We love working with this Jimmy John's! I work at a school near by this Jimmy John's location in Downey and this location is one of the only places that we do business with for food. Jimmy John's catering does such a great job. The sandwiches are always on time and tasty. We work with Jessica and she makes sure the students are well taken care of. Which is all you can ask for as a teacher. Sometimes Jimmy John's also sends the staff sandwiches to show their support of the teachers. Asked the guy what Jimmy Johns is known for and he said "their speed of service." Nothing about the sandwich quality? Maybe something about their ham? I wasn't even asked what I wanted on my sandwich. And also I was told these were all cold sandwiches and couldn't be heated like subway or Jersey Mike's. First and last time coming here. This is not a sandwich shop. This is a salad shop. I ordered the # 16 (The Lulu). Apparently, the Lulu is lettuce stuffing with ONE slice of turkey & one strip of bacon. The bread is disgusting. I just threw it out. The service is as bad as the sandwich. I watched them bag 2 customer's orders but they left mine on the counter. I didn't think it would be fair to judge them on such a crazy day so I won't tell you that we waited for 45 minutes to place our order or that our subs were wrong or that they forgot to give us our $1.50 pickle or...well you get the picture. So we came back and gave them another try. This time our order was right because we complained about the last incorrect order from customer appreciate day so the girl made sure to get everything right. This is what I think: OVERPRICED AND UNDERWHELMING! 8 inch French Roll and THREE pieces of meat. THREE!!! I don't like a lot of meat anyway, but honestly, that's stupid cheap. It was all bread and definitely lacked flavor. I tried oil & vinegar and mustard and still shitty. My hubs fed his to the dog and tossed the rest. Sad. For $6, there should be at least 5-6 pieces of meat per sub. Even dumb Subway gives you that much meat. Probably won't be back but I am sure they won't miss me. If you're looking for an overly dressed sandwich, this isn't it. They used freshly baked bread which is soft but has that slight chew. Their meats are thinly sliced and paired together perfectly with the veggies. Just want the meat and cheese? You can order it that way too. We ordered the Italian Club night and the Vito. They were similar in flavor but the Italian has ham in addition to the genoa salami and capicola. Added the hot peppers to the Vito, which added delicious flavor and just a little heat. My husband thought the sandwiches were a bit dry but if you like more dressing or mayo, I'm sure they could slap a little extra on for you. Been to jimmy Johns a lot and I have always gotten great service and food, tonight was a nightmare, the guy helping us was rude and very unprofessional. We got a club lulu that got destroyed and looks terrible, then we ordered a number 13 and we got it with just cheese and avocado. They also said they were out of 9 grain wheat bread, at a sandwich place! Worst service I have ever received from any fast food place ever, the manager really needs to rethink what kind of people he hires. It's amazing what one persons bad personality can do. I Brought my dad here to grab lunch today at 12:45pm to be exact. (I couldn't get her name since she wasn't wearing a tag) It was our first time at jimmy jons. The Food was okay and was prepped fast. The place was very clean. However, the cashier had a very bad attitude. There was about 6 people working at the time and only one cashier. We waited in line for about two minutes and when our turn to order came around Not only did she rush me to order but when I asked what kind of bread they had and asked about a specific one she shrugged and made a confused face/noise at me as though I was stupid. I then asked about their new product "the Frenchie" and AGAIN, she kind of sighed and gave me an attitude. After ordering and as my dad and I were walking away she loudly apologized to the man behind us saying "sorry about that", sorry about me taking an extra 20 seconds to decide what I wanted to eat ? Why couldn't one of the other 5 people that were on their phones take the second register ? This bothered my dad very much and let's just say that I had a hard time eating my food after that. But that's not the end! As I was getting my drink I overheard her whispering to the other woman that was behind the counter, something about me in Spanish. I speak Spanish - you're not so slick. Whoever reads this review- corporate, managers, etc. I am a paying customer- which also works in customer service- I should not be treated as though taking my order is a burden. Their jalapeno chips and chocolate chips cookies are also a must for a side order. I had a bad experience at Jimmy's a few weeks ago at the Downey location. I had asked the cashier for 3 cups of water with my order, while I was checking out he handed me 3 cups and didn't say anything about charging me for them. I continued checking out and proceeded to go and get water. When I was about to walk out the door the manager started yelling at us to stop and pay for the water. I told her that her employee gave me the cups and said nothing about paying for them. She acted like I was stealing water cups and made feel stupid with her comments and accusation. I told her she didn't need to be upset with us but her employee for not telling us about it while we were paying. I have no problem paying for something just let me know at that time so I don't have to come back. So I told her to refund my purchase because of attitude and the way she was yelling at us and embarrassed us in front of everyone in the restaurant. She refused. We left the cups and walked out and while we were walking out she thanked us in a rude and sarcastic tone. Wow...I have never experienced anything like this. I don't think I'll be buying from this company anymore since they let their employees jeopardize their business and talk to their paying customers like this. Corporate, please review message sent to you online. Im having to send a message on my lunch instead of eating a sandwich. I would say 3 out of 5 times my order is wrong. I even have an existing credit for the wrong sandwich last time. Sandwich chips and drink. ( I forgot about that for a minute honestly , but I do remember the guy that assisted me was nice). This time was just a sandwich. I asked them to deliver a new sandwich, I work right across the street. I could have returned this sandwich with all the meat in it so they can see the mistake. I ordered a veggie. I have the receipt. They told me I needed to pay a delivery fee on their mistake. Im pretty much over the service. I'm 2 sandwiches down now, that I did not eat.
