The short answer is I will absolutely go back to this place as long as there is a parking space to be had.

No need to go to El Pollo Loco if there's this one around. I was visiting my friend's house in La Habra and he took me to this location. Huge portions by the way. Juan Pollo is just better. Generous portions and they throw those lemons in the bag. I like it because it is much more consistent in flavor as well. It's really hard to predict if the chicken will be good at the ehem. other location. Great find! The salsas are just as good, same type of sides and what not. First time there. Heard a lot about this new spot, decided to cater a party my friend was having. $120 dollars later treated badly buy the rude lady working up front, half of us ended up with food poising and missing 2 to 3days of work! I called to tell them about it and the same rude lady answered the phone and called me crazy and that I was lying and just wanted free food! DO NOT EAT HERE!! NASTY EMPLOYEES, purposely putting their black hair in the potato salad. I wasted damn near $60 here because all that food went in the trash. Today was different and I'm writing in hopes that maybe our experience will be heard and help avoid situations like this in the future. At 5pm today I used the app to place an order and selected the drop down option of pick up at 6:30pm since that was the earliest I could get there. At 5:53 I received a text telling me my food was ready to pick up. Which meant that the hot burger would sit for almost 40 minutes and the salad with hot ahi tuna would sit and get the salad warm for 40 minutes until I arrived. I called the phone number listed for the store and was stuck in a web of AI answering. Everything I asked to speak to someone I was told by AI that I could leave a message or go to the website. I kept insisting to speak to someone and after the fifth time it finally put me through to someone in person. Not at the store. Apparently there is no direct line to the store anymore. The best the person could tell me was to go at 6:30 and ask them to remake it while I wait longer. I hurried to get there by about 6:15 and asked to speak to the manager. I tried to explain as politely as possible, but my concern was brushed aside with a dismissive, "We'll remake it for you. Hold on." In lieu of any sort of apology or owning of the problem, he said (direct quote), "Well, another lady just before you had the opposite problem." I have no idea what that meant or how it was an answer to my situation. He also told me, "The order came through and we just made it." When I asked if that was normal when you order through the app and specify a time, he reluctantly acknowledged it wasn't supposed to happen that way. So as I waited, he came over and asked, "What dressing do you want? It says no dressing." I double checked my order on the app and it clearly said "Ranch dressing: no change." So I'm not sure what made him think I hadn't ordered dressing. When I opened the order to check, the ahi tuna that was supposed to be seared was cooked well done all the way through and dry like chicken, but by that time I had just gotten home. We will still keep eating at the Habit. We really like it. My hope is that the manager would hear our experience and consider a different approach to hearing regular customers who offer a legitimate concern and constructive feedback. Additionally: when we opened what was supposed to be a bbq bacon char it was a single char with no bacon or cheese or bbq sauce.

What is most frustrating is the lack of common sense and customer service. Had the staff simply prepared the one whole chicken I ordered while continuing to work on the larger order, I likely would have been served and gone on my way without issue. Instead, I was left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time with no apparent effort to accommodate a paying customer who was physically in the restaurant. This experience highlights a problem that many businesses overlook: customers remember how they are treated. Even if the food is excellent, poor customer service leaves a lasting impression. Unfortunately, instead of leaving satisfied, I am leaving this review because of how poorly this situation was handled. Management should consider providing additional training and empowering staff to make reasonable customer-service decisions.
