had not been picked up in a while (dry, crusty and flies) I was in the restaurant for about 40 minutes and employees walked by all these talbes and did not do anything to clean up (was not that busy) The area in the back where you get your drinks, spoons, napkins etc. was not clean, the salad bar looked fine. But this is not acceptable and not what I expected at Jason's... Also, your employees looked like zombies. No good vibe at all. Last time there! read more

Not your ethnic Deli with wonderful smells when you walk in. Bread was stale on the sandwich and meats are warmed in a microwave. Never seen a real deli do that, before. Potato chip bags hold 1oz. and you get half a dill pickle spear. Every corner cut by the owner. Restaurant was warm with extra floor fans on as to cut down on AC costs. Staff was not friendly. Just ok. I'm not a big Jasons fan in the first place so... I had a craving for a corned beef sandwich and swung by Jaz. I asked for a corn beef sandwich on rye with mustard and Swiss cheese. The sandwich had plenty of meat and it tasted good however, the bread was toasted then the sandwich assembled. As a result the cheese wasn't melted and the sandwich wasn't hot. On a 1-10 scale I give their Sammie a 6. My companion had the same complaints with her panini. I guess it'll do in a pinch for a quick bite but I'm not makin a habit out of it. read more

Salads, soups, spuds and sandwiches are always good at Jason Deli. They are very generous with their portion and you can't beat free ice cream to top off your meal. This Allen location is pretty clean. Salad bar is replenish frequently and kept clean. I like that they have a partial brick wall to not make it as open as before and offer the diners a bit of privacy while they load up at the salad bars. Everyone that works there is nice except for the guys at the end of the sandwich line. The ones that gives your salad plate. They act like they just don't want to be there. Been here many times one and never had any problems. Today the salad bar just didn't look good the mushrooms were look terrible and the lady showed me the back up container and it looked terrible to many things were not full and it was only 11 o'clock seemed opening time not sure why things wouldn't be full. I had such high hopes for this because I haven't been here in years, but I remember coming here and having so many good sandwiches and baked potatoes. What a freaking disappointment. Parking is ample in the lot and the ambience is exactly the same as any other jasons deli. The service is pretty good! Very friendly and helpful! I ordered a chicken pesto panini to go. It was promptly given to me and I headed out the door. This is where the good ends. I got home and there was two tiny pieces of chicken strips in my entire sandwich. I basically got a spinach sandwich. I can definitely find an $8 chicken sandwich with more chicken somewhere else. The two pieces and pesto tasted pretty good though. So I got that going for me. Jason's is a dependable restaurant but needs some reminders on staying on track: *Your black bean salad is misnamed. It should be called roasted corn salad with a sprinkling of other things in there including a few black beans. *The grilled cheese sandwich today had two thin pieces of cheese which did not cover the length of the bread. It was the gluten free bread which is even smaller than the regular bread and yet one half of my sandwich had almost no cheese. A grilled cheese sandwich needs more cheese! *When the order taker asks if I am ordering the gluten free bread because of choice or because of an allergy that violates HIPPA. I enjoy Jason's Deli for their nitrate free turkey, I don't know many other sandwich places that offer nitrate free meats as well as gluten free bread. I typically like to make my own sandwich and have never had a mix up or wrong order. I really enjoy their soups, the broccoli cheese is my usual go to, but their chicken tortilla is also delicious. They have Irish potato soup about once a year and I always make sure to visit when it is being promoted. The salad bar is very good, offering different types of lettuce and toppings as well cold pastas and potato salad.The salad bar is usually clean and well stocked. The staff is typically friendly, helpful, and accommodating. They have soft serve ice cream that comes free with your meal. The only complaint I have is that the floors need to be swept better and the windows wiped off. It looks disgusting sitting in a booth looking out the window seeing smudges and hand prints as well as salad and other debris on the floor. read more

I only ever come for the salad bar, so my review is for that. The salad bar area is always clean, and the items stay replenished. I can always count on the ingredients being fresh. I love that they offer plenty of non-salad items such as hummus, potato salad, and cold pastas. And of course dessert options like soft serve ice cream and pudding. It's a great price for what you're getting. The only thing I dislike is the croutons. They're so hard you can't even pierce them with your fork, even with using blunt force! Yesterday I stopped by Jasons Deli in Allen around 1:30 pm. The lunch rush was over...I was the only customer in the store...but there were 5-6 employees behind the counter fixing box lunches. I waited patiently near the cash registers to place my order. I had FOUR active employees who kept their back towards me during my entire visit. I cleared my voice a couple of times...no response. I spoke out and politely asked if they were still open. No response. No employee even turned around to look at me. I dropped my keys on the counter hoping someone would acknowledge my presence...and take my order. Shortly thereafter I gave up and walked out. This was my first visit to a Jason's Deli. It was a lot more cafeteria-like than I expected, but there were lots of interesting and healthy options on the salad bar, which was a pleasant surprise. My wife was happy with her smoked turkey sandwich on gluten-free bread (at no extra charge ... nice). I liked the salad bar, but it wasn't what I expected when I ordered what said "soup and salad bar" on the menu. In fact, you have to pick one soup, which they give you a cup of at the counter. I got seafood gumbo, and it was fine, but the whole idea I had going in was that I would get to try multiple soups (as the phrase "soup and salad bar" denotes). Our total (with one drink) was $17.38. I'll certainly try Jason's again (this location or another), but I'll probably order a sandwich next time. read more

I love Jason's Deli in general, but this one is right by my apartment. I love that they deliver, and the food is consistently fresh. They've never screwed up our order, either (which should be a standard, I know, but it seems like every time we get take-out, the order gets screwed up). Another thing--it's hard to get something quick AND healthy, but that can be done at Jason's. They have lots of salads, wraps, etc. and you can order fruit instead of chips. I usually get the same thing: California Club with no bacon, no mayo and fruit. Their tomato basil and broccoli cheddar soups are really good, though, too. Honestly, it's a hit-or-miss place. I go here for one thing only and it's when I'm craving my California Club (no sprouts) and a Fruit cup. I really like their avocado and fruit cups, and they do have a large variety of soups, salads and sandwiches. I do have to mention my one-time "not so good" experience though: The hubster and I stopped in for lunch one afternoon after a movie and it was in the middle of the day so hardly any customers were there at the time. Anyway, I ordered a sandwich with wheat sandwich bread and they brought our food to the table when it was ready. I was about to take a bite, but when I picked up the sandwich, I noticed a large moldy spot on the bottom side of the bread. I honestly don't know how they missed it when they made the sandwich because there was a LOT of mold on that piece. So, I took my plate back up to the counter and all the employee did was take the plate and said "we'll get you a new one". NO APOLOGY at all. I don't expect a refund or anything, because I know mistakes happen, but an apology is in order when you make a mistake. I like J-Dels and I was trying this one out for an early dinner. I'm giving this location 2 stars because of lack of common courtesy and friendliness. When we walked in, it was dead, which was expected, but we weren't greeted when we walked in and people were just hanging out and talking behind the counter. So, we walked to the salad bar ordering kiosk and ordered our stuff. I guess the receipt dispenser on the kiosk was jammed and I looked to see that the ticket printed at the counter. One staff member glanced at me and continued messing around behind the counter. I grabbed the ticket off of his register and walked to collect the plates and cutlery at the end of the counter. Loved my experience here. The food is great for a "chain" deli. The staff is very friendly. I ordered the panini chicken sandwich which included spinach and it was fresh and crispy. That tells me that not only do they serve up fresh ingredients but that my sandwich was not sitting long enough for it to wilt from the press and unlike other places it's probably the last ingredient they add. It's the little things that make the perfect sandwich and this was it for me. The staff here was very attentive....walking around cleaning tables and salad bar...asking people how everything was and checking if your drinks needed refills (which is self serve). Just overall very nice staff. Good job management! read more
