Came to this little juice shop on a weekday afternoon. The women who were working seemed quite busy when we came in, so it took a few minutes to get our order in. Other than that, I was impressed by the items on their list! I like that they have a few variations of acai to choose from. I ordered the original Acai bowl, and it tasted great!! I ordered their original Acai bowl and my fiancé ordered the green lemonade. The original Acai bowl comes in this huge cup with granola, fresh strawberries, pineapple, and bananas. It's okay. Doesn't really have taste to the Acai. But the fruit makes it taste a little better. The green lemonade my fiancé ordered was really good! I can taste the ginger and the juiced lemon. That's right, As good as it gets. I don't go to the kaboose often. I went yesterday, and I went in this morning. The guy knew what I would ask for.... who remembers that stuff in one visit. That's great service. He also recommended some health shots to improve my day. He lined up the shots and told me what to expect from each. The Ginger, spicy. Absolutely right. The wheat grass, not his favorite (taste), but the algae was a nasty surprise. Ick! I got a lesson in health and natural healing. Accidentally found this place while looking for Pizza Pronto. Everything else was closed due to Thanksgiving so decided on eating here. What a pleasant accident. Ordered the veggie sandwich (made jain - no onion, no garlic, no potato) and a fresh OJ. Got mustard on the side. Perfect sandwich and zingy mustard sauce. The OJ was extremely refreshing as well. My friend ordered the hummus sandwich with the chocolate milkshake which was also very good. We took our food to-go and ate our lunch overlooking the La Jolla Coves. Perfect lunch !! Yay Juice Kaboose!!! Thanks for making lunch perfect today! I come in to order the lunch platter, I didn't want the tuna, instead chicken. I was told those two can't be sub'd which was fine I was willing to pay extra. But instead of just having the empty tuna gap, I was offered extra hummus! And their hummus is sooo good and creamy! I'm literally at work forking it! The smoothies are always good. Sometimes they use too much ice, but that is fine. Very reasonably priced for the area too! Had an acai bowl here. The acai bowl was watery, reminded me of how mine come out when I try to make one at home. The granola is more like rice crispy texture. I prefer the bowls to be thicker. They also added Disappointed. $9 for one. read more

This is the only place where I can find a pleasant smoothie. Everything at this juice bar is organic and extremely tasty. The staff was very professional and one of the owners' Rohan assured me I was getting a healthy smoothie. I've tried the popular juice bars around here - and this one is by far my favorite and most consistent. I love ginger and always ask them to 'make my throat burn' and they never disappoint! Went there today, and he even offered to juice more if it wasn't enough for me (but it was and fabulously so). My mom and sister always ask if we can go here when they visit. Mom got a Kappa Smoothie with ginger that was fantastic, a wheat grass shot and we grabbed my husband a Super-7, which of course I had to taste. Everything is organic and the great flavor shows it. Their hummus and tuna is delightful and the platter comes with both and pita bread, yum! I've enjoyed everything I've had here, fresh, delicious and they don't mind changing their recipes, which I love! 5 stars for probably THE BEST acai I've tasted in SD. Came twice the first week I discovered Juice Kaboose! The consistency is perfectly thick and smooth, the fruit incredibly fresh, and located in a tiny shop in downtown LJ. Only downside is how expensive it is. The smaller size contains only 1/2 of the cup filled with the acai blend, and the other 1/2 with strawberries, banana, granola and mango. The large size (around $10+), is the whole cup filled with acai blend, with another cup 1/2 full with fruit. For the price you pay at most other places, other places give you 2x more. Parking can be found along the street for free. Enjoy! read more

I have been on a (weaksauce) search for the best acai bowl in San Diego. I felt a lot of pressure because I am leaving the country this week and haven't yet found it. So to tie up loose ends, I researched hard and thought that JUST MAYBE I will find it here in La Jolla. Ohmygosh. I found it. THEIR ACAI BOWLS ARE AMAZING. And seem like a really good value! The portions are generous (advice: if you can eat like a champ, or are sharing with a friend or two, get the large size! It's HUGE). The fruit is SO FRESH. How is their fruit so good? What have I been eating? Theirs is so good! They blend their acai so well! I hate when it's all watery, but theirs is creamy (blended with soy I believe! That is my preference), but this is sooo smooootthhh and creamy. Their granola is also really delicious. They put in a couple of layers because if it's only on top, it gets eaten before the acai is all gone. The service is REALLY GOOD too. The workers are really friendly and know their stuff, and have good relationships and a seemingly loyal customer base (I can see why!). Stop your search for delicious acai (and probably smoothies too) and come here! SO DELICIOUS! read more

From the Acai bowl looking like poop juice, to the angry lady making bowls/food without any gloves, this place was a nightmare! They barely had any of the ingredients on the menu, they couldn't get our order right, and the scary boss lady was horrible to deal with and yelled at all the employees. I love acai bowls, I could eat them everyday. I often drop by to pick one up on the way to the beach. Loveeee that everything is so so fresh, especially the fruit! Ordered 2 turkey sandwiches one with no tomato. ... what do u know... got 2 sandwiches BOTH with tomato. I would had asked for a cup of ice but who knows how long it would had taken. Very tasty bowls with some interesting sounding combinations. We were safe and conservative and just got the "acai" and the "pitaya" standard bowls. Both were quite delicious, the acai bowl probably being the favorite. But I've never really liked dragonfruit anyway; it doesn't seem to have a ton of taste. Maybe it's nutritious; who knows. The shop here is in a nice little location in La Jolla with some bushes and trees. Better to sit outside or take it to go because of the noise of the blenders. I can't believe I forgot to review Juice Kaboose! It's been a few weeks since I had an acai bowl from there, and I find myself wishing I had another one all the time. SO delicious! And their acai smoothie is really good, too. They use all fresh fruit (the guy working there said it's delivered daily) and you can definitely tell the difference in the taste of the smoothies. Very fresh! The acai bowl is topped with tons of freshly chopped fruit. The guy working there was very nice & helpful, and the place is really clean. I will definitely be back, and I recommend checking them out! They also have a great selection of high protein entrees, including ones for vegetarians. I'd like to try them someday. read more
