    Biscuits and gravy

What a pleasant surprise! We've driven past this place for years and always assumed it was just a bar with maybe some food. Glad we stopped to check it out! 2 rooms with booths and tables and the bar is in it's own room. Lots of menu choices and desserts to select from. Perhaps the best biscuits and gravy in Tucson, in my opinion. Pancakes are fluffy and huge and take up an entire plate. French toast was flavorful. Eggs and hash browns were cooked perfectly. We'll be back!

Burnt piece of toast top left of pic. This was Jethro's number 1 from the menu.

Parking is adequate, spaces are a little close together for my taste but not too bad. Walking in, we were greeted and it is a sit yourself style restaurant. Ambiance appears to be dependent on the crowd, which in this case was Saturday morning and was a good mix of all ages. Service staff is friendly. Upon arrival of our food, everything was good. I did notice one of my wife's pieces of toast was very dark, slightly burnt. Overall, the food was good. Nothing particularly memorable, but a good meal. I would recommend this as a place to eat when you want a predictable meal with no surprises, a place to go out when meeting with friends or to have a break from cooking.

Still a great place for breakfast! My chicken fried steak was tender and crispy, the eggs cooked right, and again, they happily substituted a side salad for the hash browns. Everyone else enjoyed their choices as well. Some of it came home as leftovers for another meal. Our server was amazing! She came by several times to see how we were doing and if everything was good. The restaurant's decor hasn't changed much, and has a comfy feel to it. Great experience again.

I really enjoyed coming to the small breakfast restaurant. I had the garbage omelette which essentially has everything in it. I really enjoy how affordable this places to have breakfast for two people. The chorizo and eggs is also outstanding. I love how the service is always prompt and the coffee is always topped off. I feel with dining out being so expensive this restaurant definitely keeps an edge when it comes to like having an affordable breakfast.

This place is excellent! Trash can omelette is sooo good... big breakfast portions at fair prices... and the service is great!

I'm not sure how a diner is capable of making such disgusting food. The pancakes at continental breakfast are better. The sausage is gross.

However, I have to give 3 stars for the overall execution of my meal. I had a half of a Hammer sandwich which was about $8. It's ham, soppressata, cheese, lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, dijon, vinegar, oil, garlic sauce. Unfortunately, I felt that my sandwich came with skimpy toppings. I got a pretty thinly stacked layer of ham and 2 little ovals of soppressata. The cheese was barely present. I also would have loved more tomato. I got a good amount of lettuce and banana peppers, though! Unfortunately, I just couldn't taste the meat and cheese toppings super well due to their being not much of them on the sandwich. The flavor of all the other ingredients were good, though. My friend got the Scramwich on Foccacia for $14. Looking at it, I could also tell it had not much proscuitto. Upon further inspection opening one of the halves of the sandwich... it was definitely only a few little smaller pieces of proscuitto. (The other toppings were on the other piece of bread, don't worry, those were fine) Sorry for the ugly photo - hard to really capture it without dissecting the thing. I also just noticed while looking at the photo again that one of the pieces of arugula also had black spots on it... Definitely not very fresh. My friend still enjoyed the foccacia, sundried tomatoes, and other toppings, but also felt there wasn't enough proscuitto. For the price, I would hope for a sufficient amount of meat. Heard a lot of hype about Quisty's and I see great potential in their quality and concepts! With better execution I'd definitely consider coming back. It's just hard to justify paying as much as we did for sandwiches that were skimpy on arguably one of the most important toppings!

I've been here at least 100 times and usually get the exact same thing: a plain Jane on white with turkey, mayo, provolone, avocado, and lettuce with kettle chips as the side. I also get a cannoli when they still have some. The food is always amazing! It is single-handedly the best bread and sandwich I've had anywhere and I get it every time I visit Tucson now that I've moved. The bread is so good that buy a large loaf and take it home with me to make sandwiches with. The people who work here are super sweet and friendly. They work quickly even when they're completely packed. I've never once had a problem with my order being incorrect or how I've been treated there. It has only ever been a positive experience. The restaurant itself is lovely. There is a good amount of seating but sometimes you do have to troll for a seat when it's really busy. The space is clean and easy to move around. The bathrooms are also clean and are kept well-stocked. The parking in the shopping center is difficult but that's because both Beyond Bread and Bookmans share the parking lot so there are just a lot of people there in general. I love this place and I hope you do too. If you haven't been, you just don't know you love it yet.
