We came here for AYCE and we were highly satisfied with the facility, the food, and the service. I love the atmosphere. It's well decorated. The facility is great! They provide disposable chopstick ends that you can insert into the chopsticks, and they also give you a disposable apron to wear. Ventilation is also excellent! We were served with plenty of small dishes at the very beginning, just like the ones in any typical Korean restaurants. I personally love the fermented soy bean sauce. The seaweed salad and bean sprouts are also delicious. The menu has a great selection of meat, veggies, and side dishes. There are also soup and stone bowls to choose from. We were satisfied with the quality and the taste of the meat. Service was great. The waiters gave us recommendations on some of the popular choices. They were attentive and helped us to switch out our grills several times through the meal. My friend literally said "your service is exceptional!" I took my family here for their first experience with Korean BBQ and they loved it! The staff were super attentive. As with most Korean BbQ spots, the all you can eat is the best bang for your buck. All of the meats are super flavorful but I would recommend the black pepper diced beef rib, house original beef, house marinated beef, and the spicy pork belly. First off, they have robots, which is fine. The main issue that I had was with the quality of the food. We attended for our friend's birthday and the service wasn't the best. The only time the server came, was to take our order and ask if we wanted something else. Then they kept rushing us to leave when they didn't close for an hour. I was there on Friday night and it's now sunday, DEFINITELY have food poisoning. I thought it was an isolated incident until I checked in with my friends who attended with me and we're all DEATHLY sick. I mean to give you an idea of how the food was, they ordered a round of garlic oysters and the very bottom was frozen. When I ate it, the very bottom had a crunch to it and had major freezer burn. We checked out this Jiang Niu BBQ last week and really enjoyed it! It was delicious, and so fun too. The robots, BBQ Ferris wheel, smokeless grills, cook-it-yourself food, and super friendly staff made this a great experience all around. I really enjoyed all of the beef selections, but they have so many more options too. The dinner is all you can eat for $35. Great setting. The apron is a nice touch. Meat is fresh, price is good for the selection of meats they offer. I do think it needs some work to get to that 5 star tho. For example, none of the meats are marinated. The meats are are prepared without any seasoning, that's right, not even salt, and when they r being served, they would then put the sauce or marinade on the top layer of the meat. Which isn't very efficient since it creates room for error like we were served regular pork belly when we ordered spicy so we ended up getting 2 plates of pork belly which kind of filled our stomach and didn't get to try some of the beef dishes we wanted to try. But the pork belly is good quality so still a good experience; the spicy pork belly definitely don't taste spicy tho lol The beef tastes pretty fresh which is a big bonus for ayce places. They use stove grill instead of charcoal and replaces the grill plate when it becomes dirty. I really wish I could say more about the food but since nothing is marinaded everything tastes exactly the same so it's down to the dipping sauce which is weird combination of peanut dust, sesame butter, and soy sauce. None of which you see at korean restaurants lol i wonder if they are still deciding or just ran out of sauces. I'm open to creativity but maybe do a garlic and green onion oil dip, a spicy dip, and maybe a yuzu sauce dip for a bit more flavor profile. Then focus on putting different cut on the menu and only do 1 or 2 marinaded meat and I mean actually marinade it so the meat is soaked in the marinade and not the marinade applied on the meat after sliced. There's a cut I really recommend for the marinade, the flat iron steak. It's a low budget cut that after marinading and a short grill tastes tender as it can be and really flavorful. The robots, i would recommend using them as serve yourself station. I would set it up so it circles the room with free appetizers or water and tea so customer can just grab those. And just make it so it's just all you can eat since a la carte menu is so expensive im not sure who would even order from it lol it's almost silly to see servers walking slowly following the robots just to have the robots tell them to get out of the way every now and then when they need to look for dishes for the table they are on. These robots were originally put in place to help labor shortage. When you have that many people on the floor servicing you really don't need a robot. Especially when you want tip for the service. The service provided from the robot needs to be different from the service provided by the servers otherwise it defeats the purpose of having both. read more

Be aware that this restaurant force you to pay 18% tip on your bill. They will charge 18% service fee automatically without asking. When you find out that on your check and questioned, they will only says "that's the written code in the system, system add the 18% fee automatically on each check", which means no matter the quality of their service, they will forced you to pay the 18% tip and doesn't care your dining experience or even misunderstanding the meaning of word "tip". If you really wanna charge every customer 18% tip automatically, please provide high quality of service. Customer are willing to pay good amount tip if better service provided, but shouldn't force everyone to pay 18% like paying a priced item. Force/notify others to do something is very disgusting. Had the AYCE for lunch and all the meats were fantastic. Each order came out in a prompt manner and servers were constantly checking up on the table. The diced beef was my personal favorite but also tried the corn, kimchi fried rice, premium pork belly, spicy pork belly, marinated beef, garlic beef, and the mushrooms. It is definitely not a Korean Bbq.. meat quality is terrible.. brisket is so chewy to the point where you are unable to swallow it. Ribeye steak, what should be the most flavorful cut of meat is not good. The dipping sauce is different from typical kbbq and what differentiates the kbbq experience from other cuisine of having the side dishes was bare minimum. Yes there's a cute atmosphere and robot serving but drinks were never filled.. their grill cooks unevenly so some part of meat will be raw while other parts will be burning on the same cut of meat. Forget about cooking potatoes as it will not cook.. until the end of the meal where most of it will be burnt... Also their Edamame is so undercooked it is hard to pop them out of the pods.. it is definitely money and experience wasted. read more

one of my favs for ayce bbq! the bbq buddy is a must get along with the corn cheese. the corn was sweet and the mozzarella was super stretchy. the ssamjang and the garlic that comes with the bbq buddy pairs well with the pork belly. i also recommend their cold noodles! it is an extra charge but it's so refreshing. it is a little pricey when you compare it to other ayce restaurants in chicago, premium ayce for two people came out to around $80 without tip. however, it is the only chinese bbq in the area and their quality is decent and consistent. today the service was a little slow but there was also a lot of people due to the holiday. the interior is cute and the booths are comfy. id recommend if you feel like splurging and if you're in the area! read more

Came in tonight with my family and we were so excited to try a new AYCE Korean bbq. It's priced at 34.99 and it came with different varieties of beef, side dishes and soups. Most of the beef were not marinated enough causing it to not have any flavor. It was also not tender and very tough. I also had 2 soups. The spicy seafood soup was flavorful and spicy however the seaweed soup was bland and eggs were over cooked. Services were on point but the sauces were lagging. There was only three options: sweet soy, peanut butter, and cumin powder. All in all it's not worth the 35 bucks, cuz there are better quality beef with a more reasonable price. read more

DISAPPOINTED I decided to give this one a try after seeing so many 'influencers' rave about this restaurant. I visited with a group of 3 on a weekday afternoon. This restaurant does a all you can eat BBQ with different meat options and vegetables. I did notice that there were other dishes on the menu as well. Why was I disappointed? To begin with I felt rushed and that could be because of the miscommunication since none of the servers speak fluent English. NO ONE understood what we were saying.They were courteous checking on us occasionally but it was very annoying not able to communicate. I felt cramped in the booth we sat there was no space to move our legs. The shrimp was not peeled. When it was grilled the skin would stick and make it difficult to come off. It was disappointing cleaning and peeling shrimp while getting our hands messy. Yes the grill burned the meats and veggies and we couldn't eat most of it because it was burnt. This business that created an interesting concept by having a robot server but they have so much to work on. read more

The grill was not hot enough, it took almost 15 minutes to cook zucchini and mushrooms....and they did not swap the grill at all so it was very charred at the end... I suppose we didn't ask for it to be swapped but I am used to that being part of the standard service at BBQ. The flame was on the highest setting, and after multiple checks I wondered if we were booboo the fool using the pilot light to cook. Overall, the food was pretty good - we ordered the premium all you can eat BBQ. When we ordered we tried to get the BBQ buddy, which includes romaine lettuce leaves which are, in my opinion, a staple at BBQ. The server brought out the jalapenos, sauce, and garlic that come with the BBQ buddy, but told us they did not have any more lettuce. No problem, I can understand being out of lettuce, until at the end of our meal, I see the table next to us with a veritable garden of lettuce and other veggies, and someone who appeared to be the chef kept coming out to check on this other table. I know it was lunch time, but our bill was still almost $150.00. The meal was ok but would have been infinitely better with fresh veggies along with all the meat. Not sure why lettuce is what they chose to skimp on, maybe we did something wrong. It felt weird and uncomfortable to see another table served with what we had been told was not available. It's a shame because I was about to make this my regular BBQ spot until we saw "the not lettuce." The value is good for the food, but not good enough to be treated poorly. I read many poor reviews about this restaurant and I decided to give it a shot anyway, because usually reviews are bogus, but this one is for real. All said and done it was such a disappointment, there are so many other BBQ restaurants to choose from in Chicago, and ultimately this one isn't doing anything different so just go somewhere else. It might was well be all you can watch because not much eating occured 1/10 Food was really good (9/10) especially the soup! but the setup was just too inconvenient to do all you can eat. It was just okay - we've dined at several Korean BBQ place and had better. The restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. However, like many other reviewers mentioned, the service was not great. We had two waitstaff for our group of 10 and they seemed impatient and were not great at explaining anything on the menu for our group. The restaurant is relatively new, and it was our first time dining, so we were hoping for more of a guidance on how to order, etc. They were also out on several menu items too. None of the dishes we got were bad, but they were mostly average. I tended to like the sides over the main meats (cheese corn, button mushrooms with their side teriyaki-esque sauce, and s'mores).
