Well. It was okay. Our food (for just 2) came out at different times and they forgot my chili. That was kind of annoying. The cheese fries were average nothing special or bad. Okay. It's alright. I ordered the 1/3 lb. Burger. The buns are super soft, almost soggy. You know, when the bread sticks to your teeth kind of soggy. They must have had a shortage on lettuce because when I opened up my burger, there were literally like five small cut pieces of lettuce. It looked sad. I didn't mind the fries but my freshman son said they taste like the ones at school. Not sure if I'd come back. I would rather go to Scotty P's which is right "across" the street. read more

On the afternoon of March 21, 2020, we placed a phone order for pickup with JC's Burger, Allen location. We have never purchased food there before. For the past 11 years, we have always eaten at the Plano locations but they were closed because of sanitizing their facilities. The next morning, I happen to take a look at my receipt and noticed a "seat total charge" (including tax) for each item ordered. Also, I noticed, the ordered items turkey burgers, onion rings and sweet potato fries were each an additional 20 cents higher than posted on the website menu. Out of curiosity I called the restaurant and spoke with "Billy" the same person who took my phone order the previous day and asked him whether the website menu prices were up-to-date and he said it was. I asked him what was a "seat total charge". He said he didn't know. There is nothing on JC's Allen website stating any upcharge/fees on food for pickup or otherwise. read more

I went to JC's Burger House in Richardson and went to place my order. The young lady who took my order mumbled something . . . I couldn't hear her and told her that I was hard of hearing and couldn't hear. She mumbled again, no louder. I told her again. And again. AND AGAIN. She refused to speak any louder or more clearly even though I told her four times that I couldn't understand her. This wasn't an accent I couldn't understand - she simply refused to talk any louder. I finally asked my son to step up and repeat what she said so I could place my order. I wasn't rude to her but she seemed a bit put out that I couldn't hear her. While our order was being prepared I decided to add something to our order. I went back to the register, and - yep, once again, she refused to speak any louder. I had to lean over the counter and stick my ear in her face to understand. When you can't hear someone once, ok that happens. Twice, yeah I get it. Three times? FOUR times? And even after telling her four times she refuses to speak up? This is unacceptable. The restaurant is noisy as it is, with fans blowing and a radio playing and banging from the kitchen in an environment that is really an echo chamber. But for someone talking directly to customers to be that indifferent when someone tells her repeatedly that they're hearing impaired is hostile to people with disabilities. And as I said, she seemed somewhat irritated that I couldn't hear her. And my hearing isn't that bad - I function adequately in virtually all situations. This made it very clear that the store's employees had no respect or consideration for their customers. I can go to Mooyah or Twisted Root for comparable burgers, so there's no reason why I should tolerate this. read more

If you want a great burger I think this is the best in Allen! Food is great. People that work there are great. I like the fried pickles and mushrooms too. It's a good place to take a team to eat too. We have had a lot of new businesses come to the area the last few years but if you want a great burger this is still your spot to get one! read more

My wife thinks JC's has the best burger around. I eat either the grilled chicken sandwich or the turkey burger. Both of these are about as good as anyone's in the area. I rate these second only to Liberty Burger's in the area. I know this is a review of JC's so can definitely recommend JC's sandwiches, just not quite as good as Liberty's turkey burger. JC's has good burgers, and their chicken sandwich, which I tried for the first time the other day, is actually really good, too. It's a good burger. Not the best burger I've ever had, but given the choice between twisted root/mooyah/5 guys/scottyps - this is my place. It's not as good as the old Jakes when they were on Parker, but it's pretty damned good. The fries are good, but I prefer the tater tots, The onion rings are good as well, they aren't over battered and are more of the style of whataburger than Scotty P's. I prefer this style. Overall it's a good little place. I've never had dirty table problems that other reviews talk about. This is the kind of place where if you're not looking to be pissed off, then you won't be pissed off. I dunno. People that work there are nice but not overly so. Just recently found this burger joint on recommendation from a friend and were a little wary when walking in as it just seems to be another small local burger place. Man were we wrong! The topping choices for the burgers are good but you can't go wrong with just a regular burger. The meat is juicy while being thin and you can choose your size or double your patties. The fries are SO good, kinda like Wing Stop so they must put sugar on them. It works for me. We haven't tried their shakes yet but they serve Bluebell so it's on the list. Today we splurged and had burgers (Aimee had fries and I had tots) and I ordered some "To Die For" Cheese Fries. To be honest, I'm not sure I'd let someone kill me for them, but they were pretty darn good! I got ranch on the side though too... We go to JCs all the time for a good meal and decent prices. The burgers are always delicious and the chicken sandwich tasty as well. This is a good counter service type place with friendly staff that many times knows us by name. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is because the time it takes to get your food is sometimes a bit long for just burgers and fries. Of course they don't use frozen or even pre-made patties so that is so e of the reason. Overall a great pace. read more

the cook in the establishments believes the flat top is a percussion instrument that you must bang and beat on the ensure the meat that is already dead...dies a 2nd time while preparing the meal. Requested the cashier to speak to the cook about not having to kill the meat before cooking and the cashier said I was joking. I actually stated I was complaining about the loud banging that was not needed that fill the entire restaurant with the constant banging on the flat top. Great quality meat. Definitely tell them to cook it medium. The buns are a bit thin I wish they were thicker. They put a lot of bacon they don't skim out so get bacon on your burger. Get the homemade ranch with your onion rings it's worth it. Matty melt is awesome also read more

I have ordered 3 times from here. The first time a friend Picked up the order and the food was great. But twice I've ordered door dash with these folks and it was not as good. I requested no jalapeños on everything I ordered and EVERYTHING had EXTRA jalapeños. They are tiny and chopped up so picking them out is not an option. Lunch combo is a good price for burger, fries and a drink. Burgers are always hot and juicy, veggies always fresh and plentiful, and have never had a long wait once we ordered. My burger was decent. It was thick, hot, and cooked medium-well. My slice of cheese wasn't hot though. But it wasn't a big deal because the cheese melted soon enough. Extra toppings cost extra money of course. Actually, the extra toppings, like mushrooms and jalapenos, were kinda expensive so I passed on those. I had the onion rings instead of the fries. The onion rings might've been frozen, but I could be wrong. They appeared to be too perfectly-coated and round to be hand-battered. They were kinda bleh. I should've gotten the fries. Overall, the prices were marginally reasonable for what you get. The food is okay, but unremarkable. Despite having comparable prices, I would probably spend a few extra minutes and choose to drive to a Five Guys or Smashburger. read more
