I'm just trying to get a hot chocolate and the service is vey nice it's just the hot chocolate tastes like hot water put with a little coffee powder and a drop of dog shit I put 3 packs of sugar and I still can't taste anything I asked them to add more chocolate and it still taste like shit the service is nice but If you like the taste of stuff don't go (the coffee is fine at best but still bad)

Joe Coffee Company in Grand Central Terminal is very convenient. It's usually busy but at this location I found the line moves quickly. They realize people have to catch their train! I enjoy a good cup of Joe and the pastries are varied and delicious. I'm recommending you try this location if you're nearby......

My expectations were low for this Grand Central coffee shop. However, I was blown away by one of the best coffees I've had in Manhattan thus far. grabbed a coffee omw to work, I hadnt had my coffee yet so almost anything could've done. this definitely didn't help, ordered "the largest you have for a mocha" and was given the coldest hot latte I've ever had. room temp at best, which was a devastating blow on top of it being smaller than most smalls. for six dollars it was an Absolute joke, which is understandable considering half the staff wasn't doing anything besides talking to their friends in the corner. if you need coffee, it's worth your efforts to go to any other spot or leave grand central altogether and get a coffee anywhere else.

Very appealing selection of perhaps healthier,definitely less processed treats . Nice selection of drinks and the guys behind the counter were polite and looked happy to be there ! A smile here costs only $3.60. Trust me, it's a good deal. I asked the cute barista for a recommendation, so she made me a small iced mocha ($3.60; cash only). The drink had a rich chocolatey finish that woke me up; I left a tip, and left with a smile. Find this happy coffee shop in the Grand Central terminal.

Came by the other day to get a small mocha for $4. This place is cash only. Their small espresso beverages are merely 8 oz. Perfect in my book! The espresso was smooth and the mocha wasn't too sweet, similar to Blue Bottle Coffee. Convenient location inside Grand Central Station too!

A very impressive coffee spot inside of Grand Central Terminal. Their fresh brew coffee aroma is hard to resist. Needless to say, there is almost always a line here especially in the morning! There are no seatings and it is meant to be a grab and go spot. When trying any new coffee spot, cappuccino is how they can make their first impression on me. I say so for sure, it's pretty good here. Well-balanced amount of milk and coffee. Not to mention, neat latte art puts a smile on my face. Get it! Cold Brew is respectable. Excellent drip coffee here. Bold taste and refreshing. A huge selection variety of coffee beans from different parts of the world if you would like to bring some home as well. Overall, a solid coffee shop for the morning or for the afternoon.

I came here today after a fail trip to the Apple store. The people at this place are simply the friendliest people around. They helped pick up my less than ideal day. I got a warm apple cider which they say is a seasonal item. It was quite honestly delicious. The place itself is a bit difficult to find in the maze that is Grand Central. There aren't any seats either but it's perfect to get something on the go or to warm you up on your way out into the cold. I would definitely recommend this place to others and am coming back for sure.

Starting today, Joe has added a Joe Kart just a few steps away (closer to the GNC store) to reduce the extended lines during the morning rush. The new cart will be serving their House Blend and Single Origin coffees. Specialty drinks will still have to be ordered inside Joe's. Along with coffee, there are also a small selection of pastries being served. Excellent idea!

This is inside of Grand Central station,so there is always a line but the three to five minute wait is worth it for the wonderful fresh brewed coffee and there's also a range of pastries and baked goods,Ginger donut is a favorite of mine. read more

Follow these directions very carefully... when in grand central, walk right past the two starbucks locations and find Joes. This is what coffee is supposed to taste like! I order a cappucino almost every day before work.. it is heaven in a cup. They also have great chai if you are into that. It's cash only so make sure you have some, and grab a frequent buyer punch card because after 10, you get the 11th free. (It's scary how quickly this happens). I don't give out 5 stars loosely... but Joes you earned it. read more

It was a cold winter afternoon in Copenhagen, when my friend took me, then a very poor student, to the once hip cafe "Sebastopol", and bought me what turned out to be my first and greatest Americano. Never should I have a cup of coffee this great... Not until I came across "Joe". All of them are great, but the one in Grand Central, is where I've had some particularly awesome americanos, not to mention their regular coffee. Here, they know their S... . This place is tiny, but they know their stuff. Coffee or tea. That's it. With a few snacks as well. I came here because my wife wanted some decaf coffee. I pack of ground coffee will run you about $15.00. My wife loves it. She said it is noticeably different. I will have to stop by and get me some. read more

In just 6 days I've had about 11 cups of coffee--lattes, cappuccinos, iced lattes, and brewed coffees--from this location. Solid overall but have gotten a few watery pulls. Expensive and cash-only because of where it's located, but dang, something keeps me coming back. The pastries are great, too. read more

The best coffee I've had in Manhattan. A serious contender in my overall favorites coffee, but it definitely has it's letdowns. On the good side, they brew on a smaller la marzocco, a great machine. They have great beans and use Intelligentsia chai, which is really tasty. On the meh side they call a double shot 2 shots, which to me is kind of weird(I want 2 shots in my latte, no not one double shot, 2 shots). On the a little more than meh side they are slow as hell, probably due to the smaller machine and cramped space. They rarely steam the milk properly, with bellowing bubbles in the milk. The hearts and rosettas will have to wait. read more

This is the place I go for coffee when I am in Grand Central. I don't know why they don't accept credit cards...that is annoying. But they do have good coffee. There is no where to sit there though....it's just togo only. read more

Great shot of espresso. Almost all crema, pretty close to being as good as it smells (the Holy Grail of coffee). Surprising acidity, compared to the Lavazza I drink at work. This coffee needs to approached like wine - tease apart the flavor components and revel in the complexity. read more

For take out coffee I love it. In the summer I walk past 10 coffee places on my day off for their iced coffee. The only word is YUMMY. I t has a hint of chocolate flavor. Its like having a treat with no sugar or guilt. Once in awhile its not the perfect batch. But I keep going back because usually its that cool on a hot NYC summer day. read more

This is the reason I like to come to Grand Central! Their tiny space has no seats and not much ambiance, but this is far better coffee than anything else at Grand Central. They make a great latte with espresso that has a light, slight citrus flavor to it. Their biscotti are extremely thin and amazing -- I almost always get one with an iced latte. They carry doughnuts from Doughnut Plant -- by far the best donuts anywhere, in the world, ever, since the beginning of time, hands down. If you're lucky they'll have a couple flavors of doughnuts left, like strawberry or orange. read more

It's easy enough to pass by this mini-coffee-shop without a second thought, but it really is spectacular. They've figured out the perfect balance between quality and speedy service, and they have some of the friendliest baristas in town. They get their pastries and donuts from a few great places around town (Doughnut Plant, Ovenly in Brooklyn, and others), and while it's not cheap (also: cash only), it's worth it. Expect a line out the door, but it moves surprisingly fast. read more

The espresso is really good. The latte, if that's your drink-on, features milk at a drinking temperature that maximizes the espresso flavor. The baked goods remain a shade of Dorian gray and the servers are a gaggle of hipsters from Ohio and Ohio pretending that they are the offspring of Lou Reid and Andy Warhol. In other words, the severs are graphic designers and former bike messengers making really good coffee until something really really really cool lifts then goes up. It's good to know your ambience. read more

Absolutely perfect latte on Sunday, as I was rushing on my way back to Canada. I had a to ask a few folks to find it in the semi-labrynth of Grand Central. It was worth the exploration! Coffee culture, with all those fabulous hole-in-the-wall little cafes and OCD baristas is alive and well in NY - but I didn't expect to find a gem like Joe's in Grand Central. The baristas were almost grimly devoted to their craft, and danced around eachother behind that tiny counter with such quiet efficiency, all the while turning out beautifully drawn espressos, macchiatos etc. read more

There are a few locations, but I decided to visit this one because it was the most convenient for getting to and from home. I got there around 7:00 PM, which felt a little close to closing time since Google said they close at 9:00 PM, but it wasn't busy at all. In fact, I was only the third customer to place an order. I ordered the La Summer sandwich and added pesto. After sitting down and taking my first bite, I immediately understood the hype. Without a doubt, this is one of the best sandwiches I've had in a very long time. I'm not even a huge sandwich person when it comes to subs and deli meats, but everything tasted incredibly fresh. The ingredients paired together perfectly, and you could still taste each one individually. The only thing I'd change next time is the meat. I had no idea prosciutto was a type of ham, but honestly, it didn't even taste like ham to me. It was sliced paper-thin, slightly salty, and worked surprisingly well with everything else. Next time, though, I'll probably add salami just to see how it compares. Overall, this sandwich was a solid 10/10, and I will absolutely be back--whether it's to try a different sandwich or, if we're being honest, order the exact same one again with salami added. I will say it's on the expensive side, but that's New York City for you. Apparently, all of the ingredients are flown in from Italy. After tax and tip, I paid a whopping $28 for a single sandwich. That said, it was incredibly filling and definitely kept me satisfied. The workers were also really nice and accommodating, and the indoor seating was beautiful. The atmosphere felt like a fancy Italian café, complete with couches and artwork throughout the space. I wish I had taken pictures, but honestly, I was too busy enjoying what might be the best sandwich I've had in years.

Be PREPARED this Sammie has some chili honey liquid /oil sauce they put on it and it's tasty but it's a lot. The staff are friendly - just focused on getting your order and getting it to you so you can enjoy. The wall is pretty interested they have made their own decor out of door panel fixtures.

Like how can you be this understaffed for a location like this. Getting someone to ask about your order was nearly impossible. Honestly, I feel bad for the staff working there since this is nyc and you deal with crazies, so one guy who waited 15 minutes getting heated I debated just finishing my sandwich at home because I didn't want to witness craziness Ok-actual sandwich was beyond a disappointment. They got it wrong and to get it fixed would have taken another hour that I didn't have. The bread was stale and cold and hard, there was veryy little meat. After being in a car and on a flight and in another car all morning, we weren't mad about the standing part. We were all able to share and sample each sandwich, and honestly, we were not disappointed. We were all full and happy when we weren't finished, so what more could we want for a relatively quick NYC meal? Being under the plaza, the restrooms were outside the shop but very close by so we were able to wash hands and such before journeying out into the wild. I would definitely stop back by again on another trip! The guys and I all gave Alidoro's two thumbs up - so 8 thumbs total, if you're counting.

As others have commented, a CASH ONLY BUSINESS COULD AT LEAST POST SIGNS STATING SO! You really shouldn't find out it's cash only after waiting in line, that's not service, that's annoying. My co-worker mentioned loving the coffee, so I was going to try a cup and get him a $60 gift card. First I noticed that the gift card noted that YOU SHOULD TIP THEM....really, I'm going to give someone a gift card that says little on it but Joe's and tip the staff??? My first clue that these bohemian wanna be's and whoever runs this business are obnoxious. Once told that it's cash only, I inquired where the nearest ATM was because at this point I've already waited on line and only have $20 on me, there isn't a quick/easy answer. Coffee, gift cards, just shouldn't be this difficult. My husband owns a retail store, and in this day and age, people just don't carry cash. Yes, as a merchant, you have to pay a fee to the credit card co's, but that's the price of doing biz and you price your services/merchandise accordingly. In Manhattan, especially in the GCT area you can easily make up the measly 2 to 3% credit card processing fees. Sale lost to obnoxious Joe's and gained to the wine shop down the hall, got him a nice pino instead. read more

Excellent espresso! THE ESPRESSO: Very nice crema. A little bright which some people might not like but I enjoy a little fruitiness. Great texture. Just right! THE BARISTAS: Not rude! For some reason it seems that to pull a good espresso shot you need to also be snotty and rude and avoid eye contact or interesting conversation with your customers. Briefly connecting with another human being while working in a service industry?? Yuck. This is not the case at Joe! Everyone was super friendly and I was offered a regular OR sparkling water with my espresso...I even saw a hint of a smile at one point! LOCATION: Pretty convenient in Grand Central. I wish it was a little bigger so that I can drink my espresso without blocking other people from getting sugar but you can't really change that...maybe Metro North could be convinced to put in some seating in front but the application process would probably take longer than building a subway down Second Avenue. read more

Joe needs some help with consistency between their cafes. Americano was really bad, over extracted, watery and bitter, crema was white! Almond croissant was tiny and flavorless. Have had great coffee from their 13th St and UWS spots, will not go to this one again. Shack Shack has Stumptown drip in grand central, will try that from now on. read more
