As a health conscious person/parent I went to go get an açaí bowl and when i was waiting for my bowl i noticed the worker open a brand new can of skippys lowfat peanut butter, i then looked at the menu and saw they are advertising organic peanut butter. Skippy is definitely NOT organic and filled with extra ingredients. I don't appreciate the FALSE ADVERTISING and I doubt ill be back after today, you are poisoning people by feeding them high fructose corn syrup and lying about it to save a couple dollars , terrible business ethics read more

I went here yesterday with a friend. This is a small little juice and açaí bar close to the beach. I ordered the "Ironman" açaí bowl for the purpose of the blueberries and peanut butter that were extra add ins. I was really disappointed that there were no blueberries and I would have never even have know peanut butter was in there so I question if it was even added. The guy working the register was really nice, I'm not sure if he was the manager. The price is steep at $10 for a bowl but it was a pretty decent amount. I'm pretty disappointed and probably won't be back for the fact that it's pricey and there are other places around where you will get all the ingredients you pay for. read more

Every time I visit San Diego, I always visit Juice Kaboose. I usually get the Pitaya Bowl and that's plenty enough to share with my fiancé. It comes with bananas, strawberry, and pineapple. But you can substitute your fruit toppings with a different fruit. On my most recent visit, I did notice that the portion size did decrease. What used to be half a cup of all Pitaya blended, is now only 1/4 of the cup. Felt kinda jipped after getting it. I've been going to juice kaboose for years now and am very disappointed by the quality of it now. Most of the original workers that were there before have quit and have been replaced by new, unfriendly workers that seem to not really know what they are doing. I used to go to this place at least five times a week and brought countless numbers of my friends to this place (who are all now aboard the acai bowl bandwagon) but now I have decided to switch to another juice bar. I usually get the anti oxidant smoothie or acai bowl or pitaya bowl here. Here's why I am now unsatisfied with this location: -They now premake all of the bases for the bowls and have it stored in the fridge and then just take it out and top it by order. So the base isn't smooth like before when they used to make it fresh. It's now a more frosty texture and I really dislike that. -the workers frequently mess up my order and I had to remind them several times while they were making my order of the changes that I requested for my drinks/bowls when I ordered. -they were usually very friendly esp to regulars but now they do not seem to care about maintaining a regular clientele base because they have become popular over the years. I may have high expectations, considering that I am in love with acai bowls. Juice Kaboose, undoubtedly, does a decent job of making good acai bowls; however, if I'm craving acai bowls, they aren't from here. Don't get me wrong! They are good, taste fresh, and have great ingredients. I just feel like Juice Kaboose is missing that extra hint of flavor that a place in Irvine does better (but obviously, I can't get that here). Out of the places in La Jolla, Juice Kaboose does a good job of providing you with a refreshing acai bowl. You get a lot of fruits, including strawberries, mangoes, and banana. Delicious and crunchy granola to top it off. And some of that acai smoothie goodness. The acai part taste really fresh and makes you feel healthy. You get a decent portion for a good price, and you don't leaving feeling overly or under-satisfied. My favorite place for an acai bowl! First of all, I am quite the stickler for acai bowls. I don't like it thick like ice cream I like a more smoothie texture and Juice Kaboose does it just the way I like it. My favorite acai bowl here is the Rise and Shine-- it's an acai bowl with cocoa and espresso powder so it tastes a little chocolatey while you still get the amazing taste of acai! I love to mix up all the fruit and granola so it's all coated in the acai-chocolate beautifulness and I can literally just drink it all up. No need to get the big size, the regular should fill you right up! You can even call in advance so you can pick up and get going! I'm not sure how many MMA fans/health nuts there are reading this, but for those that don't know the Acai berry is the Amazon's latest marketable superfood and is extremely popular in Brazil, so much so that many Brazilian MMA fighters are sponsored by Acai companies. So 7-8 years ago I first heard of Acai and soon met people working for Sambazon, probably the largest Acai company here in the states. Gradually every juice spot and health food place was carrying an acai bowl, a smoothie or something. Much like Noni juice was all the craze 15 years ago. Personally I like Acai more than Noni and find more benefits personally, plus it's more versatile What originally brought me to the Kaboose was the name. Anyone willing to put booty in their name has got my vote. With everyone juicing or going organic I find it refreshing to play with flavor combinations like ginger and wheatgrass to go along with the usual. The acai bowl here is good, one of the better one's I've had and the hemp granola topping I find it filling and refreshing, but with trends these days Acai has been replaced by the super pink super fruit Pitaya. I'm excited about. I like the almond milk and add coconut where I don't like the soy milk in the acai, but I get that replaced. Central American cactus like dragon fruit tastes like pear and kiwi and the seeds have Omega 3 oils. Pound for pound, dollar for dollar, nutrient dense the Pitaya wins in the war over Acai. The Pitaya smoothie uses OJ which I don't like, it's an overload of Vitamin C, but the Acai uses Apple juice which is super sweet. I actually have them replace and use Almond Milk because who needs all that sugar. Love their lunch platter. Hummus, albacore, pita, cucumbers, tomato with a side of fruit. Handy for snacking at your desk. Lets just say I like their turkey and I like their tuna. Either melted, wrapped or any variety. I could use a dipping sauce for the wraps, just a light something, except for the California which has beans and is hearty on it's own. Service is great, it's quick, easy to get in and out and a favorite for locals and healthy living. Lines move fast if there ever is one. Their menu is simple and not too overwhelming. Diverse enough for the everyday. Prices are a hair more, but they for sure don't skimp. Protip: Pitaya is the new Acai. read more

They don't just have acai bowls, they have pitaya as well! they have so many selections of both acai and pitaya. Their regular size ranges between $7-8. Their mega size is $15 I believe and it's 2 of the regulars. I love dragon fruit so I had to get the managua pitaya bowl. It came with strawberries, pineapple and granola. It was delicious. My friend ordered the regular acai bowl. It looked beautiful but her acai wasn't thick like mine. It was liquidy and it tasted bland, like watered down. I think it's because they blend their acai.
