$20 Greek salad. It is hearty salad with a ton of vegis underneath. Flavor is good. Reason for my average rating is the lettuce to protein ratio. They use head lettuce which isn't the best type of lettuce for a salad. Not sure if I would come back to have this salad again, but I would try another menu item.

Not sure why we waited so long to try this place... much closer than Fantastics... awesome Chx fried steak hash browns sausage eggs and pancakes.... No pressure from the cashiers to take out a 2nd mortgage to give a tip... still tipped tho... they are awesome... a lot of seating and this place gets busy pretty fast... this will be our new breakfast spot...

Always a great place to quick, big portion and menu options. I took down this full orders of ham steak, special potatoes, sourdough toast and three eggs. Lots of seating inside, but no patio. Services, always made sure our coffee is full.

Raw fries see through limp and raw potato inside

Got two combos and was super disappointed with the fries they were barely fried at all and almost no seasoning. They were so raw when you bit them it had the raw potato texture inside they were limp too. Also we ordered onion rings which were actually pretty good but they didnt give atleast one ranch with it. The burger was mediocre basic burger you'd expect from these type of places but the meat did taste cheap and old.

Ok, fine, another review. ;) The Food: It's short order goodness, all your Americana and Mexicana standards - made to order and ready to eat in or take out. The Service: Always good! They're on top of everything, from the order to the exit, and they're always friendly. The Ambiance: Clean, with plenty of seating. They have a drink machine readily accessible and all of your condiments at each table. It's a fam favorite, particularly at breakfast time, but they always come in clutch when sports or scouts impacts dinner time. We'll be there, and we hope to see you as well. :)

We had a good experience at John's. Grilled chicken sandwich and sourdough bacon cheeseburger combo made fresh to order with good portions. Flavors on point and service friendly. Read on Yelp about cleanliness and we didn't experience any of those things mentioned. Hopefully are visits continue to go that way.

Up one walking in got ignored ,asked if we seat ourselves and it's order first ,however I was not even directed were the Menus are put. So far bad experience I'll update in a few minutes. We ordered the chicken enchiladas 1/2 steak ham with scrambled eggs and caramel frappe. We go no utensils. No jelly for my sourdough. This is just not making my morning

I've been here a few times and the food is always tasty, the people are always friendly and helpful, and it's always quick. They have a kids menu, but you need to ask to see it, it's not up on the wall with the regular menu.

I placed a phone order the lady told me to the food would be ready between 10 - 15 minutes. I work across the street. I did not last more than the time they gave me. I received my fries and they tasted stale and hard as if they just sat there. I called to speak to the supervisor and he was rude once I went back for my money. He asked me for the food and the thousand islands why would I bring back food that was one nasty and two I threw away in the trash. He was talking to me very rude for a "supervisor " you need to represent and in front of the customers how rude and sarcastic he was being. Also wanted to give me back less money than what I paid for he was easily charging for thousand islands. I would not recommend that place to my co workers or family. So unprofessional he could've easily just apologized and made my experience there better than what it was and yet he continued to argue and harass me about the food and why I didn't take it back when he didn't even ask me through the phone to take it back. I will not let anyone down talk to me like he did in a condescending sarcastic way very rude

Prices are ridiculous!!! Johns tried to charge me $25 bucks for this exact same combo I got at Volcano Burger for $18 bucks!!

I have eaten at John's for years. Everything on the menu is delicious. My two favorites are the fried zucchini (too die for) and the southwest chicken salad. While those are my two go to favs, everything on the menu is great. Love the soda machine. Great service too! read more

I've been getting the BLT and club sandwiches for nearly 10 years. Thick buttered toast, fresh veggies, and generous helpings of meat make this my go-to American sandwich stop. I believe the club comes with fries, while the BLT does not. My mom is pretty upset that they got rid of the potato salad, but we have no complaints otherwise. read more

My go to breakfast and lunch and sometimes dinner spot lol. Prices are reasonable. Usually here twice a week for breakfast. Go for any of the omlettes or waffle combo. Burgers are my go to for lunch with well done fries. Staff is super friendly and is always checking up on you and offering drink refills while your seated. All around great place. Tip - avoid sundays from 10:30am to 12pm. Super busy with after church crowd. No parking no tables at that time read more

Nothing fancy to look at, but the food was EXCELLENT as was the customer service. The prices were very reasonable & the place was sparkling clean. My husband had the San Francisco burger & I had the harvest salad. Both were delicious. Looking forward to coming back & trying different things from their extensive menu. So my mother and I decided to eat here after a long day of work and get a burger. The cashier was very very rude and got my order wrong twice. At one point she started talking back to me and I definitely don't have time so I had some of my order refunded and left will never be back which sucks because they got great breakfast burritos. read more

I like the food. It's basic diner food. I have a problem with the attitude of the staff. I have had several problems with my orders over the past year. When I receive the wrong food or their is a small issue, the staff wants to debate the point and give me the feeling that they are doing me a favor by allowing to spend my money there. This past Saturday it happened again. And the owner was standing right next to me. I choose not to spend my my money at Johns average poor attitudes diner of Mediocrity. read more

My family went to John's the other night, we've been waiting for them to open since the remodel. When we walked in we were very shocked to see the set up of the place. they had taken almost all the booths away, and put in a lot of high tables and chairs in that we will never sit at.And it very noisy in there. the family has been going there since they opened it's not cozy anymore. They had added a lot of new stuff to the menu but we just had a cheeseburger, that was so dry that it was hard to eat. We won't be going there anymore read more

Will NEVER go here again. Ordered our food and went to pay. They charge $1.50 to use your ATM card! Oh, by the way, they ONLY take cash or ATM. No credit card at all. So we swipe our ATM card. The little machine is basically like an ATM machine she says we have to pick an amount either $10, $20, $30, etc. Since our total was $15 something she said do $20 and I will give you the change. So we did and theres no dial tone! We tell her. She says try again. And again same message No dial tone pops up. She goes to the back to check and she comes back and says "he's on the phone right now he will be off soon.". Are you kidding me?? By this time we have spent over 5 minutes dealing with just paying for the meal. We then tell them to forget it and we walk out! I have never seen any place use that sort of machine! read more

Should of followed my first mind and went somewhere else! I ate at this place maybe 3 years ago and the food was good maybe they changed owners because now my food was extremely disgusting my burger didn't taste fresh and my mozzarella cheese sticks were pretty much bread no cheese in the inside! Omg I will never come back here! I'm mad I wasted 9 dollars on a meal and it wasn't what I expected and wanted! read more

Have been a lover of John's for years. Went today with my family to check it out after the remodel and am sorry to say we won't be returning. Environment is now cold and sterile feeling. Gone are the comfy booths that my grandma could enjoy and larger booths my extended family could sit in while catching up and enjoying a meal together. It seems as though they actually lost seating since the entire center area of booths has been removed and replaced with high top chairs and tables. I'm sure there food is still great but we went there because of the atmosphere too. We ended up at Kimmys for breakfast instead so we can be in a warm family atmosphere. Sorry John's. read more

The waitress was very nice and frequently checked up on us if we needed anything. However, she got my order wrong. I ordered a regular hot dog and garlic fries. I didn't get the fries and the hot dog was a chili cheese dog. It would have been fine, but I'm not a big fan of chili. My dad's fries and burger were alright, nothing special. read more

I use to always come here before school to have breakfast. Their breakfast is alright, but then I began to discover other places and realized there are even better places. Their food a little greasy, which is why I stopped going. If grease doesn't bother you too much, try this spot you just might like it! read more

John's has been a cornerstone in the City of Cypress for years and their food is pretty good too but so overpriced! They remodeled this location about a year ago and I believe that is why the prices are high. I could eat at Chili's or El Torito for the prices that they offer. read more

The spot gets crowed here.this place getz packed by church goers. so gett it in early.the service is excellent. The waitress always check on u even wen is so packed . We have ate here a couple of times and everything has been A-OK. Yesterday we had salads and we really thought they were pretty good for a hamburger type place. I ordered a cobb. It had plenty of egg, bacon, blue cheese and mixed greens..oh and some turkey too. The Chef salad had lots of cheese, ham and turkey, egg, olives and cucumber ....both the salads were enjoyable. My son ordered a burger combo and gobbled it down without any complaints. Service is very friendly and our food came out very quickly. I would give it a good strong three...A-OK. read more

Came in for a late breakfast on Saturday June 11th. My son was in the mood for pancakes and I wanted a really good Breakfast burrito. John's did not disappoint. The food was delicious and plentiful. The pancakes were fluffy, the eggs were tasty and the bacon was perfect. My sausage burrito was one of the better breakfast burritos I've had in quite a while. The employees were friendly and extremely attentive. I was extremely pleased. We will definitely come back very soon. read more

This place is pretty damn good! Their pita melt w/bacon is oh so yummy.. Pancakes are ok if you like gritty.. Don't get me wrong.. They had a good flavor but for a buttermilk pancake it shouldn't taste like cornbread hence the gritty. The Nachos w/carne asada and the Irish Nachos w/carne asada are both great.. I highly recommend. Shoe string fries crispy and are my favorite.. Good place to sit, enjoy some good food and catch a game or two.. read more

We came in here at around 11:30ish and it wasn't too crowded. As we were waiting in line there was a screen that displayed some of their dishes such as their "747" burger and mozzarella sticks. Our food came out at a reasonable time. Food was decent and very filling. read more

I have moved this up to 3 stars solely because the response to my feed back was well received and that alone speaks highly of making an attempt to help their restaurant to be better. The goal is not to just criticize or review for the sake of reviewing but to actually help businesses and which comes full circle both for customers and business owners. Thanks to the reply I may give it another shot for the burgers if I am in the area and in hungry!

One thing I really appreciate is that I can call ahead and have my order ready when I arrive. It's a huge time-saver, especially on busy mornings or lunch breaks. Friendly service, great food, fair prices, and convenient call-ahead ordering keep me coming back. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Minus one star because I have gotten a chili dog on 3 separate occasions where the hot dog tasted like it had been sitting around for a very long time - leathery and dry, though the bun and chili were still tasty. Also, after a long road trip my kids came to town and I raved about how good the food is. We went there, starving, only to get stale fries and onion rings. We were too hungry to mention it and request a fresh order.

The curry was incredible . Normally you get the store bought curry at restaurants but this actually tasted homemade. The katsu itself was very crispy and seasoned perfectly. We also got an order of garlic edamame.. TO DIE FOR, and an order of the cucumber salad.. perfect . Oh and don't forget the miso soup... BEST miso soup we've had in a very long time. There was also standing water on the floor with no wet floor signs, barriers, or any warnings whatsoever. This was a clear slip-and-fall hazard in a busy restaurant. I calmly brought it to the attention of the manager on duty, Julie, and pointed out how dangerous it was--especially for guests using wheelchairs or with mobility needs, this was particularly concerning. Instead of addressing the problem, she dismissed it as "not a big deal," refused to complete any incident report, gave me a negative attitude with a mean facial expression, and then called security on me as if I was the problem. When the young security guard arrived, he asked for my ID. I politely refused and explained the situation calmly--he looked surprised but not defensive. I have photos documenting the ceiling leak, standing water, and lack of signage. This experience was disappointing and unsafe, especially from a hotel restaurant attached to a family theme park. Management should prioritize fixing hazards and training staff to handle legitimate guest concerns professionally rather than escalating them. I hope Knott's / Six Flags investigates and improves. This was my first time coming to this restaurant.

The patties were a little salty, but upon reading the other reviews, I see that the owner pre-marinates the patty meat. The prices were also steep for just the burger, and I thought my order would come with fries on the side, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the food. All in all, I would return for future orders and would love to see them open a brick-and-mortar restaurant someday, ideally in Garden Grove still. 10/10 rating and five stars all around for a seamless ordering experience, delicious food, and timeless customer service.

The Shrimp Fried Rice was a solid side dish that complemented everything else we ordered. The rice had a nice wok flavor, wasn't greasy, and came with a generous amount of shrimp. A surprising must order was the Cucumber Salad which was light, refreshing, and crunchy. Lot of the other foods were on the oily end, so having a refreshing cucumber salad definitely hit the spot. Staff: All of the staff members were friendly! They were very knowledgeable about each of the menu items. Ambiance: Indoor and outdoor seating available. A good amount of parking in the parking lot that is shared with other shops in the plaza.

I am a local and have lived in the area my whole life. On the food delivery platforms grubhub, postmates, and ubereats this location is falsely advertised as EGGHEAD BURRITOS sharing the same phone number and address but on the official website it does not state that they are in anyway affiliated with egghead burritos. they also have a separate listing for John's Cypress (Diner) in which you are ordering the same food! THIS IS WRONG. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT. UNETHICAL. I have contacted all of these platforms stating the facts and my concerns hoping this false listing on said platforms will be removed. When a member of the grubhub support team contacted the location their defense was "we have always made breakfast burritos and breakfast food" either the support team member wasn't communicating correctly or the employee is just straight up delusional because the fact that you have always served breakfast was not the concern. I've been coming to this local spot for quite a while now, and it continues to impress me every time. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a clean, welcoming environment and a staff that truly understands the meaning of great customer service. They're always friendly, attentive, and make you feel like a valued guest. Over time, I've tried a number of different items on the menu, and I can honestly say that the food here is consistently amazing. Every dish is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Out of everything I've had, the Harvest Salad stands out as my absolute favorite. It's perfectly balanced, packed with fresh ingredients, and always hits the spot whether I'm grabbing lunch or looking for something light but satisfying. Me and my wife decided to give them a try after the remodel. Unfortunately we were disappointed. We went for breakfast and decided to share the California omelet in which to my surprise it was not good at all. Instead of real bacon, it was bacon chips, the ones you sprinkle on salads. It was a very crunchy experience which I have never had with an omelet. Maybe we just picked the wrong item on the menu but beware if you want real bacon. read more

The staff is friendly, and the restaurant maintains a clean environment. There's ample seating available for guests.
