The customer service was good. The sandwiches were made right. The reason for this review is when coming into a place to eat the last thing you want to see is co- workers giving another worker a hard time for something minor. The girls were so consumed on some issue that happened they forgot to greet the customer that came in after me. This is a great Jersey Mike's! The environment is always great. The workers there are always super positive, and always put me in a great mood. Especially Mango, which I found later was his nickname but that added more to his positive attitude. From start to finish, his smile never left. The service sucks. Waited in line for 5mins for them to tell me they ran out of white bread. Second time seemed like they had know clue what was going on, just standing around talking. One girl was making the sandwiches and didnt know what belongs on the sandwhich, so she was slow. Get new workers, maybe older ones not teens. Ordered online for lunch , it said to pick up my order at 11:55 am , just go right to the counter with no wait , so I did and they didn't have my order ready.... the girl said it didn't print the ticket,I can make your sandwich in 2 minutes, then also started making another sandwich while making mine. I have been to this store weekly for my family and it never fails they run out of white bread. Well today it happened again! My daughter in law ordered a sandwich mind u she was in line for 20 minutes. Well she wasn't done ordering and the worker took the order of customer behind her. When my daughter in law said im not done I need another sandwich the worker said they were out of white bread! He gave the last one the the customer behind her! I called the manager and she said they are not out of white bread, that the worker was miss informed. She said we could come back and order again. I asked to talk to the general manager and she said they would call me. The district manager just called me and again said the worker was misinformed, they had white bread. That I could come back and order my sandwiches. I told her no im done with this store for now. The food is amazing but im tired of the bread issue. Plus my daughter in laws lunch was over and she didn't get to eat!!!! Im not asking for free food but the district manager should have offered something on our next visit. The subs here measure up to the original Mikes Subs on the Jersey shore and those are considered a benchmark. Everything here is delicious, and the staff is very courteous, but this place is a RIP OFF! They now charge $3.25 for avocado on a Giant Club sandwich, and have the nerve to market it as "Only $3.25" when they hardly smear avocado across the bread... Seriously? How do you even SELL AVOCADOS when you cheat people like this? For $3.25, I would almost expect to be handed a whole avocado. The sandwich I split with my wife came out to just under 18 dollars, and it's probably the last time we will ever give a Jersey Mikes our business. Despite having frequented these chains all up and down the coast of California. This place is HORRIBLE... been there about 3-4 times since their opening... 2 times they "guess-cut" the bread about 2 inches shorter than it should be. one time I made the girl set it next to the other regular sandwich she was making... YEP... much shorter... it was actually closer to a "mini" than a regular... Its seemed as if it were no big deal to the girl... I said to her since its about an 8 inch regularly maybe just deduct 25% off for me at the register... They try to SHOVE Mike's way in your face when you hit the making table... and boy lemme tell ya THAT takes a while...I love standing there while they decide who's going to finish my sandwich off... i didn't think anyone could make a sandwich this bad. i got the chipotle philly cheese steak. the meat had absolutely NO flavor. it tasted like it was boiled. i told my gf it was just watery and she said that she saw them heat it on a flat top. then she said he covered it. so i guess they heat it with steam, giving it the watery taste. the bell pepper were over powering and i got zero chipotle taste. the bread was rubbery and just not good. the only thing that was worth anything was the cheese. i had to salt it up and add jalapenos just to get some taste out of it. i had heard good things, but i will never come back here. read more

Never been here before and I appreciated that they did have a veggie option. Didn't realize that I didn't get a bread choice, size choice, or could add anything to it like a sauce...until they just made the food and had it at the register. I asked about it cuz I did noticed they had a wheat option and I just wanted a sauce added and i also noticed other customers were telling the sandwich maker what to put on their sandwiches. The girl at the register stated "oh, u never been here beofe?...since its a hot (and u see, it's made in the back over there) the sandwich it's made how it's made. If u want something else to it, you need to tell them.." this was very off putting since since she was talking to me in a very condensiding way. If all she was saying was true, then u have to communicate it to ur customer regardless. That's what we call customer service. I wasn't going to have her remake my food cuz I'm not that person. I didn't like her delivery and the lack of communication. When I had got home to actually eat my sandwhich, it wasn't what I ordered. I wanted to try their new veggie sandwhich that originally came with eggplant but since the girl told me there wasnt, it was fine but I was missing the avacado, lettus, and I thought it they would add stuff for "Mikes way". All there was was barley any peppers and onions and it was mostly bread. It definitely wasn't what I was expecting since the picture was right at the window. We bought 5 sandwiches and when we got home realized the bread was stale on ALL of the sandwiches. The bread was very dry and crumbly. I called the store and talked to the manager on duty and she explained that their bread is baked fresh daily and that it couldn't be stale. I explained that maybe it wasn't stale, but that something terrible must have happened with that day's batch and the bread was horrible. She said that she would put my name on file and replace half of the sandwiches the next time we came in. I thought it was weird that she offered to replace half of the sandwiches but I was happy that she agreed to that. We went in a few weeks later but the manager on duty totally blew me off. When I explained to the cashier what the original manager said she mentioned it to Mark (manager on duty) and he said that my name wasn't on file. He did this off the top of his head. He didn't even check the file. He also said it in a pretty smug way and totally dismissed the situation. No apology. No nothing. read more

It was my first time here so the lady gave me some suggestions, I went with one of them and it was delicious!! She was suppose to grill it but passed it on to the next guy who filled it with toppings. I brought up the grill part after he was done when I noticed. I'm a fan of Jersey Mikes and I've eaten at a few different locations. The Campus location in Upland, Ca left me feeling disappointed. I stopped by at 7 pm with my two daughters after a softball game and the place was empty. I mean we were the only customers in there. We ordered 3 sandwiches to go and when we got home only to find that my #9 supreme didn't have any bacon on it and my kids meatball sandwich didn't have the banana peppers we requested. They were also to put the oil and vinegar on the side but they forgot that as well. Their is no excuse for this they weren't busy at all! Went there last weekend based upon the crowd we saw inside. We waited in line for 15 mins, the assistant behind the counter was all hyped up asking us if we were hungry. Stood in line for a further 15 mins until we were looking through the prep area glass to see that the area was very dirty, vege scraps all over the place and some stuck in the gaps between the container holders and crevices and sad to state that we could see fungus...... Worst health and hygiene horror was that they use the same deli slicing machine to cut cold meats and cheese a recipe right there for food poisoning or salmonella poisoning. I looked at my husband and after being in line and wasting our time for 30 mins we just shook our heads and walked out of the line. Despite having 8 people behind the prep are this place was annoyingly slow, overrated and praised by others but merely disappointing. Do not go here if you are a vegetarian or clean freak..... I have been to the new Jersey Mikes on Campus street 4 times now and thats all it took to realize this place is bad business on many levels. As son as you enter they try to get you in the mood by simulating the loud and outgoing New Jersey personality. After much convincing I went with the sandwich that the guy kept convincing me to try. I ordered a small which cost me almost $8.50. That's just a small warm sandwich, no drink or chips. Their sandwich is no bigger than subway and actually smaller than quisnos. One week later I tried a different sandwich. Not bad, but nothing better than the other local sandwich places. The guys tried to up-sell me and I responded telling them the economy is terrible right now and as with most people I too am laid off and out of work. I can not afford an $8 small sandwich. The man proceeded to tell me if there was any way he could give me a discount he would but he can't. The next time I went in I was second in line to pay and the guy ahead of me was an old friend of one of the sandwich makers. As he went to pay the cashier gave him a discount and the guy paid just over $1 for a regular size sub. The guy actually argued with the cashier to not give him a discount but they insisted. It didn't feel to good paying almost $8 for the same size sandwich right after. Finally today I waited 25 minutes in a line of only 8 people and ordered a warm sub with no onions because I am allergic. After the long wait and paying almost $9 for their small warm sub I arrived home to open my dinner and take a bite of a sub with onions on it. Way to ruin my dinner guys. Good thing I tasted this on first bite. Had I consumed even a small amount of onions I would have had a trip to the ER and a shot to stop the reaction. As much as I wanted to drive back to Jersey Mikes and ask them for my $ back I decided it's not worth it. They choose to put on their fake smile and "Jersey boy" act so I assumed I would probably get a fake "sorry". Give this place a try. I am confident most will feel the same as I do.
