Saw this place on instagram and hype is def real. We got the rose latte and matcha latte and both were solid. The rose syrup in the latte was not overpowering and was the right amount. I came here with a few friends for the first time and I think I will definitely be coming back to try the cakes I didn't get a chance to this time. Out of everything we chose, I liked the pistachio raspberry tart the best because the cream was absolutely delicious, but we really enjoyed all of them and did not leave behind a single crumb. You eat with the eyes first and with visuals like this, we might as well be full from just looking at all the desserts. If you're willing to spend a little more than usual for a pastry, but have the aesthetically pleasing views, come to Jonquil's. FOOD: I ordered the coffee bean mousse cake and the iced matcha lavender. My friend ordered the apple caramel mousse cake. I must say, the cakes are GORGEOUS and tasted PHENOMENAL. The cakes were moist, and the mousse is so smooth and perfectly sweet. I wished there was a vanilla cake option for these cakes though. The iced matcha lavender, on the other hand, is mediocre. You can barely taste the matcha and the lavender is there, but you kinda forget about it once the ice and milk dilutes the entire drink. For $9/cake, it's way too expensive for something you'll only get 4-5 bites from. I wouldn't come here again for a quick dessert stop, but if you've never been here, I would definitely come and check it out at least once. AMBIANCE/SERVICE: Jonquil's is the definition of Instagram heaven. This is the place for a pretty Instagram photo as everything is aesthetically pleasing/clean to the eye. The service was fast considering we came here at 11:30am. Pro tip: Come here as early as you can to snag a cake. Seems like they sell out fast. As I was leaving, a line was forming. read more

The desserts here are so visually pleasing!! been wanting to come here for the longest time. my favorite was definitely the exotique spheres, which is just a blend of my favorite flavors mango and passionfruit. The mousse was light, the outside was creamy, and the interior of the cake had a nice slight crunch. would definitely get this one again, and it was also a beautiful and amazingly handcrafted dessert. The raspberry pistachio one was also pretty good, but I'm not a huge fan of tart marshmallow (the top of the dessert). This dessert was more tart and less light than the exotique spheres one, and there was also not much pistachio (which I was looking forward to). Beautiful, unique and DELICIOUS 3D printer cakes. I absolutely loved them. Overall this is a very pricey cafe and service isn't always the most pleasant, but the pastries make up for all of that. I had the green pentagon cake which was milk chocolate mousse, rich chocolate sponge, almond crunch and dark chocolate cremeux. It was truly one of the most decadent cakes i've had in a while. I also had a pour over coffee with oat milk that was just okay. I will definitely be returning to Jonquils to try more of their exquisite cakes. read more

3D Printed cakes are delicious and absolutely stunning. You'll have to try to arrive before 11 because they usually sell out (took me 3 tries and coming right at opening to get some). Just sucks that they're so overpriced. Tried their seasonal special teas and these unfortunately do not live up to the hype. They all tasted watered down from all the ice. But the ambience inside the cafe is stunning! Definitely a great place to take a date, do an interview, or just study. read more

Adorable, clean, modern and beautiful cafe. It's very French/Parisian feeling and quite lovely. It's quiet, calming, and they offer a variety of food and beverage options. Their espresso is DELICIOUS. You can tell it's fresh and very high quality - creamy, elegant, and decadent. Their barista was very knowledgeable and professional and brought my croissant and mocha espresso right over to my table. You could tell the croissant was freshly made - buttery, toasted, and flakey crust (melted in my mouth). This place is so much better than Starbucks - do yourself a favor and try their espresso beverages. My only criticism is they don't have a ramp for disabled patrons or patrons who are handicapped/ in wheelchairs/on scooters. I happen to be on crutches right now with a terrible injury and the stairs only option made it difficult to get in. You'll be hooked! What a great experience! read more

rating: 3.5/5 been wanting to try out this place for the longest time because of how nicely designed their desserts are! although it's definitely overhyped, we were still glad to give them a try. - notes - both cash and card are accepted! not sure if they have a bathroom inside - atmosphere - the inside of this shop seems to have a nice simple and minimalistic theme, but it's almost always crowded to the brim with people waiting to order on line. i didn't get to check out how spacious the bottom floor was, but there were a few tables set up outside where people could eat. - overall experience - my friends and i stopped by on a saturday afternoon and it was extremely busy. the line reached almost all the way to the door and it was borderline claustrophobic to be inside. a few of us waited on line for around 10 minutes before we were able to order, but then we had to wait almost another 10 minutes for our dessert to be given to us. not sure why it took so long, but it's not like we were in a rush anyway. all of the tables inside and outside were occupied too, so we had to go elsewhere to eat. - recommendations - highly recommend their mango dessert! 11/5/22 -mango dessert: this mango-shaped dessert was filled with some type of mango passionfruit mousse, exotic fruit coulis, coconut crunch, and almond sponge. it was really cute, but probably not one of the most photogenic desserts that they have available. the size was really small too, which made it kind of difficult to share among multiple people. in terms of flavor, the mango definitely stood out without being too sweet. the texture of the mousse also melted in your mouth, which is a plus. but for almost $10, i definitely think it's overpriced and probably wouldn't get it again. but it was still nice to see what all the hype was about haha. I've seen this place popping up on my instagram for a while and finally took the time to check it out. The deserts were a delightful textural journey mixing mouse, cookie and fruit (I did the apple and pear). I had a rose latte that was unique and delicious. I enjoyed it so much I took my family back a few weeks later and tried the banana peanut butter one and found it to be equally as enjoyable. Great place to go for a quick dessert or just a tea or coffee. I highly recommend. The price is a bit hefty for a dessert (about 10 dollars) but if you knew how much goes into creating/baking these you might think it's worth it! The presentation is also v picture worthy. I believe it take over 15 hours or create these desserts with 3D molds to get there unique shape. And honestly the two desserts we tried were very delicious, soft, not too sweet, and decadent. Popped into this cute, aesthetic cafe for a quick afternoon pick-me-up on my last day in Boston, and I am so glad I opted for the rose latte because it was a really good choice. The rose syrup is sweet but not overly so, and most importantly, the rose flavor itself really comes through along with the coffee itself. It wasn't the most aesthetically made latte I've had, but I care less about aesthetic and more about taste, and the taste definitely delivered. I was very intrigued by their 3-D printed desserts, but decided it wasn't in the cards for me that day. The food there is special, but the geometric apple is the best due to the balance of flavors and the surprisingly cheap price. The geometrically shaped, beautifully decorated desserts at Jonquils immediately caught my eye on Instagram, and as soon as I saw these works of art I knew I had to try them! I had Jonquils saved on my collections for a while, and finally was able to try it for the first time with a friend today. I tried the rose latte, it had a subtle (not overpowering) taste of rose in the coffee, and was not cloyingly sweet. I also tried a sip of my friends flora jasmine tea, the experience of watching is bloom was magical. The taste was also great and reminded me of the loose leaf jasmine my mom gets from Japan! My friend and I split the Exotique Spheres dessert and the Hazelnut Caramel dessert. I was worried that the desserts just looked pretty and the taste of both wouldn't be remarkable (this has happened to me at other dessert shops I've visited around the world), but was pleasantly surprised here! Also, was so happy as a pescatarian to discover that they use fish gelatin here (don't worry, you can't taste the fish!) In both desserts, the mousse inside were fresh and well flavored, but was also surprised the cake still managed to stay moist, without being soaked. The combination of textures and flavors on both desserts was a delight to taste! While both were divine, the hazelnut caramel was my favorite (I love chocolate hazelnut combo, and it didn't disappoint!) Would highly recommend bringing a friend or small group of friends so you can split and try multiple desserts as a fun weekend activity! read more
