This location has been in this community for over 50+years serving crunchy chicken tacos, today they serve a variety of foods & favorite combo plates, they have limited indoor seating and a very small parking lot.

$3.00 for a small 2oz cup of plain pico de gallo!! Yikes
    South B.

Haven't been to this place in a very long time. I used to come here back in the days over 15-20 years ago.. Lived in the city all my life and even went to the schools in the area. I pass by this street all the time and today I decided to pay them a visit. Not sure if the owners have changed overtime but they used to sell a big cup of salsa and bag of chips for cheap and the salsa was homemade. This time, it was different. The cashier girl wasn't friendly. I even made a conversation trying to be nice but didn't get the same feedback in return. I even said I used to frequent the place back then and went to school down the street. She didn't smile and was not impressed. I asked about the salsa, the sizes and pricing. There was back and forth conversation but a lot of things weren't clear. I even kept telling her I wanted a half pint of the salsa and pointed at the container and she jotted something down. I don't think she knows what a half pint is. She stated that pico de gallo were for chips and the hot salsa was for other things. I know what the difference is. What they had was plain pico de gallo made with just chopped tomatoes and cilantro and onions. It wasn't what it used to be. It used to be homemade blended salsa. Fast forward when the order arrived, I looked in the small brown paper bag to see two small containers. One for a $2 sauce and the other for $3 small container. They charged $3 for a small 2oz pico de gallo??? NO WAY. We thought we paid for more than that. Immediately wanted to return it upon seeing the receipt. Literally just stepped out 10 seconds out the door and walked back in to return it. The girl called the owner from the back and she said they don't take refunds but they'd do it this time. Owner said it was from the health department that they're not supposed to take back food. Ummm we never touched the food we literally just stepped out the door and she was saying things that were unrelated to why we were returning it. It was overly priced! Owner said they don't do refunds but they'd do it this time only. We know that taking back food is not sanitary. We weren't asking them to put it back into their inventory. That's common sense. We returned the salsa for a refund. They can throw it away. But it seems the business was not able to afford throwing out a small 2oz little container of pico de gallo.. and made up an excuse about it not sanitary to return. Do they put it back into their kitchen? Also, they said they don't give sauce for tamales. WHAT? I've never seen a place nickel and dime everything that doesn't accompany tamales with a free small sauce...When asked she said it doesn't come with one. They charge. It was a $2 little a** cup. That is soo sad..even the tamale guy at the farmers market gives a handful for free.

Chicken Taco, carnitas taco, beans and rice

Just as I remembered it from 30 years ago, the chicken tacos were just absolutely fantastic. The beans and the rice were also great. Also added the Carnitas tacos a little dry, but still pretty good.

I got the (2) rolled taquitos and (3) beef tacos dorados. Everything was freshly made and hot! Service was good and fast. Personally, I like the salsas with a little more kick.

    Crispy chicken tacos

The crispy chicken tacos here are the best I've ever had! They are reasonably priced and quite large. The hot salsa that they have is really good also. I smother these tacos in the sauce and go ham. Chicken tacos come topped with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Add some salt and it's crack-a-lackin! I ordered 50 of these bad boys ahead of time and got them in 40 minutes. This is a small, family owned business, and I have moved away from gardena, but still come here for the chicken tacos. It's small with limited seating so I have always ordered for take out.

Chili verde burrito and it's a special on Fridays 9.95

So I stopped by as I had some time to kill around the area my buddy suggested this place . Let me tell you this place is smackiiiiiiin the chili verde burrito tasted like my grandma made it ! I also got a shredded beef hard taco super fire . The service is good to inside it's pretty small so I suggest ordering to go . You won't go wrong as far as authentic Mexican food looks like they got some abuelitas cooking in the back .

    Shoe leather dry ass chicken.

What happened to this place? I ordered $200 of tacos for the office. Chicken and shredded beef were like shoe leather. No joke. This used to be the spot. So disappointed. Never again.

Wet Burrito (Chicken), Wednesday special for $10 w/ a drink!

Good food. Great service, only take out. I love spicy salsa, need a hotter salsa. Other than that fast service. Very nice people.

The tacos here are definitely the best. I always get the ground beef with no tomatoes. When I need a good taco fix this is the place.

Ended up ordering burritos, tamales, enchiladas, hard and soft shell tacos, etc. - Tamales were the best. Meaty carnitas - burrito was next best. Meaty, not too much filling. I'm from NM so love the wet style. It bugged me that you have to pay extra for Christmas style. Who really likes getting charged for a lick of sauce? How much does that sauce really cost the business? Look, I walked away and I still remember you wanted to charge me some nominal fee for the sauce. I told my friends. Now I'm telling my friends on Yelp. The owner should read up on pricing psychology. He probably doesn't want to be known as the guy who charges for sauce, is my guess. - Chicken taco was a nice size and tasted ok - enchiladas were mid Salsa is only free for the first 2 servings. Even for a table of 4, that bugged me. Again, he's known now as the guy who nickels and dimes. Sigh. Ambiance is dark inside like a pub. It would look more modern and family friendly with more natural light. As most would expect out of a restaurant. We came here during a World Cup game. The game was on. That was a plus We were thinking of coming back to order the family pack. Then no one at home would charge me extra for the salsa. ha!! I read just now in another review that this place charges for hot water. Ok then, the owners is STRIVING to be the nickel and dime people. Yelpers are talking and people are listening. Do yourselves a favor and reverse these dumb pricing practices. You'll never know the business you are losing for the $2 here and $3 there. It's never worth it!

We normally get the carne asada/pollo fries and they're awesome. Fries are cooked perfectly (I swear there was a period of time where they coated the fries and that wasn't it, but thankfully they stopped), comes with the usual toppings like guacamole, onions, cilantro, etc. They top it with a hefty amount of juicy meat - both carne asada and pollo options are solid. Recently though I've been straying from fries and getting different dishes like the chicken flautas, enchiladas, and mulitas. Chefs kiss for each one. The rice and beans + salsa combo are also flavorful and pair nicely with the entree.

The wet burrito was the star of my visit, big, saucy, and exactly the kind of comfort bomb you want from a spot like this. The red sauce had that perfect balance of savory and tangy, and the burrito itself was stuffed generously. Every bite was so good, so delicious! And the tacos.....Fire. The homemade tortillas make all the difference, soft, warm, and with that fresh‑masa aroma that tells you they didn't come from a plastic bag. No... no... no! They hold up beautifully to the fillings without falling apart, and they add this subtle sweetness that elevates everything. Chips and salsa were simple but solid. The chips had a good crunch, and the salsa tasted fresh, bright, and not overly blended, the kind you keep dipping into even when you tell yourself you're "saving room for the burrito."
