My three-year old and I recently went there on a Saturday morning for a mommy-daughter breakfast. It wasn't crowded, but a few people who wanted a booth had to wait. We sat at the counter. She got the "bear" pancake, which was a cute pancake designed to look like a bear, with banana and chocolate chip eyes. I had a taste, and it was pretty good. I had the sausage gravy with biscuits, eggs over easy, and seasoned potatoes. The waitress was friendly and attentive. Overall, I think it's a good breakfast place, but not the best ever. The other patrons tend to be older, retired folks. read more

My coworkers and I have coined this place the old man's place. I love the cottage feel with the window dressing, and the fake topiary on your table or window sill. Also, there are a lot of older people who come here. The food is really good too. I really like the burgers in both the regular and turkey patty variety. I usually order that in the meal, with a drink and a slice of pie. My pie of choice is french apple because I'm just plain like that. I'm sure all the other pies are delicious too. The red velvet cupcakes are pretty heafty and good too, but I think I like my french apple pie more. I don't work down in LB anymore so I probably won't be making it down to the B&B anymore, but anyone else in the area go and enjoy!! read more

Ok so first of all, the food here deserves 5 stars, hands down. The pastries are amazing, the cinnamon roll was to die for. But it gets docked BIG TIME for the incredibly rude hostess at the front of the restaurant. I'm a pretty easy-going person and the way I and my friends were treated seriously made me upset. She didn't say hello to us or acknowledge our existence at all until after 5 minutes of waiting around, one of my friends went up to her and asked if we could get a table. Then she wouldn't give us an estimated wait time and said whenever there was a free table would be when we would be seated (fine I get the restaurant is busy, but can't you make an educated guess?), so we waited around for 30 minutes not knowing if we'd be waiting another 30 minute or another 30 seconds. And if we asked her if it would be much longer she acted really annoyed, like how dare we bother her with such a stupid question. One of my friends was pregnant at the time and she was about to pass out since we were there for brunch and hadn't eaten that morning. We were 30 seconds from leaving when we were finally told a table was ready. Thankfully our actual waitress was super-sweet and mostly made up for the hostess's behavior. Also, another bummer is that they run out of many popular items pretty quickly. it wasn't even midday by the time we got there and there were several items we wanted that we couldn't order. food good, hostess bad. I say, call in your order to go so you don't have to deal with her or the disapointment of not getting the items you want. read more

Sitting at the counter is the best seat in the house. We were entertained watching plate after plate of delivered to neighboring diners. It was like being on the sideline of a culinary fashion show with a backdrop of freshly baked goodies that included fmuffins, cup cakes and pies. Each looking at the peak of perfection as they were quickly served or packaged to go. The service is fast and friendly. Our food, pancakes and eggs with smoked bacon and the protein scramble with spinach, chicken, & mushrooms with tomatoes were served piping hot. We had our muffin with coffee as an appetizer. Really great vibe. They offer complimentary coffee for patrons waiting for tables. The turn over is quick, and there always seems to be an opening at the counter, where you may chat with regular for 30 some years, retired Fireman Bill. read more

We were out car shopping in Long Beach last night and decided to see if this place was still open for dinner. We were in luck to find that at 8:30, we still had another half hour to dine. D. had been there before with his mother and recommended it highly for the fresh, homemade foods. One of the hazards of coming here close to closing time is that they may have run out of some items. This was the case last night, when we tried to order the hot turkey sandwich. That's okay, the menu is full of lots of comfort food and we were able to find items that made us happy. D. ordered the chicken fried steak and I ordered the chili combo. His came with a dinner salad, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn. Mine was a cup of chili, a grilled cheese sandwich and a small salad. We both ordered the Italian dressing on our salads and we could tell it was homemade, and quite good. The highlight of D.'s meal was the mashed potatoes. They were perfect. My chili was good, and my grilled cheese was just okay because I prefer American cheese to cheddar on my grilled cheese. We were both stuffed from our meals but couldn't pass up dessert, so we got a piece of pie to go. When we got home, we devoured our piece of lemon cream cheese pie. It was light and sweet/tart, and couldn't have been better. I'm already looking forward to our next trip, and after looking at the pictures here, I think it will have to be for breakfast. My review would have to be for 4.5 stars as it stands now, but after breakfast there it may move up to 5 stars! read more

I'm usually in this area for work and had some time to kill before seeing a client. I searched here on Yelp and found that this was rated rather highly, so I decided to give it a try. I sat at the counter and ordered eggs scrambled with spinach, mushrooms and onions, hasbrowns and sourdough toast. It was really good. The hashbrowns were just crispy enough on the outside and cooked well in the middle. While eating my brunch at the counter what was staring me in the face were shelves filled with yummy baked goods. It was calling my name; however, I was good and did not order any of that sweet goodness. I'll definitely be back again to try other things on the menu. read more

I was disappointed there was no peach marmalade! But I guess I'll have to wait until July! I've come here before for their breakfast I got the country fried chicken. It was delicious! The second time I came here, I got their pot roast sandwich for lunch... It was okay. It was kind of dry. & the French fries didn't impress me either. They have plenty of baked goods! Omg I sat at the bar so my eyes were glued to those cakes & pies! All freshly baked by them! I haven't come early enough for their cream cheese muffins but I heard it's pretty amazing. You can park either on the street or at the church! This place gets pretty packed though so expect a wait! read more

Came here for lunch at 12:30. It was a 30 min wait. It's pretty busy and cramped but food is pretty good! They have a great display of freshly baked desserts. I've had the carrot, red velvet and strawberry cake so far. All are delicious but I still think red velvet is the best when it's fresh!! The apricot pie is good but I'm not a huge pie fan. Today we tried chicken fried chicken, chicken fried steak and pot pie. Yes major comfort food fix!! Honestly the best tasting one was the chicken pot pie. Very classic buttery crust and well seasoned filling with huge chunks of chicken and veggies. The other dishes were decent but not the super flavorful or crunchy. The service was good. Just heads up one stall bathrooms! But plenty of parking in a lot across the street. read more

One of my favorite places to brunch in Long Beach because of the food and parking! I usually park across the street in the church parking on the weekends so no issues with that. There's honestly nothing bad about this place. If you are an early riser, better to get here before 9:30am on the weekends. If not, be prepared for a wait since they have a small space. Portions are huge! I've tried their country fried steak - have to cut it in half and take the rest home. They have regular hash browns or "seasoned hash browns" I love that they bake and make everything fresh, cakes, pies, muffins, red velvet cake, coffee cake .. list goes on! read more

We got some baked goods, like muffins and coffee cake. Everything came out hot! I also got the breakfast burrito (special). It was huge, and it comes with fruit or apple sauce. Burrito was yummy, and the fruit was fresh! I came here for breakfast, and I want to come back to try their lunch menu. The service was slow and if you have a restrictive diet like dairy free or gluten free dont come here. They dont have any lattes with almond or soy milk. They do not have any gluten free options. I just ended up with a plain omelet and some fruit. I just expect more for a modern breakfast place in long beach. I know that in other parts of the states this restaurant would be a 5 stars but not for me. I have experience much more accommodating breakfast restaurants. If you have a traditional diet, then this place will definitely be a 5 starts for you. The muffins look amazing and smell amazing. read more

I got a great experience at Bake n Broil last Saturday. I asked for the protein omelet. It came with turkey sausage, and jock on the top. It was so good. Also, I enjoyed the whet bread and the fruit jelly they make there. It is a place with a lot of customers buy also with a lot of good service. The only inconvenient is that is only one bathroom. Other than that I was very happy with the food. read more

Bake n Broil is a hidden gem in Long Beach! Service and staff was very Friendly. It definitely gets packed but don't let it stop you from waiting. If you are not in a rush, you won't be disappointed when you receive your food! Their freshly baked treats are DELICIOUS! You can tell it is baked fresh. It's fluffy, soft, oh so scrumptious. If you don't get a baked treat during your brunch, definitely get one (or a few) lol to go! Cakes & Pies are definitely worth a slice as well. Their homemade salsa is also delicious, make sure to request it with your meal. Also a must to try is their homemade Pot pies! It's not all crust. The crust tho is also light, buttery & flaky! read more

Long time diner. First time reviewer. Was laying in bed the Wednesday night before Father's Day when we realized we didn't have a dessert picked out. Hopped on the Bake and Broil website and ordered apple and cherry pies for Saturday pick-up. They do online preorders for holidays. Fast in and out of the shop at 3pm. Kept the pies at room temp overnight. Dug in Sunday afternoon. So good. The apples had nice tartness and were soft, but not mushy. Sweet and not overly cinnamony. Great, flaky crust. Ain't nobody got no time for no egg wash. The tops are pale with a dusting of ultra fine sugar maybe. Just the way we like it. Can't wait to order more for Thanksgiving. Halloween? Labor Day? Independence Day? read more

This is how breakfast is suppose to be. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to serve a great breakfast, but you'd be surprised at how bad some actually are. Everything was cooked perfectly and those hash browns were the best I have ever had - even better then my own! You had plenty to pick from, the value was certainly there, the service and timeliness of our order (three in the party) was spot on. Parking was a bit awkward, but I'm not going to remove points for that because it was due to construction that this place had nothing to do with. A wait of about 40 min even on a Thursday around 11:30 am. It's good to know at least the economy hasn't necessarily affected Bake N Broil. Since it was my first time here, even after living 2 minutes away, it was extremely difficulty to choose something. There is such a variety, but I choose the Country Style Breakfast with the country gravy on the side. The gravy was kind of salty for me, but then again, I didn't really like the gravy. I just wanted to spread the HOMEMADE jam on the biscuit. The peach jam is definitely my favorite. The seasoned hashbrowns, which include bell peppers and onions, were pretty oily but still good. The sausage was really good. Very juicy and tender. The Red Velvet cake has nuts in it so stay away if you have a nut allergy. The cake was definitely moist and the cream cheese was finely made, having no granules. Overall I would definitely come back. Prices are decent for what you get. Very comforting place. The only complaint is that the waiter was a little awkward, but at least he was somewhat attentive... read more

I know this is a bixby knolls fave, but I don't think I'll be returning here. The food is just not memorable enough. I got a sandwich-soup combo. A club sammy will be just that, but I expected the soup be better I suppose. Maybe I'll give it one more shot but after two bland visits, I'm in no rush. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Long Beach. I'm definitely a regular especially when it comes to their desserts. HOWEVER, today I purchased two slices of their delicious carrot cake, but today something went wrong in the flavor department. This is usually one of the best carrot cakes in town. NOT today. It was not as moist and the cake itself was bland. The only redeeming quality was the icing. I sacrificed calories all week for one of my favorite Bake n Broil desserts. What a let down. read more

I came here with my two kids on a Saturday afternoon. The wait for a table was about 10 minutes. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I was so happy to get two of my favorite flavors in one pancake-LEMON and BLUEBERRY. The were divine! They pancakes were not on the menu, but our kind waiter said they do still make them. The pancakes come with a side of fresh raspberry sauce. The sausage are not the puny links you usually get at restaurants. My son said his eggs were very tasty. I want to try the quiche next time. I look forward to coming back again and making this one of our favorite hang outs! The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because I'm not too crazy about the parking. Strawberry shortcake! I first came in on a late Sunday afternoon. The rooms filled up pretty quick for dinner, there was a wait out the door when we left. Cute, tiny, little place with pretty nice size portions. Had the chicken pot pie, which I freakin inhaled at the table and did not want to share with others. If you enjoy eating at Denny's, Marie Callender's, Polly's Pies, and other diner-type restaurants, or you find yourself watching Triple D and falling asleep while salivating, you owe it to yourself to check out this local gem in Long Beach. They've got pretty much every classic American dish you'd pay more for at a chain. And the selection of pies is amazing, with seemingly something for everyone. (Warning: Popular choices can sell out while you eat dinner!) I've had a wide assortment of soups, salads, sandwiches, dinners and desserts here and I've never been disappointed. PROS : excellent service reasonable prices fresh and delicious food clean and well-kept seasonal menu and great staples CONS : long wait times (but worth it!) can get crowded street parking (or park at the church's lot across the street) RECOMMENDED : orange glaze muffin cinnamon french toast cafe mocha (a steal at under $3! lol) OVERALL : Love this place! Had brunch here recently and it did not disappoint. Everyone we encountered was friendly and attentive. Could not have asked for better service. Food was fresh, seasoned well and quite yummy. I have been to this place 3 times and have yet to be disappointed. Their pies are sooooo gooood! Visit #1 -- Weekday visit-came in around 5:00pm and was seated right away. There was absolutely no wait. I ordered the chicken pot pie and had the pecan pie for dessert. The crust of the chicken pot pie was just perfect. It was nice and crumbly and buttery. The pecan pie was DELICIOUS! Visit # 2 -- Saturday morning at 10:30am was nuts. We decided to get breakfast on a Saturday morning here and knew there would be a wait. However, it was one of those SoCal heat wave Saturday's and we were just melting in the sun while waiting at the benches outside. Luckily they have offer water inside while waiting outside. It took around 40 minutes to get a table for 3. I suggest going to the quick-seating "bar area" if you have a party of only 1 or 2 because there is no wait and it is self-seating as soon as a seat is available. This visit, I ordered the blueberry pancakes. The pancakes are nice and moist. But I would say the best part of our meal was the BLUEBERRY MUFFIN! I can't stress enough how good their blueberry muffins are! Visit #3 -- Weekday brunch at 10:45am-yay, there was no wait! I ordered the quiche. This visit is my absolute fave. The quiche was so moist and creamy with their signature crust. It was SOOOO GOOD. Of course, I couldn't leave without trying one of their pies at ordered a slice of banana cream to go. BEST DECISION EVER! I found it even tastier than marie calendar's banana cream pie. Will definitely be ordering this pie again, hands down! read more

There are a few parking spaces behind the building, but count on parking on the street. We went during the day, and there was adequate parking. I don't what it's like in the evening when residents return home from work.

They do not take reservations. But there is also counter seating so you can skip the line. It's first come, first serve so there may be a little wait.

I would cook it for 30 mins in a preheated oven 375-400 depending on your oven. Check with a butter knife to see if it ready to remove from the oven...

Why was the restaurant closed this evening? Drove all the way from south orange county for dinner here. The hours said open until 830.

Just a tip: You can sit at the counter without having to wait for a table. This comes in useful if you're in a smaller party and want to eat as soon as possible. When walking into Jongewaard's, the first thing you notice is the aroma of baked goods. Once your nose is done doing a little dance, you'll open your eyes and see that these sugary concoctions are indeed real, and they are very available for your consumption. No joke, I saw a lot of people order dessert options as their appetizers which completely bewildered me, but hey, who am I to judge? The three of us opted for the counter space since we were a party of three. Even at 2PM in the afternoon on a Thursday had a 20-minute wait and we were hungry. It's kind of cool to sit at the counter, not only do you get primo service, you get to see all of the delicious items other people are ordering. When you walk in you'll see that it's super small inside, that's why there is usually always a wait. I opted for the pot roast sandwich. This came with a side of horseradish sauce that wasn't overly potent and gave the handheld that nice bite to it. Now, the pot roast was plentiful and it was super tender. I was full after the first half, but the thought of me leaving any of this deliciousness behind broke my heart - so I powered through. The meal also comes with a soup or salad. I opted for clam chowder and I wasn't disappointed. Its got a nice thick broth to it and there were plenty of clams to be consumed. Vee really wanted blueberry pancakes and the restaurant didn't disappoint. They came in a stack of three and they pretty much took over the whole plate. Not only did she get blueberries, she got fresh blueberries on top. For three meals and three drinks, our total came to about $34. I couldn't believe it. Bake N Broil is on Atlantic around 37th ave. I really like this place. All of their food is really really good and the desserts are really good as well. Ok, lets get deeper with it. I don't ever really sit and eat at this restaurant. It is filled with senior citizens and is always pretty crowded. I am not taking away any points for this because one day I too will be old and will need hangouts, but I personally only call my orders in and come pick them up and leave. I usually get the burger from here and everywhere I go. They have great burgers here that I always had bacon and avocado to. I have also grabbed a soup from here (I think it was split pea) and again, it was really amazing. I also usually get a couple of blueberry muffins or a slice of pie or something. I don't have a big sweet tooth so this review is not all about the desserts but I must admit - even for someone who doesn't eat to many sweets, these are pretty good. They always have a fresh staff of really young servers and waitresses but all seem scared enough to get everything pretty much right. (haha, I am not kidding, I may be crazy/wrong but I just get the feeling of a tightly ran ship whenever I am in there). They close sort of early so make sure you keep that in mind when you are considering them for dinner. Breakfasts there are really good also and I've even taken family there for their birthday. I've loved Jongewaard's Bake n Broil for over 20 years, and it used to be one of my go-to spots, especially for their comforting meals and warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, my most recent visit was a huge disappointment, and I've made the difficult decision not to return. The service was, frankly, terrible. Our server Roger seemed uninterested and made us feel like we were an inconvenience rather than welcomed guests. He barely checked on us, and when he did, there was no friendliness or effort to make us feel at home. It felt like we were bothering him which made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome. To make matters worse, the food quality has clearly gone downhill. I ordered my favorite burger, something I've always looked forward to, but it arrived cold and burned. It was disheartening to see how much the standards I once trusted had slipped. The dining experience was finished off Roger following us out the door to express his dissatisfaction regarding his tip. This was the most rude and unprofessional behavior which we came back in to share with the manager on duty. We didn't receive an apology for our server behavior or our disappointing dining experience. Overall, the experience left me feeling sad and unappreciated, a far cry from the charm that made this restaurant special to me. This is the last time I ever buy anything from here!! I ordered my son a cheese burger meal who is at home waiting. They gave me a cheese burger only. The owner with the glasses said the kids meals are for kids under 12, I said my kid is at home. He said 'oh and he likes ice tea. 'And I said' huh! You ran out of strawberry lemonade. I had no option beside water. 'I will never give them my money!!! I only come here because my friend was a waiter at bake n Broil before he died . RIP. I go to pay respect, ima have to go to the cemetery more often. I will never come here again!!!!!! I will never give them my money!!! I bought every birthday cake for my son here for the last 9 years!!!!! I hate this place!!! They broke my heart!!!! I asked to fix my order because my son would ask for the fries of course becuase his a kid!!!! And They gave me the rest of my order in a bag, they put my fries in a bag. The owner is a Horrible person!!l!!!!!! This just happen less then 2 minutes ago!!!! The owner charged me initially $12.98 for one cheeseburger and a cupcake. Wow!!!!!!!! There are many reasons why this restaurant has been our Saturday Morning Breakfast place for over 20 years. We're not alone in this regard. We've seen the same loyal patrons over that period of time as well as many newcomers that have turned into regulars. We've come to know many of them and have many friendly conversations with them. First and foremost, the food is consistently wonderful and you get tremendous value for your dollar. Our favorites are their pancake sandwich (3 large pancakes with eggs and sausage/bacon/burger patty) and their many omelettes - especially the Bacon-Avocado-Cheddar and Vegetarian! They also have a delicious salsa that is a wonderful complement to any egg dish... We've also been there for the occasional lunch and dinner and the food is just as delicious. But, for us, this is our place for breakfast! They bake their own delicious quiches, cakes, pies, and muffins... YUM!!! The owners and staff are friendly and engaging and the service is prompt. They have a dining card that you can load up with cash and use as a debit card to pay for your purchases. Currently, they have a policy where they give you $10 for every $100 you put on the card. I had been coming to Bake N Broil for lunch and dinner for years with my grandmother, partly because she loved the soup. For some time, I had also had friends telling me that if I love breakfast (which I do), and biscuits 'n' gravy in particular (which I also do), then I needed to try a place called Jongewaard's. Recently, I asked my mom if she wanted to go out for brunch, and she answered, "Sure. Let's go to Bake N Broil." I replied, "Actually, I want to try this place called Jongewaard's that's also on Atlantic." She just stared at me like I had a midget growing out the side of my head. Eventually, she broke the silence and said, "You realize they're the same place, right?" I was pleased to finally try the breakfast menu at Jongewaard's Bake N Broil that day. The bacon and eggs hit the spot, and the biscuits 'n' gravy were even better. I'd say the biscuits 'n' gravy are reason enough to draw one here for breakfast. How have I not written about this landmark in the LBC. I first came here over 35 years ago with my parents and enjoyed outstanding food. Love the pancakes here, simply the best. Now it's 35 years later and nothing has changed but the paint. Still the same great taste and service. Service is above average probably cause they let you eat. They make their rounds refilling drinks, but they let you enjoy your meal. I'm a pancake fool and these are the best. Even the whole wheat cakes are good too. I rarely order anything else here, but today I got the avo/bac/cheese omelet. Thick sliced bacon, fresh avocado, and their own salsa made this a great change. I did steal some of my girlfriends pancakes....lol. You have to check out their baked goods too. Muffins, pies, cakes, and other assorted goodies are worth the to-go bag. We know to go early. We got their about 7:30am and by 8am it started to get packed. The price runs about $10pp on the average, but well worth it. Check it out and let me know what you think..... read more

I really wanted to love this place (as most of the yelpers do). But after 3+ visits, i've come to the conclusion that this will never be a go-to place for me. My last visit was a weekend breakfast that included delicious blueberry pancakes & ham/cheese omelet. Ok, so the food was good, but what irked me was the inept handling of getting people seated as dictated by their sign-in wait sheet. There may have been 5 other (later) parties that were called before us & when i complained about it to the manager, she said that we probably didn't hear our name when called (hello, we were right in front of the bar facing the waiter who calls out names). Looking at the wait list, someone crossed out my name & re-wrote it looking like we have already been seated. All we got was an insincere apology from Janice (the manager) & not a crap about the inconvenience. Never again. read more

Went there with some friends today all mixed races from Hispanic to black, there was a waiting list. So we sat outside we was talking joking around a few I guess profanity words was spoken a white lady did not like it she ran past us and told us to shut up. We kept talking and said if she would of respectfully asked us to watched our language we would of instead of acting like a b. She mad tells me to get up like she wants to fight me I tell her to mind her own business she goes talks the owner the owner comes out tells us to just leave without saying anything else not even asking what was going on and says he is just going to call the police. We mention we are the only non white here and your just going to kick us out for talking outside without evening trying to find out what's going on. He takes offense saying it's not like that and we leave. read more

Today was the last time I will be treated poorly by the snotty owners of Bake N Broil. This will sadly end 23 years of faithful dedication to a place that has wonderful servers but horrible owners. They think the world owes them a favor and are so rude it is surprising anybody puts up with it. Today I politely asked for a seat as there were no less than 7 open, Queen bee replies"cant you see there is a wait?" There were 2 folks sitting there, obviously scared of the soup nazi mentality but they were not young and able to jump up and go elsewhere. My family, business, and friends will no longer be treated poorly by this family. I have given them many chances and returned after this stuff happens but this is the end. read more

I've had the pleasure of both dining in for breakfast and ordering takeout from Jongewaard's Bake n Broil in Long Beach, and each experience has been delightful! For breakfast, the atmosphere inside is cozy and welcoming, with friendly staff who make you feel right at home. The menu offers a fantastic variety of classic breakfast dishes, all cooked to perfection. As for their bakery, the takeout experience is just as impressive. The selection of pastries and baked goods is extensive, and everything I've tried has been fresh and flavorful. Overall, Jongewaard's Bake n Broil is a gem in Long Beach, and I highly recommend it for both a sit-down meal and a quick bakery pickup. Can't wait to visit again! read more

Bake n broil is the place to eat breakfast. Its like going to grandma's house for a really hearty and filling meal. The girls who work here have worked here for years, so they know you when you go in. Like that old tv series where everyone in the bar says hey to you when you walk in. I haven't had any breakfast i don't like. And the pies are really good. If i'm to full to eat whatever pie was made that day, i will take one home. I think my favorite breakfast here is the scambled eggs with chili and cheese with a side of bacon. So good. My girl likes the bluberry pancakes and sweet muffins. Regulars tell me the lunch is good to so I'm gonna have to come back to check that out. read more

Bake n' Broil is amazing and easily one of my favorite spots. I come here every week and they seriously don't miss -- from breakfast to burgers, everything I've had has been great. The chicken pot pies are absolutely to die for and one of those menu items you keep coming back for. The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome. I also never leave without getting dessert. Their cakes are incredible and I love the carrot cake -- definitely one of my favorites. This place is always busy, which tells you a lot, so get there early or expect a wait. It's worth it though. Great food, great people, and one of those local spots that keeps you coming back. read more

I've come here quite a few times after medical appointments. They are very friendly and the wait is never long--for tables or for room at the bar. I've been here for breakfast and lunch, and have picked up food to go in the evenings. Their eggs are tasty, as are their seasoned hash browns. Quiches and desserts are fantastic. They excel at baked goods--particularly PIES. They make cherry, pumpkin, pumpkin strudel, pecan, apple, french apple, lemon meringue, lemon lush, peach, and others. I am proud to say I've tried most. This review is long overdue, but I want to share my experience at Bake n Broil, which is an amazing establishment! We arrived just as they were closing for seating, but they kindly allowed us to eat outside and remained attentive to us throughout our visit. Everyone was so thoughtful! The atmosphere was cute and homey. As for the food, it was incredible. We ordered the chicken salad and the grilled chicken sandwich, along with some cornbread, which was warm and crumbly. My wonderful husband took me to this restaurant that he had been to before-I absolutely loved it! It was clean and quaint and most of all had the most delicious food! We had the veggie omelet with hash browns and sourdough toast with delicious jam! Everything melted in our mouths and we had a cozy booth to sit in and relax and hang out with each other. We ordered a slice of German chocolate cake and a red velvet cupcake to go and my husband was impressed with the reasonable pricing. Walking by the kitchen for the back seating is a treat! There's a nice atmosphere here with nice service too. I had an omelette with bacon and avocado, which was just ok... the eggs were overcooked = super dried out. But the avocados were perfectly ripened. The carrot muffin (baked here) was realllly good though. Everyone else at the table seemed 'whatever' about their roast beef sandwich and hamburger too. So I'd only return to try some more baked goods and coffee. Great company made it work. Fail entree = fail, 3.5 stars. read more

I recently visited this restaurant for breakfast, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. The pastries were absolutely delicious, and the ambiance was truly inviting. I had the huevos rancheros and I have to admit that it was just ok, lacked a little more flavor for my preference. However, everything else was great. Be prepared for a bit of a wait, as it can get quite crowded because it's a pretty popular spot. Despite that, the delicious pastries and amazing customer service made it well worth it! read more

A family affair with their own children working in this restaurant. I wasn't to harsh on the service because I understood the pressure she was going through. Netti who was our server, waitress and host did her best to accommodate us. I really recommend staff management to support Taco Tuesdays accordingly. Lucky alot of the people in the restaurant were very patient with the service being provided. They could use some work on this subject I recommend supporting this family restaurant. I will try to order other things on the menu next time.
