Having spent 18 months in Philly - and I even had a South Jersey cell number for part of that time - I know a thing or two about hoagies. My biggest complaint about hoagies in Philly was that the darn bread was too crusty and tough for my liking. No worries about that at Jersey Mike's! They may not be using Amoroso hoagie rolls, but the subs are pretty darn good. We had the Jersey Shore's Favorite, (provolone, capicola and ham) done "Mike's Way" wit' lettuce, tomatoes, onions, oregano and oil and vinegar. They slice the meat and cheese to order - take that Subway! Next time we'll have to try out the cheesesteak and see how authentic this place really is - I got the impression their 'steaks don't come wit' Whiz. Oh, and a great bonus? A guy came around with a tray of fresh chocolate chip cookies as we finished our hoagie. For free! Gotta love that! read more

I work over by this location I had a bad visit the past few times and stopped coming for about a month but today I really wanted a number 13 Mike's way so bad and I'm glad i come back!!! I was greeted as soon as I walked in and I was eating my sub no more then 10 minutes later. I usually love coming here with my 3 yr old. She gets so excited and says I want jersey mikes. They recently changed their policy and will not substitute meats. My daughter likes turkey and salami and they said no they do not have any sandwiches with turkey and salami, they only have ham and salami sandwiches and I couldn't substitute turkey for ham. If I want a turkey and salami sandwich I would have to pay for double meat. This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard and now I will not go back. read more

I have finally found my heaven in Westlake!! If i had known how close this Jersey Mikes was to my work (Agoura Hills) I would have been spending my lunches here instead of another fast food joint. Judging on if you are on the yelp page here, you already know about what they serve and how they do it. So I won't waste your time going on about how my sandwich is or how fresh and amazing their food is... although it is all true! It is a bit harder to find once you get into the plaza, just because the signage is all original but the coloring on every single unit is the same dull blue looking color so you need to really look for it. (It is next to Rite Aid: You're welcome =P ) When I went inside, I instantly notice how clean and up kept it is. It is very spacious and the air inside feels very well circulated even in this heat wave we are having which is great! There are a lot of young kids working here and they all seem so happy and are very welcoming compared to another Jersey Mikes I reviewed. They always ask me how I am doing, how my days going, and when I tip, they do the typical ringing of the bell and thank you. I always call in my order, being as I have 30 minutes to get there, eat and get back to work. Today though, I called in and I think the girl misunderstood me, or the person making the order misread but instead of "pepper" they put a ton of "banana peppers" -_____- No biggie though, I gave them a call and the manager was quick to say just come in after work and get a new one later. Yippeee! Overall I am always happy at this location and recommend it like I always do with majority of the Jersey Mikes. read more

Always can count on this place for some awesome sandwiches. Sometimes the lunch rush crowd is pretty long but still worth waiting for instead of getting "a footlong" elsewhere. Fresh cut in front of you meat and cheese. Staff is always nice. Frequent buyer program is awesome oh and double points Monday can't be beat. Sometimes they get a little rushed and end up making your sandwich wrong and having to remake it because they were just going through the motions but they always remedy the situation. The staff is great! Their sandwiches are great, for the most part....my reasoning for 2 stars is because we always get the Italian grilled. Apparently the manager of this location now says they will not grill them anymore. These aren't near as good cold. That'll be my last time going here. Bad move manager! Update: while I'm receiving a nice response, your response is completely opposite of what staff says they're told to tell customers. Staff says manager will absolutely not let them grill cold sandwiches anymore as of a very recent change. If they can be grilled, please update staff. read more

I am a huge fan of Jersey Mike's and am use to the Simi location. They are known for their fast and friendly service. I came here for the2nd time today and will not be returning to this location. As I came in today, I waited for my order to be taken. As I was waiting for the gentlemen to finish putting my sandwich together, I noticed he was also ringing customers out. He had 1 glove on and 1 glove off while handling cash. He proceeded to take the cash from the customer using his gloved hand and touch coins and cash as he tendered the customer. He did not remove the glove before handling my sandwich and my sandwich was made with a glove that had touched the cash drawer. I am appalled and have never seen anything as unhygienic as this before. I highly recommend not coming to this location because the management is not training proper food handling skills to their employees. read more

Food is great, although they do not know how to handle customers. Yet the system still gave them a tip. I should have said no to the tip for the way they talked to me. The smaller black haired lady said "I talk to the wrong person" even though their "friend/usual customer" in front of me did the same thing with no issues. My family and I LOVE Jersey Mikes. We come here often on weekends before the beach. We came with two kids and had the worst experience here. my kids were intimidated by the African American woman who was extremely rude, barking at us, and the other employees. We weren't being difficult just instructing the poor guy helping us on what to put on our sandwich. The lettuce was kind of pink and seemed wilted. We asked for sides of the oil and vinegar and she YELLS really loud at someone in the back to get the oil and vinegar. This was the worst customer experience ever here, the other employees are always nice, but this woman was terrible. Rolling her eyes, acting as if everyone annoyed her. Seems like a lot of other people have had the same issues with her. Not sure if we will come back to this location again. This place is awesome. The staff here are really nice and constantly greet you even when they were packed to the door. I got the Jersey Shore favorite light on Mike's Way. Wow was it good. The bread was still warm and everything was super fresh. They also took my 2 dollar off regular sub coupon too with no problem. Total shit show, the employees do not smile, zero enthusiasm. When it came time to put lettuce and so forth on my sandwich I was grossed out. The do not wipe the area off where they prepare your food. They scrap off left over food with a utensil, the knife the used to cut my sandwich in half was not clean. Let me tell you why I will never be going back to this Jersey Mike's ever again. Ok, so a long time ago an employee of this jersey Mike's (ironically) recommended a sandwhich to me. (Turkey, salami, and pepper Jack cheese) ever since I have really enjoyed this sandwhich.. they charge me with a number 11 which is ham and salami... BUT now this jersey Mike's the manager has made up the rule so that if I order this sandwhich they need to charge me extra meat.. they have gave me 2 different excuses now to why they need to. First it was cause they dont have a button to sub the meat so they cant account for the Turkey going out and second was Turkey is more expensive than ham... either way it is Bologne. I literally refuse to pay for extra meat so what I had to do was drive all the way to the t.o location to get the sandwhich.. T.o had no problem ringing it as a number 11 and I told them my scenario and we all agreed that it was stupid of them. ... I want to end it here but one more thing... I have went in a few times to the westlake location and they tried to charge me extra meat but I complained and they didnt charge that time.. then one day the regional manager was in when I complained and he said wow that's not right, You should not be charged extra meat ever.. BUT this location still is trying to charge me extra meat!!!! Lmao it's crazy. Management is something else. And it's not that I cant afford the extra meat, it's the principal of the matter. 1 star because I literally cant go back to this location because of this. read more

I've been coming to this Jersey Mike's for roughly 7 years now. Although it has fluctuated over time I can say that the service and experience has always been great and exceptional. The manager works her butt off and with the demanding requests constantly being made by the clientele, she does her best to please as many people in her power. I hate leaving bad reviews, but after continuous problems with both workers and my orders, I will not be coming back to this location. We ordered a ham sandwich plain with only bread, ham, and cheese and received a turkey sandwich. We got two identical tuna sandwiches with avocado (which is $2 extra) and we could barely stomach finishing the regular size of the sandwich. The avocado was scarce and brown, the tuna tasted off and in general the whole thing was just completely flavorless. Typically I would say it's my fault for ordering a fast food tuna sandwich, but we had just eaten the exact same sandwich at the agoura location the previous day, and it was so good we craved it again-big mistake. We'll stick to driving further to the other location in order to enjoy our overpriced sandwiches. Not to mention their customer service beats this location by a long run, I always go out of my way to be nice to service workers as I am one myself, but these employees are never nice when I come here. I had a presentation to make for a local company and found them on Yelp after another sandwich company was unable to assist me. I love my local Jersey Mikes and I was not disappointed with this one. My wife called and spoke with Carly and she was able to place the order over the phone the day before and have it ready for pick up the next day. Staff was very helpful and friendly and even helped her bring everything out to the car. The company loved the sandwiches and were even excited as we brought the food in. I eat jersey mikes like 2x a week at least!! Between Westlake Simi Valley Hollywood Venice and Simi Valley I've been to a lot of Jersey mikes locations. You get your mix of people who have been there long and training but always great quality good here. I love this location in particular Becuase the have sweet tea and no where else does.
