This is not authentic Korean style spicy marinated crab. As a Korean, I was severely disappointed by everything here. We got the spicy marinated crab and the jjamppong. The spicy marinated crab had an overwhelming amount of ginger to the point where some bites all I could taste was ginger. Spicy marinated crab is supposed to be sweet and spicy, and this felt like I was eating grated ginger with chili flakes. I couldn't even taste the crab because of how bad it was. The jjamppong also was extremely disappointing. Anyone who has had good jjamppong knows that noodle texture is key for a dish like this. The noodles were so thick and overcooked and the broth was watery compared to how it should be. Overall, I would not recommend this place if you're craving traditional dishes. Maybe they prefer to serve these dishes the way they did, but if you eat here expecting the original taste, you won't get it. read more

This place is a must-try. I don't do that well with spice but I didn't care--the food is that good. Spicy raw crab: first time ever having this dish. They provide gloves so it's not as messy! The marination is full of flavor. I powered through the spice. My partner (better spice tolerance) loved this dish. The waitress recommended to eat it with jajangmyeon to cancel out the spice. I will definitely do this next time, since I finished my entire water bottle as well as the tea they provided Seafood jjampong: not as spicy as the crab but just as good. My to-go place for jjampong and spicy marinated crab! Came here Friday for lunch at ~12:30 pm. Aside from the three other tables of people, the place wasn't packed so we got seated immediately. Normally, with only two large tables and ~8-10 smaller tables, this place ends up filled with a waitlist outside. Parking was tricky as there was street cleaning near the residential on Fridays 12-2pm, and others on Tuesday. Street parking is available on the main street though. What we got: - Black Bean Noodles (jjajangmein)~ Sweetened from the onions, the sauce coats the noodles very well with a savory and slightly sweet flavor. We devoured this bowl before we even got our hands on the jjamppong! - Seafood Jjamppong with lower spice ~ Normally this dish is slightly on the spicier side for me, but to accommodate my friend, I requested less spice. Milder in spice, the broth was very savory and deep in flavor. The table was served with tea, pickled radish, and cabbage kimchi. Note: the normal spice jjamppong is spicier than the cabbage kimchi provided on the table. If you cannot handle the kimchi on the table. the jjampong may be too spicy. We were hungry and wanted to try a variety, so we decided on 3 dishes even though 1 dish would be enough for 2. ***OUR PICKS*** DOUBLE FRIED CHICKEN WINGS 3 flavors to choose from: Garlic sauce Salt and pepper Honey chili sauce We chose garlic sauce. There was a hint of sweetness, but still savory and smothered in garlic goodness! Can't say it was crispy after they put the sauce on it, but it was still very good. Came here for my birthday and had no ragrets! Korean/chinese comfort food, great for any sized group. The jajangmyeon is better here than most other locations and don't forget to try their marinated raw crab (comes with gloves, rice, and seaweed). The crispy beef dish was also rlly yummy and stood out. ALSO the double fried chicken wings are pretty good. We went there with 4 friends and we had 7 people in total. They were able to seat us right away. They had been so busy usually there will be a wait for a bigger party. The food - Recommended Potstickers - these dumplings have nothing to stick to because they're deep fried. No complaints here though - wrapper texture is excellent Recommended with reservations - Spicy Crab - raw crab in ground red pepper and green onions on a bed of spinach, served with furikake rice and roasted seaweed. Flavor is there, but I thought it was unnecessarily spicy. I like a decent amount of spice, but I could only handle two of these before throwing in the towel. Chicken Fried Rice - decent flavor, but the rice is on the soft side and missing wok hay. Chinese Broccoli - same issues as the fried rice. Softer, no wok hay. Double Fried Chicken Wings - crispy, but slightly softened due to the sauce and bell peppers. Eat 'em while they're hot! Banchan - they give some complimentary kimchi and pickled turnip. It's a bit of a sad showing, but I'll give them a pass since it's Korean + Chinese Not recommended - Seafood Jjamppong - mainly noodles and veggies with a little seafood. Problem for me again was the spice level. They don't even ask, they just give it to you super spicy. The other issue I had was I just got heat and not much seafood flavor. Used to very flavorful broths at most Korean tofu shops. I was not as enamored with the food as most reviewers. There was a lot of marinate and veggies compared to the amount of actual crab that we took home. These crabs however were SPICY. not for the weak. The complimentary seaweed packet was nice and the rice came seasoned which we love. Also the ice water was super cold which is usually not something you are itching to find in Yelp reviews but with the type of heavy food here, this ICE water is a blessing lemme say. We got the jjampong and the spicy marinated crab. The spicy crab was really spicy, but they gave a lot of bodies. Had to do it hand roll style! The sauce was really good, though i would prefer the non-spicy. I'd say it's the best I've had in the Bay Area. There aren't that many and don't give that many bodies. I love jjamppong. They gave a lot of fresh seafood and it was big bowl for two to share. However, I was a bit underwhelmed with this one. It had more of a clam juice taste, and the noodles were not as satisfying. This place makes amazing raw marinated crab and noodles! The raw marinated crab is spicy and you squeeze out the meat with your hands. They give you gloves to do this which is great because it would be so messy otherwise. It's served with seaweed and rice which go so well with the crab. I also really enjoyed the jjangmyeon (black bean noodles) and jjampong (spicy seafood noodle with soup). The same noodles are used in both dishes and they're nice and chewy. I've known about this spot for quite some time but haven't had the change to visit until recently. I came here for dinner on two separate occasions, once with my best friends and again with my mom and boyfriend. Both times I left with a full tummy and super satisfied with our meal! They're a Korean-Chinese restaurant so there are options for everyone! The restaurant is a little smaller and tables fill up fast but I think the turnaround isn't too bad. Both times we arrived around 6:30 to 7 and didn't have to wait. The restaurant is clean and the staff are very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The main reason for my visit the first time around was to try the raw marinated crab which has quite a kick to it and perfect to pair with the seaweed and rice that it comes with. The crab was flavorful and had tons of garlic. Personally, I'm not sure if raw marinated crab is my thing yet because of the texture but will definitely give it another try next time. Also, really appreciated the gloves! I know it's such a minor detail and it's common in Korea to provide but you don't always see that available in the bay. The seafood jjamppong & jajang mein were so flavorful and the noodles have a nice springy texture. I can't decide which I like more because they're both so dang good. If it means anything, my mom said the seafood jjamppong here is much better than the other spots we've been to! It had plenty of fresh seafood and veggies. Lastly, the double fried chicken wings with garlic sauce! For the price and the portion, I felt this was pretty worth it. It was flavorful with garlic, green onions and peppers. Definitely plenty to share for a group of 3 or 4 people. For any leftovers, the staff packed our food for us and used a machine to seal the jajang mein which is nice and helps prevent the sauce from leaking everywhere. Somewhere between a 4 and 5, but I'll round up! The star is the spicy raw crab! It has a great flavor, but the raw texture just wasn't for me. It's fun to make it in a little seaweed taco. The fried chicken was OK in terms of crispy (I still prefer San Tung) and the noodles were chewy but the sauce was on the sweet side. Portions were generous as we had a ton of leftovers for 2 of us. (I saved the spicy sauce and veggies from the crab and made it into a Korean egg scramble the next day!) Overall a unique menu and I'd like to come back and try more items on their menu. I've had this place bookmarked for months now and finally decided to try it on Saturday when I was craving black bean noodles. It was quiet and the inside of the restaurant reminded me of Chinese restaurants that I grew up eating at so it felt homey. I tried their kimchi, which is arguably one of the best kimchi sides I've had from a restaurant in a long time so I had a good feeling about the noodles.
