I heard back from the owner, Hector, and he was apologetic for the experience. He wanted me to come back to give them another chance. I did that today & ordered the exact same thing, hot pastrami, and it was great! The meat was fresh & wasn't nearly as tough as the last time. As we all know, when we visit retail locations of different companies, some stores just arent as good as others. This Tustin location is probably one of the better ones. This Jersey Mike's always seems to have the friendliest staff, whether I walk in at the lunch rush on a weekday, or am grabbing a late night dinner on a Sunday. Let me just start off by saying that I like the sandwiches here and have been here several times. I had an awful experience here today. The girl making my sandwich was so dumb and slow. She didn't even ask what I wanted on my sandwich. She just put lettuce on it, cut it, and was about to wrap it up when I turned around after giving my boyfriend (who was paying at the cashier) the number to punch in for points. She didn't even ask me what I wanted on my sandwich. She didn't even offer Mike's way. When I saw that she had finished, I asked her for jalelpenos, either on side or on sandwich, whichever that was easier, and she just stood there and stared at me. Then I told her that I wanted it Mike's way too and that's when she did it, she was slow about it when there was a line behind us. I came home and my sandwich had no tomatoes or onions. Thank goodness I realized it wasn't Mike's way before I left. I don't understand how that girl was hired. Worst experience today. read more

I have been to this store for years. The food is fantastic and fresh each and every time I went there. However, this last time I went, I had a little cold and so my speech was garbled. The staff had made an innocent mistake on my order. I did not mind that and I requested them to make the correct one, which they did. However, when I sat down to eat, I had overheard them mocking the way I talked. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed and that had ruined my appetite. Seen some of the reviews and finally decided to try Jersey Mikes. I actually liked it more than some others on here and found the service/portions to be very good. Now, I've lived on the east coast and there's just something about the subs/grinders out there that no one has been able to replicate out here..but Jersey Mikes is pretty darn good in a world of chains with pre-fab meats and faux "baked on premises" breads. Hey, is it my favorite sub from the north end of Boston? No...but that's a $600 flight and 6hrs. of travel time to get there. Came here for the first time ever the other day. I have to say that I was impressed. My previous experience with sandwich places only included subway amd Quiznos which, as you may already know, taste rather iffy. The pricing is slightly more expensive but the ingredients are all fresh tasting unlike the aforementioned places. I got the Italian sub "mikes way" which i think means you get lettuce, tomatos, oil, and vinegar on your sub! Service was quick and polite! read more

Went there for lunch with 4 people. We ordered 2 "cold" subs and 2 "hot" subs. The cold subs were made as we waited, so we had a seat to wait for the hot subs. Well by the time the 2 people with the cold subs had finished eating their food (20-25 minutes), the hot subs still weren't ready. So we checked with the counter people. Apparently one of the hot subs was made, but they didn't bother telling us it was ready. The second hot sub was not ready, and they didn't know when they could get to it. (!!) So we asked for a refund, and we had to go somewhere else to get lunch for the 4th member of our group. Note - this is the second time I've been there. The first time I ordered a hot sub and it took 30 minutes to get it. I was hoping it was a fluke, but apparently that's normal. Wont be eating there again. read more

Come here a few days a week. I'm a big fan of the regular #5 mikes way on white. I usually add mustard too. Overall, I give jersey mikes five stars as a company but this particular location just isn't quite up to par with the others. It's kind of a crap shoot on who makes your sandwich and how good it turns out. Other locations are more consistent. Definitely an awesome sandwich though! read more

Recently visited Jersey Mike's by my house (2/19/14) for the first time and I love the quality and freshness of the products they use to create these tasty sandwiches. All meat and cheeses are sliced fresh in front of you and the bread is super fresh and soft. I got a #7 sandwich (turkey and cheese) and got it "mike's way" which comes with red wine vinegarette, olive oil, tomatoes, onions, salt n pepper, really good. Prices are a little high but in my experience, I got what I paid for. I would definitely recommend Jersey Mike's but avoid lunch time, gets a little busy. read more

I placed a catering order on 12/21 with Marco for pickup on Christmas eve at 10 am and though I asked him for an email confirmation he stated they did not do this but it was not a problem and that he would be working on xmas eve at the pick up time. Xmas eve I sent my daughter there to pick up and they didn't have my order and he wasn't working and she didn't have her wallet with her. It was extremely stressful for us because i was busy getting all of the food and etc., ready for 60 people. She was there for a while and the order wasn't exactly correct but we didn't have time to deal with it. The service here was horrible and i will never do another catering order with them. read more

I was there last about 6 o clock this past Friday. I ordered 5 sandwiches. Every single one of them was wrong. 4 were on the wrong bread, all 5 had onions when that was the first thing i said to hold on all of them...I even left them a tip of 10 percent. I got home and figured out how wrong they had got the order, called them and the girl was rude, said i was wrong and told me the manager would call me the next day....That never happened. The service at this location is terrible. Every time I order sandwiches to go from here I'm constantly standing there to pay and they constantly keep taking people who are ordering their sandwiches before me. There is an order here sign and a pay here sign so not sure where else they would like me to stand besides the pay here line. The problem is they take 5 minutes just to ring up and order and by that time they are done making the next persons sandwich so they ring them up. Today I met my husband there who stood in line and ordered our sandwiches. He forgot to order the kids chips so I went and grabbed bags of chips and waited in the pay line with one person in front of me. That took 3 minutes then they took the guy who had a to go order (as they should have because he was there before me but his order wasn't ready at the time) so then he paid which took another 3 minutes and then the next guys sandwich was ready so he just walked right in front and they rang up his order which again took forever then the next guys sandwich was done all the while I am standing there in the pay line and not one employee asked what I needed if I had an order or just needed to buy the chips. Nothing. They saw me standing in the pay line...it's a pay line for a reason. That's the line you get in to just pay. Finally I was so annoyed I said can I just pay for these and she said oh yeah ok one minute so I out a five dollar bill on the counter and walked away. Their system is horrible. The service is slow. Get it together. You wait in line to order then wait in line to pay. If you have already ordered ahead and don't need to order you get in the pay line. It's a line. Called just before they opened and Jose, the manager, answered and made sure the request was taken care of. Upon pick up, the friendly staff alerted Jose that I had shown up and he helped me load up my vehicle. He, then, took care of method of payment and I was quickly on my way. I usually go to the location on bison and MacArthur in Newport Beach which has exceptionable service and their sandwiches are the same. It's really too bad they're not all the same because if you were to go to the Tustin location first you may never go to another one again.
