Although packed, we got seats at the counter fast and once our order was in, it was very fast too. We ordered two avocado bacon cheddar omelettes with hashbrowns and a blueberry muffin and 9 grain toast. The provided salsa, peach and strawberry jam were all excellent. Let me tell you this one passes the test with flying freaking colors. I also got two slices of pie (rhubarb and cherry) I was sharing with my dad. We can't always connect emotionally, but food really brings us together. I feel grateful for that. Yum!!!!! Us old farts were in the early dinner crowd but I guess it's take out now. No problem for us, we got comfy at home and the food stayed delicious. We had to reheat it but hey that's what microwaves are for! Oh and the French onion soup too!!! My favorite place to eat at and my family has eaten here for many years. Today we came around 2 pm and it was the only time we did not have to wait at all for a table. I just wish they were opened till later in the day, since they are closed by 3 pm. They have the BEST chicken no pot pie for $14. They give a big portion with the best flaky crust and a choice of a soup or salad to go with. Any of the breakfast options are great too!! My boyfriend got a big and yummy breakfast burrito. This is my go to spot for baked goods and have delicious food in general (breakfast is my favorite). But this is based on my most recent venture. I always get their coconut cream pie for my mom's birthday. My wife said they offered coconut meringue now and we decided to mix it up. Not sure if it was an off day or this is how they normally all do it. But it was all meringue and almost no custard. Literally a mountain of meringue with a thin layer of water custard underneath. I was really disappointed with how their pies usually are. I'll stick to what I know is good and not come back for any of their meringue pies. Though on vacation mode, but I didn't want to start pigging out, so I ordered the Protein Omelette w/ their seasoned hash browns. Instead of a muffin, I opted for the biscuits and gravy. My counterpart ordered the pancake combo (3 pancakes, 2 eggs, and choice of bacon or sausage). Food arrived quickly. My omelette was good, but he vegetables weren't chopped evenly so I had small hunks and large chunks. I didn't finish some of the large bell pepper slices and tomato as well. Other than that, it was very good. The seasoned hash browns were very good as well. The highlight in my eyes were the biscuits and gravy. The biscuit was not dry whatsoever, and it was so light and airy. The gravy was heavenly delicious. Like if I could, I would order 10 of these alone! I didn't think you could go wrong but I just remember having to add tons of ketchup and mayo to make it taste more flavorful. - Chicken Pot Pie: This was the saving grace, it was a good portion and so good. This is my honest review Lets start with the good... The service was great, the employees were polite, smiley, and the waitor was very attentive withotlut being fake or extra. Given that, I did tip 20%. The food was subpar. was surprised because it was crowded with good reviews. Maybe it was what I ordered, or maybe people just like to eat gross food. I ordered the chicken fried chicken because fried chicken is usually hard to mess up. Honestly it was OK, not really worth eating though. I felt the breading was too soggy, maybe it had too much gravy. The scrambled eggs were Ok as well. The salsa (likely not house made) was one of the best parts of the meal. The bacon was so greesy, i had to use two napkins to wipe it off. The hash browns were the worst part, burnt on the outside, soggy on the inside (too much moisture). The water was aldo gross, tasted like tap water, which I am sure it was but I took one sip and was like nope. I waited at least 30 minutes for a table so I expected it to be at least decent. Maybe I got the wrong items, but I will not be going back. I ate half a cup of salsa, two pieces of bacon, half the eggs, and 1/4 the chicken. I did ask for a to go box but trashed it as soon as I walked out. I regret that, but I wanted to be polite. I had a gut feeling based on the pictures of the food this wouldnt be up to snuff, but between the reviews and it being recommended I said why not, have an open mind, which led to a closed mouth. read more

We put our names down and according to the host the counter is first come first serve basis. It's a small restaurant and it gets pretty busy. So here is when I find it a bit unorganized. We were lucky to have found seats inside since it was cold outside. We decided to wait for the counter since it's a tad faster than waiting for a table. But when it's first come first serve basis, it's kinda hard to determined who you'll end up trying to beat to the chairs. It can definitely cause a huge misunderstanding and a fight. Luckily one customer came in and asked around where we were sitting. He literally created his own seating list because he wanted to be courteous and not cut in front of people who's waiting. LOL I wished they had a rule and just let the customers decide whether to sit at the counter or wait for a table at the time you put your name down. When we sat at the counter they called out our names. Luckily we were still sitting there so that they can mark us off their list and move on to the next customer. Enough of that and on to the food. We got the chicken pot pie, steak and eggs, ham steak and eggs and hamburger. The chicken pot pie is delicious!!! It also comes with a side of soup! It's a must get! Steak and eggs, the steak was bland but okay to eat after a bit of salt and pepper. The salsa they have is good and so is their hash browns. Ham steak and eggs, also good. Just your normal ham steak. Hamburger was also good as well. Overall, I think the food is good not bad. Price is still very reasonable!!! They also make their special pies/cakes in house but too full to try.
