Went in for a little pizza snack. The prices are a Bit high but the pizza was fulfilling and tasty. Was hoping for a bit more toppings but it's not a bad snackie snack.

If you like Detroit style pizza, this one fits the bill. They have inside and outside seating and the place is clean. Solid service that answers all your questions and service is quick. They have Boylan soda here and it's tasty. The pizza is made perfectly and is delicious. The prices are reasonable in this day and age but it's worth it.

I tried a vintage one here--it was really delicious, and it's different in size from the others.

I know my pizzas as I grew up eating pizza on the East Coast and also ate my way thru a lot NYC pizzas all through my late 20s and 30s, so when I tell you a slice is good or bad, its from years of eating some of the best pizzas in the US. This place failed me on so many levels and I absolutely hate writing bad reviews but this place just did not live up to even a random $1.50 slice you can find anywhere in NYC. After having a snack of raw oysters nearby, I wanted a nice hearty slice of pizza and when Yelp pulled this place up for me, I was quite excited. A girlfriend of mine introduced me to some really good Detroit style pizza, so I was looking forward to trying this place out. I came in a little after 7:30pm and nary a soul in here, which should have been a sign. The woman who rung me up was nice but it was clear she couldn't understand much English, so when I needed a paper copy of my receipt, she had to call in another worker for help. I waited about 15 min for my order and then it was ready. I took it back to the hotel I was staying at and was ready to enjoy a good slice. Unfortunately, it wasnt very good. Besides the looks of the pizza, nothing else really passed. The toppings had no flavor, crust was also bland. The personal pan was super soggy, which is exactly how I HATE my pizzas. And for the price, which was close to $20 with tax and tip, it was just lousy. A pie this size shouldn't be more than $10, and also the taste just wasn't there. Needless to say, I won't be back. They get two stars because the lady helping me was nice and did her best to help me despite our language barriers.

After a music event and hours of dancing; my friend and I were famished. We decided to get some of the well-deserved pizza and to my ecstatic surprise they offered a lot of vegan options; including imitation meats. I ordered the "eat your veggies" pizza - personal size. It was ready very quickly and it was delicious. I would like to go back again soon and different one. They also have alcoholic beverages, sides and desserts. CC accepted Bathroom available. Outside and indoor seats.

Joyride is legit Detroit style pizza. I may still be partial to square pie guys, but joyride is still a great substitute. My go to is the green goddess that has a swirl of ricotta on top. The pizza flavors are inventive and the location on embarcadero is beautiful. Big plus is they're also on Too Good To Go!

Great pizza. I got the buffalo pizza and it was deep dish. I really liked the crust and sauce ratio. The one thing I will say is the buffalo has a ton of buffalo sauce, so be ready for a kick of flavor because I didn't expect it to be drenched the way it was, but it was really good and I would definitely get the pizza again. This location is right by the Ferry Building, so it's an amazing place to grab some pizza, sit outside, and watch the water. Great location, great pizza, punchy flavors, and super friendly staff.

Finally got to try this place! Lots of locations. Went by for their happy hour $5 deals! Got the pep slice, wings, and garlic knots! Definitely worth it! Loved the thick pepperonis, garlic knots were garlicky, and wings were great with the buffalo sauce, nice kick of spice. We loved the ranch too! Great portion sauces. Definitely would come back! Service was kind and welcoming. Place is nice nearby the water. Plenty of seating.

Stopped by during my lunch hour because I was really craving pizza and I've walked by here so many times that it was about time I try this spot. Casual ambiance with lots of indoor and scenic outdoor seating and very friendly service! I definitely came at the right time because there was no wait so my order came out fast. I tried the sausage and shrooms personal pizza, which was two slices. The pizza had a lot going for it: crust was crispy and the sauce was flavorful. Overall, it was definitely tasty and satisfying. But I had a hard time justifying the price. It was $16 + tax (~$18) for two medium-ish slices, which felt a bit steep for what I received. While the quality was there, I was expecting something more unique or standout in terms of flavor at that price. The portion size was also a little smaller than I had hoped. It's solid pizza overall but for me, the value unfortunately didn't quite match the cost.

Came here after the lunch rush, 1:45 pm. We ordered 2 of their lunch specials, a Caesar salad with chicken, one combo personal pizza, and some drinks. There was a misunderstanding on what we ordered, so when we got our food I didn't get a chance to snap a photo. The salad was ok, I wouldn't order it again. Their pizza was really good though, especially the combo. We paid $90 for 4 people, seemed a bit steep for the food we got. This was within walking distance of where we were at so it was convenient. But I don't think I'd come back again with so many other places to choose from at the Ferry Building.

Well on a recent trip to SF,I found myself with some time to kill before my event started, after coming down from Sacramento and skipping breakfast,I was ready to eat when I got to the Ferry Building area. After looking around a bit,I saw a few of my favorite spots at the Ferry Building but I also saw a new spot,at least for me and I had to try it-I walked over to JoyRide Pizza to give them a try. No car to speak of on this trip,so parking not an issue but for others who do drive, this location is not for people in cars, this is for people who are walking up and down the piers as a walk in spot. I took a look at the menu and since there were 3 of us I decided to go with a large Meatzza($29.00) and a small Supreme($16.00)This place features Detroit-Style Pizza,so even though 2 of us in the party are pretty big eaters, this style pizza truly goes a long way,it's so dense and heavy. So when the pizza arrived I quickly realized mistakes were made, this was way too much pizza for us and since we had no means to bring it with us because the event we were going to had a "No Food" policy,I thought we're in trouble. Also I realized our 2 pizzas were very similar and with all the great options available to order,I should've had a bit more creativity when ordering. That being said-that pizza was dynamite-they have damn near perfected the Detroit-Style pizza recipe right here at this spot located in one of the most touristy spots in the city-that's rare, most of these spots located in touristy spots just mail it in because they know the customers are coming regardless, but not these guys, their product is pretty top notch-the flavors, the cheese, the seasonings, the sauce-they didn't miss a box, checked em all.I was highly impressed. I've always had a favorite pizza spot in SF,one I visit just about every visit, the thing is though my favorite spot is not convenient,it's located way out of the ways, this JoyRide pizza is so much more convenient and a pretty high level,I think I may have found my new spot for a pizza fix whenever I'm visiting the city. I forgot to mention we did get a beer with our meals-I got their IPA($9) and my brother got a pilsner($9)-They were a good enough partner to go with our heavy meal. In closing,if u find yourself near the Ferry Building in SF and want to try some really good Detroit-Style pizza,I would say give these guys a try-they are pretty good. PS-One last thing-I noticed while walking around the city later on that they have multiple locations-I can't really vouch for their other locations, but I can for sure recommend the Ferry Building spot-Be Kind out there...

Wow! This place has one of the best pizza sauce I've had in a while. Ordered the supreme along with the sausage and shrooms pizza (added ricotta). It did take a while for the food to come out but it was well worth the wait. The sauce is savory and flavorful, you can really taste the quality of each topping. Overall a 10/10 for deep dishes and I'm not usually a deep dish fan but I'd come back and order this again.

One of the best Detroit style pizzas I've tasted in the Bay Area hands down. I was walking around looking for a place to eat and this place really stood out. That said, ordered the "eat your veggies" from their menu and added vegan pepperoni. A little on the pricy side especially for the sizes they serve it in. But other than that, an amazing stop for sure! Service was amazing and the ambience was photo worthy! Enjoy their pizzas while you're at the Bay Area

STOP. DROP. EAT…read more This place is an absolute gem. Food: We started with the clams and mussels, and they were phenomenal. Do yourself a favor and soak every last bit of that broth up with the bread--you won't regret it. Don also surprised us with complimentary scallops, and wow... next-level fresh. Some of the best seafood I've had. Drinks: Hands down the best margaritas I've had in California so far. I also watched Don make a Bloody Mary, and it was like watching someone craft a work of art. Every ingredient was intentional, and you could tell it was made with genuine care. Service: This deserves to be at the top because it's what made the experience unforgettable. Halfway through our meal, I realized my incredible bartender was actually the owner. Don is one of the most humble, genuine, and welcoming people you'll ever meet. His sons and daughter all work in the restaurant, and there's even a photo on the wall of his great-grandfather smoking a cigar while cooking crabs. This isn't just a restaurant--it's generations of family, tradition, and passion served on every plate. You can feel the heart behind this place the moment you walk in. Thank you, Don, for the outstanding hospitality, the amazing conversation, and a meal we'll be talking about for a long time. We'll definitely be back.

However, the clam chowder tasted much more like potato chowder than clam chowder, with very little clam flavor. The bread was served warm, but it quickly became chewy, which made it seem like it had been heated in a microwave rather than baked fresh. What stood out the most was the condition of the restaurant. It looked run-down, dated, and, unfortunately, not very clean. After many years of enjoying this place, this was the first time I noticed how much it seems to have declined. I hope management takes the time to refresh the restaurant and improve the overall cleanliness because it has always been one of my go-to spots, and I'd like to see it return to the quality it once had.

I had the clam chowder twice, and it was just perfect--creamy, with lots of clams and potatoes. And then there is the **Boudin sourdough bread**, with that wonderful, distinctive "sour" flavor that seems to be missing from so many sourdough breads these days. One evening, we shared the **Mixed Seafood Grill**, which was amazing: wild-caught shrimp and three kinds of fresh fish--black cod, halibut, and salmon--served with salad and fresh vegetables. We started with the organic beet salad, with both red and gold beets. On another visit, I had the **Dungeness crab cake appetizer with a bowl of clam chowder**, which made a delicious and surprisingly hearty dinner. I was lucky enough to have **Tom as our waiter twice**, and he won my heart with a small act of kindness. At the end of dinner, I asked if he could wrap up my two remaining pieces of sourdough bread. When I opened the package later, I discovered he had tucked in a few extra pieces for me. I brought them home and was able to enjoy a little taste of San Francisco for several more days. Thank you, Tom! I also love that Scoma's hasn't tried to turn itself into another sleek, modern restaurant. The **old-school, vintage 1960s-1970s atmosphere** is part of its charm: waiters in white jackets, dark wood paneling, brown leather or vinyl seating, brass details, warm amber-glass lighting, wrought-iron dividers, and crisp white tablecloths. Walking into Scoma's feels a little like stepping back in time. For me, it was even more special because it brought back memories of **California days with my family when I was growing up**. Wonderful seafood, warm hospitality, sourdough that actually tastes sour, and an atmosphere with a real sense of history. There is a reason we came back three times.
