Cute little shop. I ordered online and then went to wait to get my drink. I was the only one in there and they were busy chatting and working on my order. They did get my order wrong. I wanted pudding in my drink but I guess cause 2/4 other drinks had pearls they just gave them all pearls.. I even looked on my cup and it says pudding but guess it was ignored. By the time we drove away and gave it to our friends I realized mine didn't have it and it was too late. So try your drinks before you leave‍. Drink was ok. This is my favorite boba place in Pasadena, and I've tried most of them. Yes, it is certainly one of the most expensive ones, but I think it is worth it. Their tea flavor is simply the best. It is not overly sweet and has a much richer flavor than the syrup pumps you get elsewhere. I usually get the high mountain tea, but it is worth trying the range of their milk teas once. The boba place is very small and sadly they took away the little seating that they had. Not a good place if you need to sit down or want a place to cool off. Their service is always fast and I like the feel of their compostable packaging/straws. read more

I've stuck mainly with their specialties and those have all been good. The drink quality is clearly higher than average but you do pay a premium. SERVICE Pay at the left counter, wait for your drink, pick up your drink on the right side. SHOP The shop is really small. There's a small table on one side of the store but you're going to be taking your drink to go. PARKING This is old town so expect limited street parking. I enjoy their high mountain teas too, which often feel rare to come across when it comes to boba shops. I'm sure many of us have noticed prices increase across the board nowadays; everything is getting more expensive, gas is almost as expensive as boba now! It's hard to find a boba place charging under $6 for quality tea. So when I first came into Jin, I did have some price shock. My drink was almost $8 with boba, but i was so happy after taking that first sip- it was definitely worth it. The tea quality here is great, definitely S tier, with maybe only Chi Cha San Chen being comparable. The tea was floral, flavorful, and not bitter at all. I usually get the high mountain oolong at 75% sweetness with boba. I've been here around 10 times now I think, and their tea is usually pretty consistent. Background: Boiling Point next door actually doesn't serve any boba drinks (unlike the Arcadia location) and I believe Jin Tea Shop and Boiling Point are connected and managed together, as I was directed here by a BP employee. Ambiance/ My Visit: A very small shop with maybe three seats on the side. You can not customize the ice and sugar levels of Jin Specialty drinks, likely because they are premade in a glass bottle!! I was disappointed too, because the BP in Arcadia serves Hokkaido Milk Tea, and they do not serve it here. I ordered: Signature Organic Milk #1 (2/5) - Organic Milk with Tofu Pudding, Egg Pudding, and Brown Sugar Boba. They don't seem to serve "regular" milk tea here. The organic milk is literally just SUGARY MILK. I found that part a bit gross, to be honest. I shouldn't have assumed but I was hoping for milk tea and not pure milk. The tofu pudding was grainy (I am sure it wasn't brown sugar because the grain didn't dissolve and it wasn't sweet) and didn't pair well with the drink in general. The egg pudding was fine. The boba was pretty good, a solid 4/5. Butterly Pea Lemonade (2/5) - Too sweet and overpriced. The butterfly pea did add a nice touch but the drink was not great overall. Verdict: I will not be returning based on the taste of the drink, also seeing that their drinks are overpriced and looking at the menu, the closest thing to a classic milk tea is their Oolong Milk Tea. First time here - this was actually a recommendation- ordered two drinks- the #10 - tofu pudding, brown sugar pearls, organic sweet milk drink- had it with less ice and 50%sweetened and the Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk tea also w less ice and 50% sweetened but added brown sugar pearls. Both drinks were highly recommended and both were different from each other. Both were extremely and pleasantly awesome. Taste wise- both were perfectly sweet - enough as a dessert drink- which I was for warned about- like a good finish to a nice lunch or dinner. Instead of dessert and coffee, you get the milk tea. Absolutely good. Service was awesome- my questions answered and staff was so accommodating, polite and knowledgeable of their products. Recommendations were awesome! Place was nice and clean and very light and welcoming. There are a few stools agains the wall to sit and sip but not enough for you to linger long. I'd buy and walk around Colorado! The drinks here are pretty pricey and this drink was on the cheaper side but still ended up to be $7.85 after tax. The drink is super airy but still packs a flavor. I really like that it tastes different than other boba places because of how light it is. The boba is also really good! Super chewy and it has a brown sugar flavor. DAY & NIGHT MILK TEA -- Look how cool this drink looks! so sleek. It's milk tea + charcoal. Mixed together, it tastes like milk tea. Fragrant oolong, milk, and brown sugar sweetness. Yep milk tea. Charcoal adds a slight graininess to it but it didn't affect the taste too much. No dry mouthfeel and it wasn't that strong. Specialty teas are a must try here. Not only do these drinks taste good, they are a treat for the eyes as well. They are definitely on the pricey end, but at least the quality and taste are good. Love potion is probably my favorite, though it is just a smidge too sweet. The day and night milk tea and the matcha latte with brown sugar are also good. For non-specialty teas, the roasted oolong milk tea is pretty tasty as well. The staff aren't really friendly or helpful if you have questions or need help figuring out what certain items are on the menu. Tip: Be sure to ask for a stamp card! If you want to reward yourself with a fancy cup of boba, this is the place to go. This is like the fanciest of bobas. Interestingly enough, they only serve oolong tea! Different versions of oolong tea, but JUST oolong tea. In a way, I like that they take ONE type of tea and build on that. It would suck if someone doesn't like oolong tea... but tbh who doesn't?! Hehe. My favorite thing to get here is the Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk tea. I'd say it's their "signature" in my opinion. 70% sweetness and regular ice with boba. Their boba is pretty good too - perfect consistency of chewy. It's also regular boba, not honeyboba which I prefer so it's not too sweet. My friend ordered their pretty pea drink (see photo) and that was good too! It's like an icy fruit drink, so I don't think it has caffeine in it. Their drinks ARE quite pricey so fair warning!! Finally got try this place after having it bookmarked for so long. The shop is located right between Color Me Mine and Boiling Point (across 85 degrees) in Pasadena. There's limited street parking in front but there's a parking lot down the street that offers free 90 minute parking! I decided to try their butterfly pea flower with lemonade drink since this was one of specialTEAS. The color of the drink was super unique and it came in a cute bottle. It was also super tasty (nice blend of tea with the lemonade). The tea wasn't too overpowering so it was very refreshing. My cousin also ordered the oolong milk tea with boba and he said it was one of his favorite drink so far. The price of their drinks are higher than other boba shops but it's worth it for their quality and presentation. I can't tell if the staff messed up but their roasted oolong wasn't roasted or they just gave me regular oolong. Probably regular oolong because they gave me ice when I asked for no ice. I can't blame them though. Customized drinks are difficult for everyone, especially those without LASIK. Ordered the grapefruit and passion fruit teas with roasted oolong for both. They're very healthy even at 100% sugar. And when I mean healthy, I mean they weren't sweet at all. At least I know they definitely use real grapefruit because it was slightly bitter like a real grapefruit that my very Asian mother used to force feed me after peeling. Passion fruit was a little more sweet and had lots of the crunchy seeds so that was fun. However, definitely ask for 150% sweetness if you have a lot of sweet tooth like me. You can definitely guarantee that both drinks had a strong tea taste though so it's legit. Staff was alright. I'm so excited that I get to knock out Jin from my bookmarked list. I have been dying to try their matcha latte. If you're not familiar with this part of Pasadena it's definitely worth the evening out. Down green street has so many great dinner options, there is vegan Thai food, hot pot, bars, Italian food and to end your night right Jin and 85 degrees is at the end of green. Fair warning there will be line whenever you visit Jin, people seem to line up for this crack tea. I lost count as I was in line, but there were endless to-go orders and large orders left and right, I seemed to be the only person who ordered 1 drink. I will happily admit that this tea is worth the wait! I absolutely loved the matcha latte with brown sugar. It was a wonderful bled of smooth matcha tea and pinch of sweetness from the brown sugar that makes your taste buds feel just right. Always heard about this place but never quite got the chance to try it till now; it's owned by Boiling Point next door. Needless to say, I was pretty disappointed considering the hefty price point. We ordered the Love Potion ($7.70), Matcha Latte with Brown Sugar ($7.43), and the Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk Tea ($6.16). The Love Potion and Matcha Latte with Brown Sugar were just bland, and because of the small cup size and drinks being non-adjustable, the ice basically took away 40% of the drink. Can't deny the nice looks and distinctive cup though! The Oriental Beauty Oolong Milk Tea however, smelled really nice and had a rich flavor to it. I recommend it! For the prices, there are much better places around for specialty drinks in my opinion, but if you're looking specifically for authentic tea taste, this place is it. read more

They also clearly used real passionfruit, which added a refreshing tartness to the drink.
