On my hunt for good BAO BUNS I came across this lovely place I ordered their "California buns " Comes with 2pcs with crabmeat, avocado , cucumber and spicy mayo (They had no shrimp bun" It was good and full I also had an order of Eel and cucumber roll (It was so so) The Resturant have a very homey feeling, The staff was very friendly There's 2 entrence to the Resturant And 3 cover outside dining area A small seating area to wait for your food Overall it was ok

It's ok. It's not the most super authentic Japanese place. Actually the tonkotsu broth was horrible. It was so light and thin. I'm not saying non-Japanese people can't do ramen, but they definitely wouldn't let this stuff fly. I also got a spider roll and it tasted super fishy. I still ate it cause I'm cheap, but blegh. The pork was super tasty. I liked the toppings. The noodles were ok. Just fix the broth please. You can't be selling tonkotsu like that. It was more shio.

I couldn't be more thrilled to celebrate this business! I ordered 3 rolls to go, pork belly fried rice, salt and pepper calamari, and pork belly buns. Everything my friend and I shared was exquisite! I had never had calamari in a shape like that but it had great texture. The bun was perfect in every aspect and I loved the cucumber. The fried rice had a deep pork flavor with so much umami. And...the sushi was some of the freshest sushi I have ever had. We asked for extra chipotle mayo and they gave us a lot! Wish I knew about this place when I lived here.

Besides the name change, if a business' menu, food preparation, and management has changed so much, it really is no longer the same business, and reviews for it's former version should not be allowed to carry over. When I wrote my first review almost two years ago, it was for Dashi Noodle House. Though my opinion on the food wasn't high, I felt they had potential. As Jin Ramen, it has only gotten worse. I haven't been back since my last review, and today, I walked into a completely different restaurant. Menu is completely different: It is a larger menu and has happy hour specials. I felt good about this...at first. When I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen, I was asked what type of noodles I wanted. I'm at a ramen joint, so I said "wavy". No, my choices were ramen or udon. I should have seen that as a red flag. Food recipes and preparation is different: My order came and I immediately noticed the difference in the pork slices. Previously, they served round cuts of char siu pork. Now they serve theses dry slices of pork belly that are missing the distinct layers of fat. They were mildly marinated and quite bland, though not nearly as bland as the "tonkotsu" broth, which may have been the blandest and most diluted version of pork bone broth I've ever had. Not rich. Not flavorful. Not reconizable as tonkotso. My ramen...a slab of mushy, straight noodles that somehow added to the blandness of the dish. Ya'll...I added soy sauce to my ramen! That, along with two types of hot sauce that got dumped in the broth, made it mildly tolerable. Another thing to note since I mentioned it on my original review, Dashi's Shoyu Ramen was made of duck broth and Jin's is made of chicken. So this is a completely different menu. Management stlye is different: No longer a tip-free restaurant, which suggests to me that wages were lowered for the servers and they are back to relying on tips for wages. I did have excellent service. My server was super attentive. When I asked for hot sauce, he brought me chili oil, as well as asking the kitchen for the hot sauce they put in the spicy miso ramen. Believe me, I needed both! On this day, the food was so bad (please see my 7/28/19 photos of their Tonkotsu Ramen), I can't even add a star of the good service.

Absolutely delish with very quick service! Wooden benches are a tad wiggly for little kids - but simple and clean atmosphere for a nice lunch.

Went here quickly for an afternoon lunch. Seated super quickly and love the environment in here. The lighting in the booths in the front were so nice. Everything we got was amazing! Their vegetable gyoza is tasty and so is the ramen. The ramen was on the colder side. Would've preferred it to be hotter. I asked for some hot sauce and it upgraded the vegetarian broth. All in all - quality food and I love coming here.

A neighborhood local favorite sushi place stop at. The outdoor seating is cute and provides sectioned off areas per table. The sushi prices are decent and they have a great selection. We usually get about two specialty rolls and then one normal roll to split between two people and the mochi ice cream for dessert and that's usually enough. The inside is kind of small but there's only certain areas that feel like they have AC. As far as the food goes all of the specialty rolls we've tried have been great, advise against the dish that is called seafood salad or ceviche can't remember, that's the only dish we've been unpleasantly surprised for. Service is good but sometimes slow to refill water. Other than that I love coming here! I typically like to try new restaurants but this one I've came back to more than once so that says a lot !

I have visited Dashi Noodle House 3 times so far. The first time was during their soft opening, we were told that all of their food items were sold out. During my second visit, I was served cold edamame, that is the first and only time I have edamame that is cold. I also didn't like the pork buns during my second visit, they put in way too much hoisin sauce and the big piece of lettuce did not go well with the rest of the pork bun. I gave this restaurant another chance 2 weeks ago. I could see that the food quality has improved. First, the edamame was hot (not cold anymore). Second, they changed the recipe of their pork buns, the pork belly is no longer soaked in hoisin sauce, and they replaced the big piece of lettuce with sliced cucumber. Their ramen was also better prepared, the noodles are cooked medium-firm, and the soup also has more flavor in it. In addition, the center of the egg is actually runny during my last visit, instead of solid hard. I have tried their shoyu, spicy miso and tonkotsu ramen so far, the tonkotsu ramen has the richest flavor out of all three, the other ones taste very bland. Other than food quality, the restaurant itself is very spacious, they have a room in the back that could fit more people. I believe this place has improved a lot since my first visit, but there is still room for improvement in terms of the tastes of their food. The service was ok.

I was in the neighborhood for work and found this little ramen spot near by. I started off with the salmon skin salad which was great. The salmon skin were perfectly crispy and no soggy what so ever. It also came with some skin lmk pieces of Salomon meat which complimented this dish very well. The Pork Tonkatsu ramen was Okay. The noodles were nothing special. The egg was almost perfectly cooked. But was slightly liver cooked. The broth felt a bit watered down and not as rich as I expected. However the pork belly was great. Super tender and it just melted in my mouth. If I do say so myself the pork belly saved this whole Tonkatsu dish.

Love this place. Super fresh fish, some of the best sushi I've had. Staff are amazing super friendly, which is a rarity these days. The neighborhood is old school which is great, but it's also nice to have some modern looking style like Dashi to bring the neighborhood alive. This place is great! My girlfriend and I were not expecting too much from this place but it was super satisfying :') I got the shoyu and she got the tonkotsu. There was a juuust right amount of toppings and noodles for days. We also got the grilled peppers which were surprisingly super tasty. I'd show you my shoyu but I have nothing to show you :c Great atmosphere, great service, speedy service, and not too expensive. 5 stars because we'll DEFINITELY be going again :3 read more

Very good ramen! I give it 4 stars when compared to all ramen spots, but I'm giving 5 stars since its the only ramen spot in Ridgewood (as of the time im writing this). I've tried both the spicy miso and vegetarian ramen. They finally delivery now through Uber Eats, and they have special containers just for ramen delivery! A++ read more

Fist time visiting this place. I want to start by saying they do have an amazing customer service and they mean it (thank you!) it makes the experience much better and welcoming. But, the food quality is not there, is way too salty and it doesn't have flavor. If the food quality was there I will defiantly comeback 100%. Also the prices are very high for eating Noodles with no flavor costing me $45 for 3 people. Keep working and please IMPROVE your food quality and flavor and believe me your business will be successful. Thank you for service today. read more

I've been here a handful of times since it is nearby in hopes of finding a go-to place on a hold night. Sadly, the ramen has disappointed massively every single time. Combine that with the incredibly rude manager, there is no reason to return here in a city and neighborhood filled with wonderful food. read more

No ratings for this place this place deserves a big fat 0 I went for the opening I was so excited to taste the noodles wen I took one bite I couldn't swallow it I thought I was goin to throw up !!!!!!! The noodles where not cooked well it felt like I was eating play tho is was the worst noodles I have ever tasted my husband eats anything so I figure I was bugging out so I paid for his plate and walked away but wen he took a spoon of the soup he took the whole plastic bowl an tossed it out the widow sorry that's how bad it was !!!!!! We were super impressed with our experience today. First thing I noticed was how much natural beautiful light comes in through the open air front wall (glass and wooden doors). Everything photograph beautifully in here. We ordered two noodle soups, the pork buns and the pork belly. Very tasty. Broth was rich and a very comfortable temperature. Good attention to detail. All in all, our compliments and congratulations to you, Dashi Noodle House. We're glad you've come to ridgewood. read more

This is a great spot. The menu is simple and scrumptious. The atmosphere is relaxing. The food is delicious. The service is great. It's a nice addition to the neighborhood. My husband and I are obsessed with Ramen. We've been to most of the popular spots in the city, Minca and Mr Taka are our favorites. The ramen here is really good. I had fairly low expectations not wanting to get my hopes up and now I'm worried about having this ramen so close to home. We are going to be here a lot. We got the shrimp buns and pork buns. Both were great. The pork is perfectly melt in your mouth tender and crispy on the edges. We both got the tonkotsu, a solid bowl of ramen. My only complaint would be that I like the egg cooked maybe a minute longer but that is just my preference . The atmosphere is great, especially with the front doors open. They don't have a liquor license now, hopefully in the future. I can't wait to try everything else on the menu. read more

I love this place! I've recently moved into the neighborhood and I'm so glad to have found a go-to sushi spot. I ordered more than enough sushi for three people and it arrived exactly correct, within a reasonable time frame, and it was incredibly inexpensive! We got maki and spicy maki combos, as well as a salmon avocado roll, shrimp tempura roll, and flying fish roe sushi. All of the sushi was excellent and the miso soup was some of the best I've had. Soup bowls are small for the price. $30.84 dollars for 2 soups was a lil expensive! I had the vegetable soup great taste! It's a no tip establishment but really how can you not tip! $36.84 total 2 soups. That's expensive !!!! I won't go back. read more

Expensive! Tiny portions that for the price should at least blow you away. They don't, instead the noodles are mediocre on a good day. I haven't tried any of the other dishes, the service was ok, and it's a no tipping establishment which is a nice touch and explains the higher prices. Overall despite the place being "trendy", it fails to impress. There is better ramen out there. read more

I get to the place at 10:12pm when it says that they close at 11pm. They told me that they closed a minute ago and didn't took my order. So poor guest service. The place had other customers and the door was open but out of nowhere they were close. read more

Terrible. Ordered delivery via Seamless. Two hours later and after the restaurant had closed, our food arrived. Sushi was warm. Ramen was mushy and cold. Cucumbers broke open and leaked everywhere. Pork buns completely missing. We cannot eat this food even though we are starving (and I'm pregnant no less!!) Demanding a refund. read more

Tontaksu ramen was bland and rather disappointing. I also never thought I would say this but, they put too many noodles in. Pork bun was a dry piece of pork on a sad bun. Smashed cucumbers weren't bad. Is try this again but would order something completely different just to make sure. read more

This place has a very relaxing interior and good food. They could use some minor improvements. The ramen we ordered didn't have enough soup and I think the soup base could definitely add more flavor! The pork belly was great however a bit sweet. Their pork buns are a bit different, it's more like a Peking duck style pork bun but it's still delicious. Overall decent local spot! Would definitely come back and also would love to see minor tweaks for this place to be even better! read more

The crushed cucumber salad was good but a bit on the salty side. The shrimp buns were amazing!!! Definitely recommend them. However, the ramen itself wasn't the greatest. I got the duck ramen and the flavor wasn't really there. I asked the waiter what she recommended and she said the duck, but it was definitely a let down. My partner ordered the spicy miso which was my second choice and that was a bit better. I think they need to work more on the flavors. Might come back if I'm around the area but it's definitely not somewhere that I'd drive to again. read more

Decided to try this place out with husband and children for our anniversary. Our oldest chose to have pork buns and scallion pancakes, he loved them and was really filled up before he could finish. Our little one chose to have chicken shoyu ramen, she just wanted the noodles and soup, but it was a huge bowl for her so she couldn't finish and ended up packing it home. Husband ordered pork gyoza and chicken yaki ramen, he was very delighted and thought it tasted great. I've ordered a tonkotsu ramen. All the dishes were well portioned. Very clean establishment. Also liked the idea that the sink is outside of the restroom, it's brilliant! Our waiter was very courteous and attentive. Our daughter really liked their door curtain, they were of rabbits (there's one rabbit on the moon making mochi!), we kind of really like bunny rabbits. Comfortable environment, good lighting, warm staff. Looking forward to coming back again. read more

My order took over an hour and a half to arrive. I just received the "Your order is on the way" text at the time it was supposed to arrive. My food was cold and my order was also incorrect. I asked for no menma on both of my orders and they gave me menma. I asked for an extra soft boiled egg and did not receive it. I am very sick, unable to speak, and just wanted my soup before bed but it took forever. The delivery man didn't read the instructions and I had to go outside to get the food. This place is a mess. This is the second time this has happened to me ordering from this restaurant. Don't bother, the food is underwhelming and they don't pay attention to instructions. read more

Went there after around 1 on a Saturday and the place was empty. Ordered a vegetarian ramen which was really really bad. I looked up to see the employees staring at me while I ate which made me extremely uncomfortable. This happened more than once in the 20 minutes I was there. One of the employees was short with me and barely acknowledged me when I went up to pay for my food. Really uncomfortable situation - the owners should teach their employees that staring at guests while they eat is rude. I would never go here again because the staff is below average and so was the ramen. read more

This place has excellent service even though she was a little late to bring our appetizers out and served our ramen first. The shrimp buns tasted like they mashed up the whole shrimp with the shell into a patty, it was very crunchy and made my friends stomach hurt. I've had quite a lot of experience eating ramen and this has to be the top three worst I've tried. read more

I walked into the establishment feeling welcomed. Staff was really nice, checking in on me and if the food was alright in decent intervals. It wasn't busy at all, since I came in during lunch hours, so service was extremely well-paced. I ordered the pork ramen, in which she offered me the lunch special which came with a side of seaweed salad and mini dumplings. They were ready quickly and I enjoyed them while the rest of my food was ready. I ordered the spicy tuna rolls, which were inexpensive and delicious, and the pork buns. The pork buns were really soft and different from what I generally have eaten before. The pork was tender and well-seasoned. It was the same pork that was used in the ramen, expect more tender and delicious. However, the only thing I did not enjoy was that the ramen tasted slightly bland. Presentation was amazing, but the rame was the only thing that threw me off as it was not as seasoned as I'm used to. The pork was esquisite, and it came with bok choi, 1/2 an egg, and a couple other components. I'll probably alter the soup next time I come in so it's more versed to my taste. They packed up my leftovers, which were good up to an hour later when I arrived home. Definetely returning and its very affordable. read more

If COVID does not kill me, this deity restaurant may will. Food is not cheap compared to the other restaurant in the neighborhood but the service was really really poor. Tables are very dirty, u can see food in the gap. Wanted to take pictures but don't want my phone to get food poisoning. Server is not very polite, feel like eating in a low end restaurant. Playing Chinese music at a Japanese restaurant was a little weird, but that was not the worst, the worst was that I have to argue with my waiter over who made the mistake on my food, funny, he told me I don't understand what I ordered, he also insist that I try it and maybe I will like it. No I do not! I do can tell between ground pork and pork belly:) thank you! Asked to take the wrong order to go but saw my waiter packing my food in a very unsanitary area and in a very unsanitary way. Oh and I have to pay the full price for the wrong order... I loved the decor of this restaurant. I typically don't write reviews, but wow. Jin Ramen's sushi is truly a service that fulfills its purpose. I ordered an udon bowl which was averagely priced, but let me tell you, it tasted delicious. The noodles were beautifully done and the soup was off the charts good. Every time I drank the soup, I could only feel the authenticity and its gushing flavor with every sip I took. The service was spectacular, and my waiter was so polite and sweet!
