Good damn, where have you been all my life, Jimmy John? I have been going to Subway and Quiznos. Somebody told me about you and now, I am talking. What sets JJ sub sandwiches apart from other sandwich stations is its bread and the available sprouts for additional fee. The bread has a crust in it and make it delicious. I finished the 8' inches Pepe. But the counter guy at this location who took my order was annoyed me. When I asked to add onions, cucumber, and other free fillers, he repeated the condiments like he wanted me to just get a simple Pepe. I can't really fault this location of Jimmy John's, but I think the chain's business model needs work. The menu has a really confusing layout, listing a bunch of sandwiches with crazy names leaving you to read the tiny list of ingredients next to them. What if I want just specific ingredients on my sandwich? I have no idea if you can just tell them "turkey and ham on wheat; tomato; lettuce; onions; mustard." It's been over a year since I've been to Jimmy John's in Columbia, so I took a quick drive over there this morning. Nothing much has changed at the Columbia location, and that's good. I can tell you one thing though: this location was packed for a Thursday afternoon. I never had the chance to try out the Totally Tuna, which comes with fresh housemade tuna, mixed with celery, onions, and JJ's sauce; then topped with alfalfa sprouts, cucumber, lettuce, and tomato. I went ordered that to go: a good choice indeed. The tuna fish was prepared well, the bread was soft, and accompanying vegetables played well with the overall sandwich. Employees were friendly, even with the rush of people coming in. It was good coming back to one of my former go-to spots for lunch. read more

Not impressed. In fact disappointing. Asked for a turkey tom on a wrap also got a drink and chips. Order made pretty quick, went and poured an unsweetened tea. Look for sugar and there is NO sugar. Only sweet & low if you ask for it. No thanks. Also have to request napkins. Found a spot outside to eat and unwrap to find a sub roll no wrap. Had to go back for them to fix and the girl said no wraps only lettuce. Huh? (She didn't speak good English). The guy next to her said you have to ask for that and so I said I did ask and also asked for avocado. I went during lunch on a weekday. The inside seating is fairly small, but there were empty seats, and the many employees standing around the counter looked bored. I wouldn't hold that against the place, but I would expect a little more cheerfulness from the person that waited on us. I got the vegetarian sub and it was lackluster. Some of the reviews pointed out how good the bread is. I found their "world famous bread" (according to the sign in the store) to be tasteless and slightly tough. Any of Subway's breads would taste better, for instance. Perhaps their 7-grain bread would be better, apparently only available if you buy a more expensive sub. The fillings were also bland - including the avocado spread - and it certainly wasn't a stuffed sub with just a minimal amount of each ingredient. I was biting thru tasteless bread, lots of mayo, chilled lettuce, a tasteless tomato, meek provalone cheese, etc. (On a side note: The mayo, according to their website, adds over 200 calories. You might want to skip it and ask for spicy mustard instead - less calories and more taste.) I added the kettle chips which were crunchy and very good. I'd be open to trying more things there, but there isn't much for a vegetarian beyond the one sandwich. Perhaps, this sandwich doesn't show them at their best. But from this one experience, the restaurant boasts style in its signs, offering the appearance of history, uniqueness, and world-famous excellence. The substance fell short. read more

However, they are so set on "crazy fast" service that when ordering you feel rushed - when you tell them you don't want certain things on the sandwich - several times they've rung up the order and given me my total while I'm in the middle of saying, EZ on the lettuce, etc. Slow down on the order taking. read more

Good sandwich, friendly staff. Price is good. The set up is a little odd though. After I order my sandwich (having been there for the first time), I wasn't told where to pick it up or if it will be brought to me or anything. I went to go fill my drink, only I couldn't find any lids. Then I hear someone shout out "#4?!"... I assumed that was me, so I said yes and he handed me the wrapped sandwich. My order was to go and I wasn't offered a bag, which there was a stack right in front of the employee. I reache down and said "May I?" and he said yes. I don't know what exactly what was going on behind the counter, but all of the guys making the sandwiches kept giggling and staring at me... which was weird. The ingredients were of good quality, but there was waaaay too much guacamole on the sandwich and I didn't find anything about it super impressive. When I need a quick (really quick) lunch, I love coming to JJ's. My favorites are the turkey and the tuna and I know it'll take them quite literally 5 minutes to make my sandwich so I can be on my way. "Freaky fast" is no lie. I did have a bad experience with delivery service once that made me re-think my "favorite" status. However, after I filled out an online complaint, I was pleasantly surprised to get an email, a call from the regional corporate office, a call from the local manager, and an apology gift card in the mail the next week! We order from them atleast 2-3 times a week. They are efficient, always get the order right and if for some reason they don't, they quickly fix the order for us. Ordered delivery tonight (222624072) at 6:28pm using their android app. It said my delivery would take about 30 minutes. At 7:45pm I called to see where my food was. The system changed my order to pickup instead of delivery as I was 3 miles away and they just changed the delivery area. No customers were in the store when I drove to get my food but no one thought to call me. Food was OK but will probably recommend against ordering from there again and will tell my friends although they claim speedy service you better call and make sure they will deliver to you. They only have like a 1 mile delivery radius. No wonder they say they're quick. They only deliver across the street. read more

Excellent menu, love the Unwich option to lower your carb. It allows you to reduce your carb intake by switching out the bread for lettuce wrap. The prices are reasonable and ingredients are fresh. Bland. There is nothing gourmet about this place. The bread isn't anything great. Plain french bread sub roll that is thin. If you want BLAND this is your place! The iceberg lettuce was shredded like Taco Bell lettuce. Their ingredients were all canned and things you could find at a local store. Canned tuna, hellman's. There wasn't anything unique, spectacular, flavorful, or good about the Pepe sub I got. It tasted like a sandwich I'd make at home... Very bland. Prepackaged ingredients...not much flavor at all. The fresh baked bread was awesome! I ordered a #9, Italian Cold Cut, with the works. My taste buds are still salivating. The chips were substantial, crunchy and excellent in taste. The chilled dill pickle was just the right compliment to the sandwich. The sweet iced tea is to die for! The preparation speed was incredible. I had my order delivered shortly after I paid for it! Awesome! I would definitely visit this eatery as often as possible! The interior of the store had some very interesting and thought provoking signage. Quick delivery. A lot of people use them daily at my job so the quality of the food must be good enough for everyone. I personally love the sandwiches due to the quick delivery and simplicity. Prices are cheap too. Some people have complained about missing items in their orders but luckily I haven't had that issue. read more

The best part about JJ's is their french roll! It is the BEST bread. It's always fresh, and you can also buy day old rolls for .50 a roll. I always get the Country Club, which is turkey, ham and provolone and comes with LTM. I always get extra mayo. I seriously could eat just a tomato and mayo sandwich on this bread. I have tried the BLT, Tuna, and the Veggie, but I always go back to the Country Club. Their Salt and Vinegar chips are probably my favorite kettle chips. I wish I could buy them in a bigger bag! Their delivery is super fast and also convenient. I used to work in Columbia and on days it was raining it's butt off and I didn't bring lunch, I would go online and order JJ's to deliver. Good place if you you're tired of everyone else's mediocre sub. Basic, non-gimmicky subs, made out of quality ingredients. You pay a little extra but they don't cut corners much. Not very big, not many tables, the layout is Subwayish, they do have a few more tables outside. You get your choice of a small bag of kettle chips with your sub. Kettle chips are my least favorite type, they should offer something better (like those brown Utz peanut oil chips) but that's not happening I'm sure. Soda refills are free. And they do make your sub "freaky fast", it might be ready before you fill your drink. They cater, these are cater quality subs. read more

Probably the worst sandwich I've ever had. I know sandwiches I used to run marchones Italian deli in Wheaton. I was gonna go to noodle and co. And decide on something diffrent . Ordered the beach club. There were like 6-7 employees they all welcomed me when I walked in and were obviously very bored . The place was empty at 4 pm . The tables and floor were all dirty. As soon as I ordered I told the very polite cashier it was my first time there. As soon as I sat down I noticed that the sandwich came on a French roll and also with mayo, I stood back up to tell them I wanted it on 7 grain wheat bread. Before I could even get it out my mouth the guy was handing me my sandwich already finished in less than a minute from the time I ordered. The only drinks they offer are soda fountain drinks no bottled drinks not even juice!!! What kind of a deli is it? I told the sandwich maker there was no avocado on my sandwich and he showed how they put it under the meat and between the cheese. It was the spreadable packaged guacamole not even fresh avocado! There wasn't much meat on there either so I asked for extra meat and was charged a 1.50$ extra. I asked to have my sandwich made over on the wheat bread no mayo( they put on like a cup and half of mayo on a supposedly healthy beach club!! Also to put extra meat and add mustard. They sandwich was completed in about 30 seconds. They are lightening quick!!!!! Wow! Too bad the sandwich isn't gourmet and is just a little better than a prepared grocery store sandwich!!! Just like their little slogan on there take out menu I should have read before I wasted my $10 on a crappy sandwich and 1.50 soda fountain drink yuk! The turkey says fresh baked turkey breast, but it looked like prepackaged round turkey like cheap brand. Tomatos were not good, the lettuce was ice rug that was shredded to death. It also said they had fresh baked 7 grain thick bread . It wasn't fresh baked for sure.
