Warm Thai Ginger Peanut Bowl ($13.55) and Maui Wowie Smoothie.
    Ting A.

A healthy and vegan-friendly take-out spot in the second floor of the Seattle Convention Center Arch building. The menu changes regularly and primarily consists of both savory and sweet bowls, smoothies, and juices. Plenty of tables are out front. Visited this spot everyday during a weekend-long convention as it was quite convenient and the food was tasty. Bowls are customizable in choice of protein (including tofu) and base (such as coconut rice, sweet potato, tossed salad, or half-and-half between two) and cost around $13. My favorite was the warm Thai Ginger Peanut Bowl: fresh cilantro + coconut flakes + roasted peanuts + roasted sweet potato + pickled onions + radish + pickled ginger + red pepper. Topped with sweet chili peanut sauce. Others bowls I tried in order of most liked to least: - Taco Bowl - Salmon Lemon Dill Bowl - Meatball Marinara Bowl - Poke Bowl - Gyro Bowl As for the two smoothies that I tried, I liked the Maui Wowie Smoothie more as it incorporated banana so had less of a watery consistency. - Maui Wowie Smoothie: mango, orange, banana, pineapple - Sweet Tart Smoothie: orange, pineapple, strawberry, vanilla

First time at a Juicy Cafe after hearing a friend rave about it, left me a but disappointed. The salad ingredients were surprisingly sparse; since grapefruit was listed as a main flavor was I surprised to find just one small piece. It also was not a very hearty salad for the price. Being this one is in the convention center, prior to our arriving they were feeding a huge team of event-attendees premade salads, which could have explained the scarcity of ingredients in my salad. Also, while I wouldn't say the ingredients were stale, they so weren't very fresh but seemed to be chopped up much earlier in the day. Yeah, I'm a bit picky when the meal is a salad and things just dont seem fresh cut....maybe you wouldn't be. The drink was a smoothie off matcha, almonds and a spritz of rosewater. That was excellent and I'd get again without hesitation if in the area. While inside the convention center, the ambience is outdoorsy, being on the very edge at entrance into Freeway Park. The atrium is filled with real tropical plants and a lot of glass windows with striking views of the some buildings. I'd likely try a different salad next time, but only if in area...not really a place to go out of your way for.

We came in around 1:45pmish and it wasn't crowded. They had an amazing selection of pastries, though I didn't try any. I got their Caramelized Banana Latte to satisfy my sweet tooth, and it wasn't too banana-flavored nor too sweet; the black sesame in it balanced it nicely. I also got the Urban Pesto, which was SO yum. I was little skeptical of the focaccia - sometimes I find it to be too puffy, and thus hard to eat the sandwich - but this had a lovely panini press on it that made it easy to eat. The in-house herby cheese in the sandwich made each bite just that much more delicious. The staff was also super nice and accommodating to my parents' requests and questions. Can't wait to come back to try their other food and bev options!

We got a matcha float with mochi and a hojicha float with mochi. We love the hojicha better. The matcha is prob one of the better I've tasted, but not often you can find hojicha ice cream and milk tea. It was creamy and mildly sweet. So good, refreshing and satisfying! The mochi were ok. It was very bland and not sweet at all. I do prefer my mochi to have a little sweetness to them, like a sweet bite. This was like chewing a bigger non sweet boba ball. So I'd pass on the mochi here and maybe do all ice cream. If ever we're in Seattle would visit again. Update: we came here a few yrs later. The drinks were still good as ever. My husband got a frappe and loved it. We had a salmon bowl which was decent. Not something I would order again here but we were so hungry from traveling and meeting friends, we needed some food. This time no line out the door. We got a seat inside. We came in June this yr, nice weather outside but inside was super hot as they did not run the AC. They had the windows/doors open but no breeze and mosquitos were inside attacking. I can't imagine a good breeze when the cafe is wedged btw two huge buildings. The croissant was on the crispier side, especially with the almond crumble on top it was a bit too cripsy for me, but I tend to like soft and flakey pastries so it's probably a matter of taste. There was a TON of almond filling in the middle. I enjoyed the taste and texture but it was too much filling for me personally. I would have liked more croissant in my croissant, so to say haha. The chocolate was slightly dark which worked well with the sweet pastry and filling! Overall I enjoyed the croissant but it was a tad too heavy on the filling and cripsy/crunchy for me.
