We ordered Jason's deli for lunch through DoorDash. I've lowered my expectations for restaurants and for delivery during the pandemic, knowing the struggles are real. The orders for four people arrived packaged separately and carefully. We had, collectively, a nutty mixed up salad wrap (mine, and it was frickin' awesome), a Reuben, a ham sandwich, and a deli club sandwich. We dived in so fast I only got one pic of my nutty mixed up salad wrap. We all raved about how good the food was. We get Jason's Deli carryout about once a week and they have really good food. I love their bigger better BLT! It's the best BLT I've ever had, bar none! I get it on a butter croissant. Their pain Jane baked potato is HUGE! It's the biggest baked potato I've ever seen! And it's so delicious! My husband tried the avocado toast the other night, as his meal, which was a huge mistake because they only provide you with TWO very small pieces of toast! We've never had such chincy avocado toast! And the sour cream they provide is weird! Do not put out on your toast without tasting it first because it's weirdly sweet! (Yuk! It's the only thing we've ever had their that's disgusting!) I was really hoping for more from this place. I really wanted to like it. We were out running errands in Polaris with our young daughters and needed a quick place to grab a bite to eat. When you arrive, you order at the counter and then the staff will bring your sandwich to your table (seat yourself). There is also a salad bar, which looked pretty appetizing, but I opted for a sandwich. I ordered the zucchini grillini and my wife had the tuna melt. My kids had a mac n cheese and a peanut butter & jelly from the kids' menu. Although we also ordered a soup and one drink, I was surprised that our bill was over $25. Listing everything we ordered here, I felt like the price was steep for what we had. Our food arrived very fast and this was the greatest benefit to the place. My sandwich tasted good, but it was very small. In fact, when it arrived, I was pretty sure they give me some child portion of the sandwich. I immediately wished I had gone to Panera. The good news is that the sandwich tasted pretty good. I also tried my daughter's peanut butter & jelly since she didn't seem to like it and the bread was too dry to eat. The crust was too hard for her to bite into. I don't know if the bread was old or if that's how it always is. I also tried my other daughter's mac n cheese and it was pretty good. She didn't eat much of it though. Another complaint I have is that I ordered a fountain pop and it was so watery I couldn't drink it. I tried the Dr. Pepper and the Coke and didn't finish either one. On the bright side, my wife enjoyed her tuna melt and french onion soup. She said she would order that again, especially picking it up to go if she was running errands in the area. They do have free soft serve ice cream for anyone who dines in - both vanilla and chocolate. I wasn't impressed with the ice cream either, but I can see why that would draw all of the families in. My grandson wanted to go to Jason's Deli (Polaris) for the "free" ice cream. I had been to another Jason's location in the past so I essentially knew what to expect. I'm from NJ/NYC area so I know what a good deli would offer. I did not have any expectation that it would be anything close to a authentic deli but we wanted the children to be happy so we agreed. I have to say... it was absolutely awful. The " Build your own" sandwich wasn't what I ordered... apparently the prep person had preferences I didn't share lol. The Turkey on the sandwich was horrible grade... Turkey from a Hillshire Farms pre-packaged Oven Roasted Turkey has more flavor... there was ONE piece of Swiss cheese on the " toasted" marbled rye. And then an assortment of other additions which I did not request. My daughters Chef salad was dismal and tasteless. The children liked their pizza which quite honestly was like cardboard. And the dining area was not clean. Sticky table sticky plastic booth seating. And if it isn't bad enough... the prices are too high for this type of "cuisine." I'm sorry to say "free" ice cream doesn't make it worth the visit. This would not be the place to go for a family dining experience. It's a glorified sandwich shop and you'd get a better meal at Jimmy John's! Only writing because it looks as though management monitors Yelp reviews and it actually may help raise the standards if more people honestly access the food here! I went one time and just ordered the all you can eat salad bar, but I wasn't all that impressed. So, this time, I ordered off the menu to give them another shot. Speaking of the menu, if you just walk in and order off the large menu boards, you are actually missing out on a large portion of what they offer. We had stared at the boards for several minutes and almost made a decision, when one of the associates came over and handed us the paper menus. Ultimately we chose items that were on the board, but it was nice to know there was a lot more. I guess the board is a "favorites" list, so it makes sense we were happy with what we found there. So, I went with a half sandwich and cup of soup. This option comes with chips. I got the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich and the Chicken Pot Pie soup. The sandwich was very good. I really liked the thousand island dressing on it. The Chicken Pot Pie soup comes with a small puff pastry on top to simulate the crust of a pie. It was a little difficult to figure out how to eat it, because it was too big for one bite, but I couldn't really break it up with my spoon. I ended up pulling it out and eating it with my hands! Anyway, the soup was fantastic! I also enjoyed some of the free soft-serve ice cream. They have chocolate, vanilla, or swirl, and you can put chocolate fudge on top. That was a nice little treat. Sweetie likes Jason's; I've never been a big fan but I'm fine with it. We stopped in with a cranky baby, and had to eat quickly. Service was excellent- it's really counter only, but they were great there and came around to check on us. The food is just okay. I never see anything super interesting to me on the menu, and what I do get turns out to be just okay. (Sweetie really likes their baked potatoes, and I think I had one once and thought it was "good not great.") Today I got a half sandwich- some kind of southwestern panini- and a trip to the salad bar. One trip, which seems a bit cheap on their part. Come on, lettuce isn't expensive. Anyway, the salad was fine, though I had hoped for a better variety of toppings. The sandwich was forgettable: okay bread, meh meat, decent sauce, and small even for a half. I was quite surprised by this restaurant. I have driven past other locations, and randomly decided to stop in one day. First, let me comment on the staff... they are SO friendly and helpful. You are greated coming and going... and EFFECIENT. They are constantly running food and restocking the salad bar to ensure that all food is fresh. Even the manager runs food, cleans tables, and checks on all partrons. Think of this as a cafe versus a deli. They offer a wide menu including several vegetarian options.. and a salad bar! Who has those anymore that isn't an all around buffet? Looking from a far the salad bar looks a little small however it's jammed packed... including premade pasta, potato, and quinoa salads. All meals come with free icecream - maybe for dine in only? I am quite happy with my experience, and hope to be able to come back soon. read more

I couple of years ago, I tried two vegetarian options at a different location in Cbus and was not impressed. I wrote it off as one of those places that is only loved by carnivores. Then recently Jen T. (shout out!) posted a pic of their Wild Salmon-wich, and I had to have it. I called in the carryout order, because I was out and not able to use their online ordering option. On my way back to work from an appointment, I stopped in to pick up my order. There are 3 carryout order parking spots, a lone door for delivery drivers, one for carryout pickups, and another for dine-in folks. Inside there are also 3 separate registers to accommodate how you ordered or are ordering. I was in and out pretty quickly. For $8.49 I got the sandwich and a side of steamed veggies (you have a few options for your side). Both were pretty darn good. There was a pic of a caprese panini at the register that looked really good and worth a try. Some of the soups looked interesting as well. I had my first Muffaletta sandwich when I was fifteen years old, from a rundown gas station in New Orleans. It was hands down the best sandwich I've had in my life. Jason's Deli has a Muffaletta that comes as close to that as I'm going to get in Ohio. The bread was crusty and crisp on the outside, and soft and fluffy on the interior. The olive mix was tangy, slightly pickled, and just right. The ham and salami both seemed high quality and the mustard they used finished it off perfectly. My one complaint is that the cheese was almost non-existant, and I'm not sure if that was on purpose or if I just got a tiny piece on mine. It was served with a pickle, and a bag of plain chips, and a half a sandwich was way too much for me to eat alone. I'll definitely be here again soon! read more

I've been wanting to go to Jason's since I read it won healthiest fast food restaurant again and they use no fryers, meaning no greas smells and no kid bugging me for french fries, no trans fat, well that was already enough tfor me to like it here before even stepping foot into the place. I am not a fan of all you can eat but the salad bar looked so clean and appatizing, and compaired to the rest of the menu everything that I like (meaning veggies and desserts) are found at said salad bar, there was no need to think any further. The first time in history my son also opted out of getting "real" food and also got the salad bar, success and I was very proud. Until I realized this would consist of 4 ice creams for dinner, but at least a bowl of fruit, yogurt and granola to "balance" that out, oh well, I tried and its still better than fried foods. We were lucky that there was no line, and they constantly replace the bar with fresh items, everything was delicious, I tried pretty much everything and really enjoyed it all. My husband had the reuben with pastrami which got its size from way too much sauerkraut. Being from Germany this was the worst sauerkraut we have ever eaten, he couldn't even pass it off to me, but he said the rest was very good. The whole organic, healthy thing is still cool. The food is still consistently good (I'm usually a "after 1pm lunch" kind of guy. The line's been out the door, and the food is not bad. The service is hit and miss, but they make a good, basic grilled cheese. I just wish I could pair it with their tomato soup (it wasn't as good as their grilled cheese). I've had several of their offerings, and nothing really has stood out for me as a "must try" - but it's worth it for the moderately priced, organic type menu. The cashier took our order and we sat down and within 10 minutes our food was at our table. We were in Columbus staying at a hotel in the Polaris area. My wife placed an order through Door Dash for food from Jason's Deli, but the order was wrong . She called Jason's and they stopped making the food, and she called Door Dash to cancel the order. However, Door Dash said the order could not be cancelled and had already charged our account. My wife called Jason's back and asked if she could correct and add to the order, which Jason's did. The person she spoke with at Jason's was exceptionally courteous and understanding, as well as helpful and friendly. The food arrived quickly, and was outstanding! We have visited this Polaris location dozens of times and they have never lets us down not even once. Tonight we ordered the soup and salad combination and I forgot to clarify that I wanted a bowl instead of a cup of soup. Jason's food is good, but their service kinda makes it not worth the trouble. If you eat in at Jason's, you wait in a line to give your order to a person who writes it on a slip. You then wait in another line to give that slip to a person who enters it line by line into a cash register, and you pay (why they don't combine these first two steps is beyond me). Then you take that slip to another person who looks at it, and maybe gives you salad or something, I think (they just looked at my check and sent me on my way). Then you sit down, and yet another person brings out your hot food. If I have to work with four different people to order my lunch, I start feeling like it's more of a pain in the ass than necessary. Then you start thinking that maybe the drive-thru would be a better option. I love that all of Jason's stuff is made just for you, but that means that a drive-thru visit takes 10-15 minutes, unless no one else is in line. It sort of defeats the purpose of a drive-thru. So why not go in and order it to-go? Well, because they are pretty slow at that, and on my last visit, the servers not only ignored me twice while I was standing at the counter, but they also let my food sit completed while they talked with each other, and then forgot one of my items. I did get a couple of free drinks for my wait. While I appreciate their effort to make it right with me, the service at Jason's over several visits has always been lackluster and pretty slow. Unless I've got a lot of time or I'm particularly craving something on their menu, I avoid Jason's because it just tends to put me in a bad mood. read more
