There's just something special about a breakfast that feels like a warm hug and a trip back in time all at once. Stopped by Johnny's Angel and went straight for my forever favorite, the Fats Domino omelet. Packed with sausage, potato, bacon and melty cheese, it's hearty, comforting and absolutely loaded with flavor. Paired with creamy cheesy grits and classic white toast, this plate hits every nostalgic breakfast note. Service was friendly and quick, and the retro diner vibes never miss. Chrome, color and old-school charm everywhere you look. It really does feel like stepping into a time machine to when breakfast spots were the heart of the neighborhood. If you're craving a true diner breakfast done right, Johnny's Angel needs to be on your Jacksonville list. Have you been yet or is this going on your must-try list

The food was absolutely delicious. That atmosphere was great. The noise level wasn't too loud.

Love, love, love!!! Will definitely be back. Johnny Angels is so nostalgic and the food/customers/vibe is EVERYTHING that you just think it would be. There were just 2 people, day date with my husband, so we got sat instantly at the bar. Groups of 4/5 were pretty common and they had maybe a 20 min wait. I got a Ruben with fries and side of ranch. It was toasted to perfection! Not nothing overpowered each other. Not overly sauced, just pure deliciousness. And that RANCH, phew... it was heavenly. My husband got the pancake and egg breakfast with sausage and a side of home fries. The pancakes were slightly sweet and fluffy and just YUM! But let's talk about their sausage.... I'm not that big on restaurant sausage as most are pre made or frozen, but dang... I wish I could buy their sausage in bulk for real. I think the patties are made in house to be honest. They were cooked to perfection and juicy. The whole staff just worked well together and almost like they really LOVED their job. They flowed around each other with no problem and it's a small space. I will definitely be back and I most definitely encourage you to go if you haven't been. This will be in my list for bringing out of town guests to when they stop in.

My daughter took me here as a treat for brunch. I had not heard of it before and was so pleased by it. It doesn't look like much outside, just located in a strip mall, but wait until you walk in the door! It's super kitschy with the whole 1950s vibe. Really made me smile when I first saw it. The waitress was lovely and personable. We arrived at that sweet brunch time immediately between breakfast and lunch, where there was a slight lull before the next wave of customers. Nevertheless, even as it continued to get busier and busier, we were always treated well and the waitress was very efficient. My Popeye's omelette was perfect, with tons of spinach, Swiss cheese, and crispy bacon! The egg was cooked well, not dry, and not a bit of brown. The biscuit and potatoes were very good. My daughter had the Salem's Benedict. I had a bite and it was perfection. So were the grits. We still ended up taking some leftovers home because the portion sizes were great! She wanted us to have milkshakes too, but we were too full and had too many errands to run. I do hope to come back here (with my husband) and try those milkshakes!

Food was Fantastic! I ordered the La bamba (You have to try it) Coffee nice and fresh! Ambiance is on another level! Old school 60's themed. Old movie posters and photos on the wall makes for a great conversation piece. Service was Terrific. We got some recommendations to try the burger on our next visit. We will be back!

Angel's Diner is such a fun spot for breakfast or lunch! The 50s-style decor is absolutely adorable and gives it so much charm. Our server was a total delight and made the experience even better. I got the bacon, egg, and cheese in a pita with home fries, and the portions were massive--definitely come hungry! I'm already looking forward to coming back to try something from the sweet side of the breakfast menu as well as lunch.

If you want to feel like you've stepped straight into the 1950s while still in 2025 Jacksonville, this is the spot to visit. The restaurant is packed with retro memorabilia, and the waitresses bring the nostalgic vibe to life right down to serving classic root beer floats. The food is just as impressive: I tried the Captain Crunch French toast topped with strawberries, bananas, whipped cream, and graham cracker crumblesabsolutely delicious. A fun, unique experience all around!

I've been in a few times when visiting friends. Always good food and service! The portions are generous for the price! I got a custom omelet and my friend got French toast and said no meat so the waitress asked if I wanted it since wed get charged... um yes! Love the decor and the juke box!

Fathers day weeknd! Happy Fathers day to all the Yelp dads! I carouled my grands and son to a Fathers day breakfast/brunch. One son was missing. Johnny Angel missed the mark on several accounts. Mimosas were on point and huge, unlike flutes the mimosas come in. Silver dollar pancakes were out for the kiddos and were devoured. There were only 3 pancakes though on the plate. The La Bamba Omelette and Belgium Waffle with scrambled eggs came later. I asked the waitress to bring coloring books and crayons. All in all , Johnny Angels had a nice vibe. The La Bamba omelette had a nice flavor. However, the cheese sat on the omelette for minutes. The plates were sized well. Wifey and I will definetly visit in the near future

The food is amazing. The service is top tier. The ambiance is like living back in the old good days. Definitely worth the money what I get to eat.

The Restaurant is located in a strip mall tucked back from St John's Bluff. Plenty of parking. As you walk up to the restaurant your not expecting what's inside because the outside of the restaurant is modern looking, but as you walk in you're transported back in time with the checker board counter, the memorabilia hanging on the walls and even the booths had the 50s vibe. A TV in the back we were sitting close to was playing a Doris Day movie. Really cool concept. We were greeted by a bubbly server promptly. The menu items are names appropriately. I ordered the Elvis Special and wanted to try something unique and different from the standard breakfast. It didn't disappoint. Everything was cooked perfectly. We will definitely be back! The Burger is next!

Even though we had a reservation, it didn't seem to make a difference. We waited about 15 minutes just to find a host or hostess to be seated. During that time, we saw several other groups leave because no one was available to greet or seat them. It wasn't the best first impression and definitely set the tone for the visit. Once we were seated, the food was excellent. You can really tell that everything is made from scratch, and the quality and freshness stood out. The Garlic Parmesan Brussels Sprouts, topped with garlic aioli and Parmesan cheese, were delicious and packed with flavor. I also ordered the Kale Caesar Salad with grilled chicken, which was fresh and well-balanced with house greens, Parmesan cheese, and Caesar vinaigrette. My little ones ordered the Crispy Southern Fried Chicken Fingers with fries, and they both really enjoyed their meals. Overall, the food was definitely the highlight of our visit, but the service and lack of organization upon arrival could use improvement. If they can address the front-of-house experience, it would make for a much better visit.

We've been here once before. We really liked it but it's been a while since then. We started with the Pao de Queijo, which is the cheesy bread you usually get at a Brazilian steakhouse. We both love this kind of bread and theirs was fantastic. I ordered the Pinanha Rustica and I am so happy that's what I settled on. I ordered the beef medium rare and it was cooked perfectly. The Chimichurri sauce was good but honestly, the beef didn't need the help. The thing that surprised me the most was how much I loved the Biro-Biro Rice as a side. It was a really unique combo of things I've never had together before. I would probably go back and order an entree of just that if they offer it! My wife ordered the Costela Ao Molha Madeira Com Risotto de Parmesao. She really liked how the risotto was super cheesy. She said it actually reminded her of the cheesy bread. The beef short rib was very tender and juicy. She said it was a simple dish that added up to something special. We rarely order dessert but decided to split the Petit Gateau de Doce de Leite. It was so rich, dense and delicious. The pecan ice cream with it was great as well. It was small but enough for us to split. I'm bummed I forgot to get our servers name because he was fantastic. Let's get into the highlights: some of the freshest table side guacamole I've ever had. Made right in front of you and you get a ton for what you pay for. My lunch portion of my Yucatán Quesadilla was only $9.99 as it was a Friday and it was just okay. Unfortunately, I did have to cut it myself. The "small" margarita for $12.99 is absolutely gigantic. In fact, every drink I saw come out was of ginormous proportion and seems to be the main draw here. Unfortunately, I was a bit let down by both the salsa, as even though there was a full bar, none of the options were all that tasty. The biggest detractor was honestly the service. Our server was extremely nice on the surface, but every opportunity was used to upsell by every member of the staff. A bigger drink, another appetizer, another drink, handing us their card and asking for a review following paying. I normally never have issue with this but it became overwhelming at a certain point. This restaurant absolutely feels like it has potential, but might suffocate over its mistakes in an extremely crowded Town Center/Southside Market.
