So I enter this Jersey Mikes and the first thing I noticed is that the line is all messed up and everybody seemed lost and confused. EVERYBODY! The employees and the customers! The orders were taken out of order. The employees aka the 3 stooges were dazed and confused! All 3 of them were very shy and quiet. The middle girl had 2 subs and was just standing there doing nothing for a long time while they tried to figure out whos sub should be made first. So anyways I ordered the Jersey Shore's Favorite. I've had this many times at other Jersey Mikes, and I know how it should be. I always get it "Mikes way" And let me tell you. This is not Mikes way! It's more like Michelles way or something There was almost no spices on it, and hardly any olive oil or vinegar. Well went here and pleasantly surprised. Didn't run into the rude men referred to, two young women working. Couldn't believe how fresh sandwich was. All meat and cheese sliced while I waited. Had the Italian. Couldn't believe how they poured on the vinegar and oil then oregano. Very delicious. Much more meat than subway or togos. Only 4 stars as lack of variety for toppings, not sure that's important. Have tomato onion pickles jalapeños lettuce. Kind of used to bell peppers and black olives ala subway style. Really bad service today. Made me question if my sandwich would be contaminated as the guy that made my sandwich reused his gloves without washing hands after coming back from main seating area. Went for a lunch for the first time about a month ago, long line. Giant sandwich was large enough for even a big eater, but was by no means giant. About as bland a sandwich as I have had in years. Tried one more time a couple weeks later and took the sandwich home and tore it apart. No flavor to any of the meats, and no flavor to the roll. First off, my sandwich was made horribly, way too many jalepenos in my Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with barely any meat. When I wanted to order another sandwich since this sandwich was definitely not satisfactory to me.7, the manager acted extremely rude to me and my friends. He smurked at me like I was an idiot and made comments suggesting that I should DEFINITELY talk to the owner, because he was right. That is definitely not how customer service works bud. This place has some amazing subs. I got a Philly Cheese-steak, while my husband got a turkey sub. It was really good, but it could have been better. My husbands turkey sub was exceptionally salty, while my Philly needed a little more seasoning. One of the good things about this place is their not cheap about how much meat they put in the sub. read more

went to jersey mikes today. they told me to come back in an hour cause something was wrong, so i did. when i returned, i ordered a mini rosat beef on white. they told me they had no roast beef. i quickly scanned the menu and settled for a ham. he tried to put it on a regular instead of a mini, but i corrected him. i saw someone had gotten ham and turkey, so i asked if i could make it a ham and turkey? no problem. then, the next person asks me if i want it mikes way? i say, no, just lettuce and mayo. the girl looks at me like i am crazy and says, are you sure? nothing else? dont you want bacon? i say, no thanks, the next guy, who is the owner at the register, asks the 2nd girl what i ordered and she says a number 8. he rings me up for a turkey, ham, and bacon. i tell him (the owner) that i didnt order bacon and you are charging me for bacon. he says the way we set it up we charge you for bacon, next time order ham with a little turkey instead. he forgets to give me my drink. on to the next customer. by the way, there were only 3 customers in the store. there is no reason why the customer service in this place is so bad. lets recap: i waited an hour to not get roast beef i wanted and was charged for bacon i didnt order. why not tell me you are going to charge me for a #8 before making it? the owner could have rectified this at the register, but instead they get a bad review. try jimmy johns. read more

This place has okay sandwiches. No better than Subway. My problem is when you go to pay your bill. This is a place where you walk up to the counter and place your order and then you pick up your order yourself. You get your own drink, you go to the table and eat it, you clean your own table and you leave. Or he puts it in a bag for you and you leave. So when you pay for it , up comes a sign on the computer asking what kind of tip you want to leave. This is very bad business. I don't mind leaving a tip in a bowl at the end of the counter in any sandwich place that I go to. But to have a guy sitting there watching you put in a tip that he has asked for on a computer is wrong. Nobody should be forced to feel like they have to pay a tip because someone is standing there watching, especially when you were your own waiter. read more

OMG!!!! This is the greatest sub place that I have ever been too! I know that after last night I will not be going back to subway or Togo's!!!! I had just finished up with a volleyball game and was looking to eat something on the lighter side and with just moving to the Lake Forest area I had decided to try something new. When I walked in I was impressed with the cleanliness of the area, it just felt really clean. The menu was great and easy to understand. I really loved the "mikes way" option, I thought was really cute and imaginative. I got the #8 (Mini) which was the club sub sandwich. I will say that you need to be careful when doing the mikes way option as the guy who was working really liked to load the sandwich with the oil and vinegar. I had to tell them easy on the oil and vinegar. Overall, this was a fun little sandwich shop!!!! I know that I will be visiting this shop alot in the future. read more

The roast beef is OVERCOOKED!!! I keep telling them this, but they just keep cooking it so that it is too well done. Many of us prefer roast beef med. rare. If you like it well done, you will like the El Toro, Lake Forest, CA way of cooking it. If you like it with some pink/med. rare, go to the Mission Viejo location on Marguerite - they know how to cook it!!!! I'm done with the El Toro location. My husband and I went there on a Saturday morning for an early lunch. We both ordered the regular sized turkey sub. The fellow cut my bread and literally TOSSED the top half over to the guy by the condiments, and it landed on the counter - I couldn't believe it. Who knows how clean the counter is? I'm sure all they do is wipe it off with a damp rag. How unprofessional can you get? He did the same thing with my husband's bread. I can't complain about the amount of turkey and it seemed quite fresh, although the lettuce looked a bit brown, but it tasted okay. But here were two grown men running the place and they had Saturday CARTOONS on the TV, blasting so LOUD that we couldn't carry on a conversation. How annoying.. Cartoons? Not a child in sight.. Really, guys? Again - totally unprofessional. If they had some kind of sports game on, maybe I could understand, but cartoons? So, while I'll give them points for the turkey, I have to give them bad marks for their unprofessional behavior.. I'm not sure I would be inclined to go back. read more

Seeing the great reviews for their subs I tried it out today. I had a featured sandwich, with ham, provolone, and salami, with "Mike's Juice" (Thats a special concoction of red wine vinegar, olive oil and spices) Also you can have it Mike's Way with onions, lettuce, tomatoes. If you don't want it Mike's Way, then just like Subway you can tell them what to add on. The subs come in three sizes, small (6"), regular (12") or giant (15"). The bread is white or wheat, and it is a chewy hardy bun, not fluffy or easily flattened like Subways or Tummy Stuffers, etc. The sandwich was... good. Not super exciting, just good. Looking at their menu I am going back to try their other sandwiches, especially the roast beef. What is good about Jersey Mike's is they have a deli-slicer, and you watch the guy slice the provolone or ham, or salami in front of your eyes. It is a small place with seating outside and you are in and out real fast. I think the 5-star grades are for their "hot" sandwiches, which I haven't tried yet. This is a grade above most sandwich shops and chains. The only thing missing is a great "Jersey accent." They need to import some of the characters from that reality television show my niece raves about or my favorite law comedy, "My Cousin Vinny." read more

Terrible customer service at this location. Employees have bad attitudes when asked to make a sandwich a certain way. Order taker argued with me about how I wanted the sandwich made. When I asked him his name he told me, "I didn't need to know it and that he was only filling in for the day." I won't be returning to this location. read more

Sooooo much better than Subway! Really fresh bread and meats sliced right in front of you. You can't go wrong with the Classic Italian Mike's Way (oil and vinegar , lettuce , tomato and onions). I am a NY sub critic! Always looking for a great made sub with lots of taste and a place that does not want to skimp on the meat. I ordered the Original Italian. Ordered my sandwhich Mikes way with Mayo/Must, the guy makes the sandwich he asked me what I want, again I state Mikes way with Mayo/Must. He starts to finish the sandwich, I asked did you put mayo/must... oh no, he takes the sandwich a part, puts mustard. At the time i am thinking well maybe it is a mayo/must combo bottle, just in case i get some mayo on the side. The first part of the experience in the shop..... frustrating :( Now I get the sandwich home. thinking to myself push the frustration aside, because I just spent 7.75 for a sandwich. the Experience: the bread very good, except the guy put sooooooooooo much vinegar, my bread was sopping wet around the egdes... that sucked. the meat very good and a lot of it and the other toppings were fresh, by the way he did forget to put the mayo on.... good thing for the side I asked for. I don't know how you can't like this place. It is amazing. I will never eat at any other sub sandwich place again. Never. I couldn't agree more with the person who brought up the #43. Philly cheese steak with chipotle mayo, peppers, and onions. It is outstanding. You can also never go wrong with the cold subs. This place is FRESH. Meat cut right in front of you.
