Went on July 25,2026 because we had it once and been craving it ever since. We get there and it's closed saying On Vacation until 8/18!!! We were devastated lol. Their pizza has left an ever lasting memory on our taste buds. We loved the old school vibe of ordering at the counter in a neighborhood bakery. It's literally in a neighborhood and almost missed it. We went at 930am last time and they ran out of pepperoni pizza, chocolate chip cookies and other things I wanted to try... so go early!! Enjoy!!! Street parking available.

What a Gem! I was looking for an authentic Italian Bakery for rolls and found Joe's on Yelp. I traveled to.San Pedro as it is a hrrat place for Italian food and Bakeries. OMG so glad I found this place! Rosa (one of the owners).greeted me as I walked in. Very friendly and helpful. She's the real deal from Italy,.and has been working there for 48 years! Her husband started the bakery a few years before that. Truly a Mom and Poo family owned and run business. I stopped in just before closing and happy to know they still had what I came for, 4 dozen rolls! They were freshly baked too! There were still a few goodies in their cage and I picked up some Italian Cookies (with lemon glaze). Outstanding and very large! Prices were very reasonable especially for the quality. Note - cash or check only! Bring cash! Check the hours out as they open early and close at 2pm. The store is tucked in a residential area with lots of street parking. There's a 15 min spot right out in front. Very small store front with one bakery case but looks like a larger bakery in the back. Excellent bakery and definitely plan to back, especially to chat with Rosa!

Omg when I tell you the quality of these baked goods are out of this world. I can not believe I have never been here before. The best item here is the cheese pizza (will go back to try the pepperoni) got a brownie and chocolate chip cookie. The cookie! omfg I wish I did not gobble the whole thing in one sitting. I didn't catch the friendly workers name but looks family owned & recognized him from an old newspaper they had on the wall. He mentioned we can always call ahead so when we get there we don't have to wait. I will be back tysm!

Pretty minimal retail area, but all is packed up well.

My 1st time stopping there after so many trips to Daniel's Field for football and soccer. A hidden treasure in San Pedro and worth a trip off the main streets! Various types of baked goods - my son said the lemon bars seemed to have real lemon zest and flavor. Brownies await and look great. I came for the pizza and am sure it will not disappoint. George was a great host and seems like a true fan of San Pedro sports and schools! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The retail space is a bit tight, but there's a tv with sports in it and a counter to see baked goods.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We got in at a quiet minute then back-to-back-to-back order pick ups arrived do it is still popular.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Street parking. The store is really carry out only and cash - no cards accepted - but a couple of other electronic payments are good - ask

Went to JB on Saturday around 07:00. Got a slice of cheese pizza ($3.00) and some croissants ($1.25 each). I liked the pizza. Nice mild sauce. The cheese was gooey. The crust was more of a thin type with good texture. The croissant is not the French style. It's more like a tasty dinner roll with a croissant shape. The inside was nice and airy. There's also a slight sweet glaze on the top. It tasted really good after 15 seconds in the microwave. I also wanted to try their chocolate chip cookies. However, they just sold out and the next batch would not be ready until 09:00. The service was super friendly. JB is located in the middle of a residential street. There's no formal parking so I ended up parking around the corner.

Old pic but just shows how much we love this place and how long we've been coming here!

I want to come back just for the service alone!!!! The food/ baked goods are good, but what I find to be superior here, is the service. You are greeted with the warmest welcome! The sweetest lady was helping me.... I arrived closer to closing and the selection available was minimal, but what they did have, I enjoyed. The brownies are superb!!!! Literally, one of the best brownies I've ever eaten. Maybe, it was because the service was so good, but I thoroughly enjoyed it! The cheese pizza is also yum. Personally, I'd skipped the lemon bar but definitely go for the brownie!!!! Yummy scrumptious! The prices are super reasonable, especially in comparison to other similar establishments, and parking was easy to find. I definitely recommend. : )

Long croissant , delicious!!

We first went to see collosus bakery but left because the prices are insane.for starters .$7 for one cookie. Went to Joseph's bakery up the street instead and the baked goods are delicious. You can taste the authenticity and original pastries are dreamy. Prices are affordable. Please support this establishment.

Neighborhood go to bakery for the longest time. Love it is family owned. Met Rosa, George and Joseph. Always happy and friendly to see them. Their brownies and lemon bars are the best. Their cheese pizza is delicious. It's take out only.

Gabrielle S.

Wonderful family-owned neighborhood bakery! Everything is baked fresh daily, so once they sell out, that's it ...or you'll have to wait while they make more. I met the owner, and she's super friendly, taking time to explain each item. Just a heads up: it's cash only. A true local gem!

Lemon bar

A longtime neighborhood mom and pop bakery in San Pedro thats been around for several decades. Finally got a chance to stop by around 10am on a weekday after the rains cleared up on this current trip. Friendly owners, greeted warmly and had a nice conversation with her and a customer when i walked in. When I arrived most of the pastries were sold out but luckily there was more cheese pizzas in the back. Grabbed a couple slices of the cheese pizzas and 2 lemon bars.... Cash only too which wasnt a problem. Pizzas are straight up legit, the cheese, tomato sauce and crust is straight up awesome and has that timeless feels. Get there early, snooze or lose.....5 stars.

Can I order on website or Ubereats? As for me, it's hard to get up early to get this bread. Sugar rolls look super yummy.

You can call the Bakery at (310) 833-1921 and order whatever you'd like and they will save it for you. You can pick it up at any time during normal business hours. You pay when you pick up.

I'm from the Bay Area but I've been to Cafe Dulce several times. My wife and I really like their Hong Kong Tea Latte and their Matcha drink, as well as their various donuts and baked goods. In the morning rush they can be a little busy but the staff work hard. On a recent visit I saw people eating their steak breakfast burritos, so I ordered one for myself and a coworker. The burritos were reasonable size, the steak was seasoned well, and the breakfast burrito had potatoes in it (I only like breakfast burritos that have potatoes/hash browns/tots in it). Keep supporting the classics, not just because they've been around for a while, but because they have strong products and service.

Mochi Twist ($5)-- Nice and dense mochi texture? I guess it's hard to describe but it's not hollow and airy like a typical donut. There's some chew to it. And it's not too sweet! Blueberry Roti ($4)-- Flaky crumble on top and blueberry jam?? YES YESSSS. I liked this so much I'd definitely go back for it. Blueberry jam is so underrated and it's rare to find it in a pastry! Makes for a good sweet lil treat. Hot latte ($5)-- Perfect!! No complaints. Not too milky, not too light. Good ratio. I was actually kind of worried ordering a latte because not every place does it right but it's good here! Iced blueberry matcha ($6?)-- I see lots of good things about this drink on here but ooooooof... it missed the mark and by a LOOOT too. It was green sweet cereal milk. Where's the matcha? Where's the blueberry? It was so confusing because I see the green and I know I ordered matcha... but it's just sweet milk! And it's not even blueberry flavored milk. Did they forget the blueberry jam? Syrup? Whatever they use? Because it just tastes like the milk after a bowl of Frosted Flakes or something like that. Very sad, very disappointing. Ended up tossing after a couple sips. ANDDD for those matcha purists this is NOOOT the place for you! They have it pre mixed in a milk gallon. So we just saw green milk coming out of a gallon into this cup like yeppppp ok expectations immediately lowered. Anyways, hot latte is good and the 2 pastries I got were good! Steer clear of the matcha!!!

It's relatively busy but the line moved swiftly. The Larchmont store was pretty lively with the crowded and colorful wall deco! It's pretty fun to see that they came up with more seasonal items lately and most of them nailed it well when they came to cookies. Previously the lemon one and the most recent was the Raspberry Pistachio which I was impressed by as I just fancied sweet and refreshing combo of white chocolate and raspberry. The pistachio added more texture to it for sure. Same as any Levain cookies, best enjoyed warm and fresh out of oven. The Cookie Milk Latte was actually the main reason bringing me here, yet I was bit let down by it as I was expecting more malty cookie flavor in the drink. I felt it tasted not much different to regular cream top latte with some cookie crumbles in it.

Downside is that I first tried the fish panini years ago and it was a bit better then, but it's still good currently. Other pastries I've tried here have been pretty good. They had some various buns with mochi inside, and those were great. Another one of my fave is their mentaiko salt bun. Great flavor, though I wish they would stuff the thing with more mentaiko. Honestly, I think it's even better than the famous spot everyone talks about. My favorite is the corn cheese, it's especially delicious when it's warm. I also tried the Korean chamoe (melon) smoothie, and it was very refreshing. It tasted like they used real melon, since there was a slight natural tanginess that made it even better. I got a sausage bbang, a chocopie, and a dalgona latte. The sausage bbang was soggy on the bottom and honestly tasted like it was from the day before. The chocopie barely had any filling, just a thin layer of marshmallow and jam. It honestly felt like they used most of the marshmallow for their Dubai choco cookie because it's probably more profitable, instead of properly filling the chocopie. If that's the case, it's better not to sell it at all than serve something like that. The dalgona latte was also disappointing. With ice, the drink only filled to the bottom third line of the cup marking. Clearly, they skimped on the milk. There was also a weird moment when I paid. My total was $15.25 and I paid cash, but I was given $4.75 in change. When I said it should be $5, she seemed confused and asked what I meant. I told her I literally gave you a quarter right now, and she questioned it before eventually giving me the correct change. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt and assume it was a mistake. I understand times are hard, but charging more for products that clearly had corners cut doesn't sit right with me. It just comes across like there's no integrity. Clearly the quality and portions are going downhill. I wasn't even planning on writing this review. I was going to stay quiet, but the chocopie really ticked me off.
