I was excited to finally find a Jersey Mike's down here because I missed eating at them up North. So I'm only rating a 4 because of the food was good and fresh. When we entered the restaurant there was only one person in front of us. The employee was doing his best to try and multitask between online and walk in customers. The line was continuing to grow and this one employee then went to get help after the line was maybe 6 customers deep as well as a pile of online orders. So my question is why did we wait 15-20 minutes to get our food when there was ay least 2 more people in the back? I tried my best to be patient because it wasn't the employees fault however I feel it's very inconvenient. You should have one person working on online orders and another on instore orders. A friend wanted to try JMs so we went the next day of my first review. The subs were good, the one star comes from their questionable cleaning of the prep counter. The guy behind the counter pulled out a nasty looking wet bar rag from under the counter that looked very dirty and wiped the counter down, then immediately cut the sub roll right on the wet counter. Yuck ! At least dry the counter off with a paper towel, better yet use parchment or butcher paper. Or buy a couple cutting boards and swap them out when one gets messy. I found out Jersey Mike's subs has a gluten free sub roll. I am hesitant about going to new places because of how they handle my food. This place was great. They cleaned the slicer and cut fresh meat and cheese. They had a tray and knife only for gluten free items. They even had toppings just for me. He also changed his gloves twice during the process. The guys were really nice. I kept apologizing because I know it can a pain for special orders like this. They kept reassuring me that it was ok. Oh yeah the sub was FANTASTIC! I love there subs so much but I really wish the service would improve. This is a busy location especially at lunch time. I placed an order online for pickup at this location. I had to wait for the pickup when I arrived as well as others that were there waiting. They had the orders sitting on a back table behind them. This Jersey Girl decided to give Jersey Mikes Subs a try. The two guys that served me were super nice. It was late afternoon and myself and one other person were the only two customers. I decided to eat there and every single table in the place was dirty. The floor was dirty. The bathroom was dirty. This bothers me bc it makes me wonder about the cleanliness of their kitchen and how they handle the food. There were three staff there and it was not busy so there was no reason for it to be dirty. I am upset that I have to write a bad review... I had a horrible experience. I called to order & because I've ordered from there several times I knew it was the manager that answered. He was so rude & it's definitely not the first time either. I called back to add something on my sandwich & he answered yeah & when I gave him the add'l item he said something & hung up on me. When I got there he was still rude & when I didn't put a tip in the cup he basically threw the sandwiches @ me. He has the ponytail & napoleon complex. I've seen him being rude to his employees, too. So apparently this is a pretty popular and growing Sub Shop chain, but living in Miami most of my life I never heard of it until I moved up here. After a few lukewarm experiences with this areas Jimmy Johns, and getting tired of boring Subway, I thought I'd give this place a shot tonight. To be honest, I thought the food tasted pretty darn good. I ordered a chipotle steak sandwich and the meat was well seasoned and cooked to order on the flat grill (not re-microwaved mystery steak like Subway). I also got a small Italian. The deli meat wasn't spectacular, but it had good flavor and the meat and cheese was sliced to order which is pretty cool to see at a chain restaurant and nice to know that it's fresh. The bread was decent, I think quality wise Jimmy Johns bread is better, but it was at least fresh. You get two choices either white or wheat. I opted for the toasted for my steak sandwich and It certainly could've been toasted more! The steak sandwich made it a bit soggy. Most subs come in three sizes small (4.5 in.), regular (7.5 in.), or giant (15 in.) You have a selection veggies to chose on your sandwich, about the same stuff that subway offers, minus a few specific items and can opt to get it "Mike's Way" which is a combo of veggies and oils typical of a traditional Italian sub. One thing I was disappointed about was that before I got a chance to ask for veggies on my steak sub, it was wrapped up. I asked if I could add some and they said it wasn't a part of the cheesesteak sub and would be extra... Not sure if that's legit, or if the gentleman behind the counter was being lazy. I guess my biggest beef with the place is the prices. They are just way too high... The steak sub I got (a giant sized) was 12.95 for the sandwich alone! I made it a combo and the combo (sub, small bag of chips, and a 24oz. fountain drink) came out to 17 bucks! Now I know the sub was huge, and I had leftovers, but that is still ridiculous and certainly not worth it for what you get. I may be back to try more at some point, but the prices will certainly keep me from being a regular for sure! read more
