One of the best Chinese food places in this price range. I've tried many places around OC and I keep finding myself coming back to here. The taste of the orange and jalopeno chicken is just amazing. I like to order the combination B, The food always taste good, the customer service is always great. The restaurant is clean, But my personal disappointment is you have to ask, to have a reasonable amount of teriyaki sauce over your chicken, along with soy sauce. That's an extra charge. They give you a good amount of food for the money. UNFORTUNATELY, I ordered 2 chicken dishes (chicken w/ green beans and black pepper chicken). Both of those dishes came with VERY LITTLE chicken and all veggies. I was terribly disappointed. - FOOD I ordered the 3 entree meal with lo mein. LO MEIN it's okay. super oily. ORANGE CHICKEN is decent. It definitely isn't on Panda Express level. It's not crispy at all. Pretty soggy. The pieces are pretty big though. I think it's overly sauced which might be contributing to it being soggy. CHICKEN WITH GREEN BEANS the flavor was great, but I barely got any chicken in my order. super disappointing. I probably got 3-4 pieces of chicken. The rest of it was just green beans. They gave me a lot of it, but... I don't like green beans THAT much. Great customer service as we walked in. Variety felt like a better Panda. Everything was good food that you could tell was made recently and fresh. Loved the food would come here again! We decided to try this place after reading the reviews and overall I'm satisfied! The had a lot of options to choose from (jalapeño chicken, salt and pepper chicken, mushroom chicken) and everything was fresh. The only reason I docked a star was because of the customer service. While I was choosing my second entree, she walked away and started typing on her iPad. She didn't say a word to me my entire order and I ordered 3 two item combos. This review has been out off way too long. The beef fried rice is amazing. I ask them to add jalapeños and they do! Other favorite items from here are orange chicken and chicken fried rice. I usually order delivery through Postmates but I did place an order over the phone and picked up. The food was hot and ready for me. This business is serious about the covid guidelines. I've made this place my local favorite, especially on weekends when I don't wanna cook. The food is great, priced well and within my budget. I love to eat out and each time I ask my girls what do they want for lunch, it's always Jumbo Wok, orange chicken. I like the broccoli beef and the jalapeño chicken. This place is clean and the people who run this place are hard working and open 7 days a week. Kudos to them, I prefer to give my money to mom and pop places. Starbucks is next door which is kinds of nice, I usually get me a frappe after I buy lunch here. I highly recommend it this place, food is great and portions are large. They also give you a reward card that gets stamped each time you come in, after 10 you get a free meal..I always forgot mine but the cashier always reminds me..next time I won't forget. Damn!! The food here is bomb. I had the 2 item combo ($9.49 + tax) and chose the orange chicken and the jalapeño chicken with fried rice and chow mein. SUPER generous portions. The jalapeño chicken was my favorite and I would even drive from LB here just for that alone, nice bite to it. The orange chicken was flavorful as well. My 9 year old was craving Chinese food but wasn't feeling our usual go to spots. Went to doordash to look for nearby Chinese food places and luckily we found this place! We had the orange chicken, beef broccoli, chicken egg rolls and mushroom chicken. All were amazing! Only 1 star off because not a lot of meat in the beef broccoli/ mushroom chicken. I always order the salt N pepper shrimp and today when I ordered it, they gave me the last batch and I asked the female behind the register if I may have a fresher batch due to the batch sitting in the pan looked as tired as I did. She looked at me crazy and just said " oh no. Your batch is fresh". So I said ok and walked out. When starting to eat the shrimp, it was completely mushy and there was no crunch, just soggy shrimp. I forgot to add! The broccoli was frozen broccoli! I could taste that freezer taste. And anyone who cooks knows you don't use frozen veg when trying to make a stir fry. It just won't crisp, it won't become crunchy. Just doesn't work. Anyway, I took home the food and decided to try to fix it. Here's what I did in case anyone else wants to salvage as much as they can to feel like you didn't entirely waste your money -- grab a frying pan big enough to hold all the food loosely (the more space in the pan, the better it will fry). Or, use a smaller pan and add the food in batches. Turn on the pan on medium for a bit, then add some cooking oil and start frying and browning. Add more oil as needed. This made the orange chicken more crunchy and the beef kiiiinda better... the brocolli didn't fry well ofc. When taking off the pieces that are done, put on a plate with a lid on to keep it warm. Jumbo Wok is a Chinese fast food restaurant, taking over the spot where a Quizno's used to be. A 2-item combo is only $5.59. Cool beans, huh? I had the kung pao chicken, which was okay, & the BBQ pork which was great. The employee chopped it up right in front me after I selected it. The fried rice was also satisfactory, but the lo mein wasn't as good as Panda Express, hence the step down comment. Also, if you tell them it's your first visit, you'll get free cream cheese wontons. Those suckers are simple, yet so addicting. I'll wonder if they'll recognize me next time I stop by? J/K. There's ample seating, although I do feel there's wasted space in front of the food warming trays and the dining tables. Perhaps an aquarium or some silk flowers placed inbetween to sprucen up the place? Unfortunately, even though Jumbo Wok recently opened, vagrants already vandalized the men's restroom. It's such a shame when a new business opens up, sparkling new, and some hooligans trash the place. Tragic. Anyhoo, all in all, I will definitely come back & get my cheap eats on at Jumbo Wok. A 2-item combo is a steal at $5.59. The restaurant is within walking distance to where I live & the cream cheese wontons are beckoning me with their cheesy/crunchy goodness.
