The ambience is always good. The food is definitely always yummy and the service is great.

My wife had suggested that we stop by Jo's for lunch which I agreed because I've had good food from them in the past. We arrived, sat at our table, and the waitress came by to get our order (nothing new here right?). The big pitch was the lunchtime deal which both of us thought would be a good choice. We made a note though that "pizza cook time is 20-30 minutes" which we thought was a bit odd, chose this as our meal, and it was sent off to the kitchen to be made. They brought us our waters and salads (Wedge and Greek) which both were really great and after some time brought our pizzas. Honestly, I was a bit surprised, because it was stated on the menu that it was any 6in pizza on the menu this it didn't impact me until it was sat in front of me. These pizzas are smaaaaalllll, they actually remind me of the personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut from back in the day. I bypassed how small they are because they looked good initially. After I pulled apart the first slice, it literally fell apart, and toppings went everywhere. I ended up using my fork to put everything back onto the slice to hold it until I could eat it. I thought you know what it's ok because even though toppings are running everywhere, it was still good pizza. I went a while without any water which I ended up having some of my wife's water. They weren't that busy at 12 p.m. but she ended up bringing me another water but right at the end of the meal, giving me a full glass right before I left. Woo.....(note sarcasm). After all of that, the check arrived which is why I gave them one star. Looking at the check we discovered that we were charged additionally for the salads we received. This made us recall what was actually included in the lunchtime special which was any 6in pizza (which we ordered), a small salad, and a drink. The server never mentioned anything about getting an actual drink instead of the water and the additional charges for the salads. This is kind of a deal breaker for me due to the reasons of not being notified about this, we're the customer, treat us as if we've never seen the menu before. It is what it is though. Jo's pizza is delicious, but what keeps us coming back is the Greek salad... fantastic. The ratio of toppings to greens is on point. The large feeds 6 and fills an entire pizza box. This was also one of the best curbside pickup experiences I've had during the pandemic. When we have dined in preciously, the ambiance is lovely and my kids enjoy playing with the pizza dough they provide. Their pizza also does not disappoint! Eating Jo's Famous Pizza is like commandeering a full length bus, taking over as the driver, ignoring all rules of the road, and taking it full throttle straight up a mountain of insanely tasty pizza. Jo's never lets you take your foot off the gas as if you were Keanu Reeves or Sandra Bullock in Speed as you fly head first onto awesome avenue. The crust draws you in with an aroma that can only be compared to that of a parade of celestial beings that fuse flavors on the spot. As you pick up a slice you notice that the slice remains out flat while you pick it up instead of sloppily bending and losing some of the golden toppings. Your mind then begins to panic "this pizza crust must be overcooked and burnt if it stays flat like this." Not so fast my friend! This crust somehow stays perfectly rigid while also being soft! This is a new revelation; this crust must be made by divine doctors of pizza, there is simply no way a mere mortal could make perfect crust like this! Without blinking you see the pepperonis seemingly multiply to infinite proportions before your very eyes! You do a couple of those real hard blinks as if your eyes somehow are feeding your mind lies like that of a liar! After shaking a few times it begins to dawn on you...this bountiful pepperoni harvest is all yours to reap! Each pepperoni is somehow better than the last, leading you into a home stocked with bliss in every room. There is very little of that meddlesome sauce that can cause other pizza shops to flip their entire pie off kilter and send it careening into a Nor'easter type storm! No, Jo does it correctly with the perfect amount of sauce. This is very much like an ancient roman general having just the correct amount of tact to swiftly strike down his foe's on the way to creating one of the most powerful empires in the history of the world. It is at this point you begin to wonder. Is there anything wrong with this pizza? Just as you ask yourself that question you taste it...Mozzarella...It floats down onto your tongue like that of a pillow in a parachute falling into a pool of feathers. It is so subtle, so soft, so intoxicating. After your thirty second hypnotic trans wears off you immediately break down in tears....Jo has somehow done what was thought to be impossible....This pizza is not just magnificent, not just magnanimous, not even simply magical...It is a Masterpiece. You bust your way through the concrete wall that is 6 full pieces and start thinking "is it a bad idea to aim for double digits?" You brush that stupid voice away as if it was telling you that SPAM actually stands for "Sliced Processed Alien Meat" and keep attacking your pie. Very custom, you can even split into quarter sections. My favorite thing is pa's garlic dressing on the house salad. Everything is homemade and original twists to delicious classics. You must try a salad and a pizza, but trying the boomers which are jalapeños filled with awesome stuff, is an added bonus. The kids get a drop of uncooked dough to play with. Totally got the order wrong, delivered the wrong pizza, and the only correct pizza, pepperoni, onion and green pepper was too greasy and soggy to eat. Tried calling the restaurant 7 times and went straight to voicemail. Price is ridiculous and poor quality. Worse part is poor/no customer service! Pizza is delicious, the atmosphere is rustic but feels dirty We ordered an rollers as an appetizer and an XL pizza, 1/3 Greek, 1/3 chicken Alfredo and 1/3 combination. The rollers came out very quickly. They were good but we spent more time waving flies away than we did eating the rollers. The waitress did not come back and check on us for another 30-45 minutes to deliver our pizza. All our drinks were empty and we had to ask for refills. What can I say the name got me to try it. Famous you say? Well, at least it was expensive. Definitely not my idea of, "good pizza." The amount of food you get, for the price, is amazing! I absolutely loved how they served the salad, which was in a pizza box. Both pizzas were out of this world delicious. Another gem about Jo's is their lunch special! A drink, a 6" pizza and a small(not so small) salad for 10.99? I think yes! You can also do this with their sandwiches instead of pizza, but I love pizza way too much to stray away. As far as pizza recommendations.... I first have to say that I have not found a pizza I do like here, I feel like I have tried a good variety and they have not disappointed! My top favorite choices are the Sooner(includes bacon, chicken, sausage, hamburger, pepperonis, Italian sausage, & hot links!) and a good ole Pepperoni! (Jo's does not hold back on the pepperonis on their pizza and I do truly love it!) A quick honorable mention flavor and tip--order the Cowboy(includes bbq sauce, cheese, hamburger, bacon, & onions) BUT! I had dinner there and was totally disappointed in every part of the dinner. When I got there we were not greeted by anyone and I walked up to a hostess to get a table. She showed my friend and I our table. We waited there for over 7 minutes before my friend got a manager to get our drinks. The manager also took our pizza order. Our pizza came 18 minutes later and was too small and I ordered extra sauce on my half of the pizza. I will say this there was a lot of pepperoni on the pizza. They said they were sorry and brought me a container of sauce instead of giving me a small pizza cooked correctly. The wait staff loved to stay back by the cooks and talk among themselves. The floor was very dirty. There was an older guy cleaning tables. I spoke loudly when he was cleaning the table next to me about my issues with my dinner and he never made a comment or anything. I went there with some friends expecting it to live up to its "Famous" title. But boy was I wrong. The title Joe's Famous Pizza is greatly taken out of context. What the title really means is famous for being awful. I paid 20 dollars for a small pizza, that was soaking in its own grease, and when I lifted it up, all of the toppings just fell of completely, along with a faucet of grease with it. The dough was undercooked and raw, and the marinara was nonexistent. The only thing that was keeping the pizza together was the sticky cheese. The service was atrocious. The waiters are a bunch of 15 year olds sitting on their phones when they could be waiting tables. Our waiter had to ask 2 different times what drink she was refilling. It was a lemonade, and a Dr.Pepper, should not be that hard to remember. And it said the pizza should take around 30 minutes to make, but it was almost an hour. And when we needed another refill, I turned around and saw our waiter at the fountain machine on her phone. My friend's pizzas were burnt too. I don't know what else to say, but it was not "FAMOUS." My favorite pizza place!! Their house salad and dressing is so delicious, comes with cheese bread and their pepperoni pizza is not skimpy on the pepperonis! Jo's is becoming my go-to takeout pizza. It blows any chain out of the water. It's about the same price, too. Is it the best pizza in Oklahoma, or even Edmond? No, probably not. Is it one of the best *to go* pizza places in Edmond? Absolutely. It's not gourmet wood-fired Italian pies. It's Americanized takeout, but it does Americanized takeout incredibly well. It knows what it is, it stays in its lane. The crust is delicious, "buttery" is a good word for it. Light but substantial, it has actual flavor. It's not just a vehicle for the toppings, to me it's the star. There's always a good amount of cheese, slightly brown and bubbly. I usually get hamburger beef on my pizza here, and it's always very high quality and in big chunks. Keep on keepin' on, Jo's. You're doing great. read more
