First off... I've been coming to this establishment for over 10 years. I love this place. Great selection, food is very tasty. One of my favorite things about this is the owner. She's extremely lovely. However I had a terrible experience which left a bad taste in my mouth... My GF and I ordered breakfast , we get the same thing every time . After 25 minutes, we see other tables that sat down after us already enjoying their food and we were still waiting for ours. I asked someone if you can just find out how much longer it's going to be... About three minutes later the owner comes out with our food and asked us if we need anything else and we said we're good... As I took the first bite of my thick French toast it was completely raw inside that I spat it out. Then I start ripping open the other pieces of French toast on my plate to find them all uncooked and raw inside... Yuck! When the owner came by to check on us, I said this is not edible. It's completely uncooked inside. And she said this dish takes longer to cook...and well you wanted your food right away so I brought it out to you. I then said..... I never wanted my food right away I just inquired how much longer it's gonna be. And then she tells me she knew it wasn't done yet, but she wanted to get it out to me because she thought I wanted it right away. I told her you KNEW this wasn't done and you still brought it out to me!!!! I said you can't knowingly bring out uncooked food. I'll get sick from this. I know this dish, I've had it so many times , I never waited this long for it and if I had to wait longer.....Then just tell me it's gonna be 5 more minutes or 10 more minutes, don't just bring me out raw uncooked food . I said I'll pass on this and you don't have to bring me anything else. Needless to say we were very disappointed. My girlfriend's eggs were runny , and her pancakes were undercooked as well, but she didn't want to say anything in the way the owner handled my meal. So unfortunately, we will never be going back to J.Java , I really don't want to get sick. I have been coming to this restaurant since 1998. I really love the owners. I am saddened to say though I was away and came back and they had changed some things that make me sad. I brought my friend and it made me sad. I have ordered the chicken lavash press since 1998. it's not the same. There was way less chicken, the lavash was different(it tasted different) and their Iced Tea changed. It was so bitter. the worst was the fries they were not edible. they were soggy and had zero flavor. It all has changed and of course it all went up too. I won't be coming back sadly. I was excited to try this place since every time my wife and I walked by we saw a lot of people dining here. The positive reviews also convinced me it was worth trying. The establishment is a cozy place along Ventura Blvd. The menu is extensive so there are plenty of options to choose from. I chose the Florentine omelette. On paper it sounded really good. Fresh sauteed spinach, tomatoes and mushrooms in a hollandaise sauce. Unfortunately, it was rather ordinary and very wet with the hollandaise sauce. Great foot, awesome service and an overall friendly neighborhood vibe. This was the first restaurant I tried when I moved into the neighborhood and I've been back many times since. The smoked salmon eggs benedict is sooooooo good. They also have very good non-breakfast items too. Their paninis are great - my favs are the filet mignon or the turkey and brie. Revisited for the first time in awhile and was greatly disappointed with the poor service. Sat for 20 minutes without any acknowledgement from the staff, then asked for a waiter/waitress 3x while watching them help other people that came in after me. Coffee is strong but I still liked it - I needed to ask for more milk because it was so dark and the milk I got was cold which made the latte cold. But that's my only complaint. Dairy milk alternatives are soy and almond. My friend and I shared the breakfast lavash which was basically a breakfast burrito meets panini and it was delicious. The homestyle potatoes on the side were also flavorful and yummy. We also split the nutella banana crepes which were also delicious. It was served with a nice side of fruits (banana, strawberry, blueberries, cantaloupe and raspberries)! I will definitely be back to try something else on their large menu! My wife and I love this little spot, we've come there for years and it doesn't disappoint. Over the weekend we went, my wife having the lavash breakfast wrap and I - well I passed a curveball to the chef as I love my Caviar Eggs Benedict but asked if they could do it over 3 biscuit halves. The chef was so sweet, she came out and asked if this is what I really wanted (6 biscuit halves) and I said yes. She looked at me stunned due to the size of the biscuits, bit in the end - she was right. The meals were delicious! In honesty where I say the chef was right.... I struggled with eating 5 of the biscuit halves along with Caviar benedict to which I forgot comes with smoked salmon, but Dang!!!!! It was really good! The chef came by to make certain everything was good and told us all about how long it took for her to perfect the biscuit recipe - They aren't just good, they're really great. She may evan offer the caviar benedict with biscuits in the future as an option - you'll have to ask. All of their food is great! read more

Went to brunch on 7/27/19. Referred by a friend. Extensive menu, and so many items looked appealing. Checked pics on Yelp, read reviews. I ordered the Italian Omelet, made with diced chicken, cheese and marinara sauce, sour dough toast and home potatoes. Not a fan of this type potatoes, preferring hash browns, but these were good. The omelet was really good. Sam ordered scrambled eggs with Paris toast. The Paris toast, french toast of a sort, was excellent. Server Minor was great as well as a second server, Alice (sorry for misspells.) This place will be a regular for us. Checked out a nearby table with amazing-looking pancakes; can't wait to order them, waffles, Paris toast, and several other items for this foodie. I absolutely love this place!! Went here for breakfast for my birthday and brought our pup- we sat outside and they brought out water for him and made sure we had lots of space. Everything you get here whether its the coffee or the egg sandwiches, is AMAZING! Love how quick everything came out too. So happy I chose to come here for my birthday breakfast! This place was great . They gave our dog water while we waited and they refilled our iced coffee too. Also in order to give the employees more hours during covid they're now open for dinner, and they even added things to the menu. We got the egg sandwich, vegan breakfast burrito, grilled eggplant panini, and Brie Mac and cheese. The breakfast burrito a little spicy also the Brie Mac and cheese has bacon it , so make sure to ask for no bacon if you don't like it. Overall this place was solid and will be back! read more

We've been to Jumpin Java the last couple Saturdays in a row and I felt it was time for an updated review. Their blueberry pancakes are the BEST blueberry pancakes I've had! They are absolute perfection and my favorite. The breakfast potatoes are also some of my favorite breakfast potatoes ever. The above two items, combined with the time we dine here (early) which allows for immediate seating wherever we'd like, the great service and music make this place a wonderful place to have breakfast. My boyfriend likes the French toast which is also very tasty. The menu is huge and while so many other items jump out at me I can't stop ordering the blueberry pancakes. I would however recommend they soften the butter just a tad before serving - it's always very cold and needs time to allow for proper meltage and spreading. Fantastic little spot! Great Breakfast and Lunch Option in Studio City Had the blubbery pancakes and crape with nautela and bananas. I know carb and sugar central right? The pancakes were perfect with plenty of blubbery's inside. The crapes were also very good with a a lot of tasty nautela and bananas. Both portions were BIG. The service was nice and attentive. It did take a minute for our food to come out but I was in no rush and enjoyed my coffee and the cars passing by on Ventura. So I thought this place was just okay. The decor was okay, the service was okay, the food was okay. It was just okay. To be honest I probably didn't order "the best" thing on the menu, but my food was still ordinary. I got the veggie crepe. I was trying to be healthy and got a side of fruit instead of the potatoes. The crepe was lacking in any sort of flavor. The insides were all falling apart so it felt like I ate the crepe first and then the filling. It was very uneventful. My boyfriend got the same style and he was having trouble with it too. My mom got pancakes which were actually pretty good and my stepdad got a falafel sandwich which he thought was good too. So this place is probably a hit or miss. A hit would be the pancakes and Mediterranean food. And a miss might be everything else. It's also a pretty small place. Tables and booths are very close to each other. And there are some tables out in the hallwayish very close to the exit and the wall. So some awkward seating. Also the table that we were particularly in (inside bearding towards the back) was very loud since it's very close to the kitchen. So we heard a lot of pots and pan noise. The food also felt like it took a while to get to us. I was looking up at some points to see if our food was coming. Also one of the waiters was kind of mocking our healthy swap of fruit for potatoes and it made me feel a tad bit uncomfortable. Parking is a madhouse. It's a small place on Ventura Blvd and there are maybe 6 spots in the back parking Would I come here again? Um there are other places I would rather try first before coming here again read more

Jumping Java has my heart! This place is great! The customer service is on point. It gets really busy but it's understandable because the service is wonderful and the food is yummy! Smoke salmon on a bagel is probably my favorite. Strawberry cream cheese French toast is fluffy and comforting. Cinnamon kiss is a dream. Egg Benedict's and their potatoes are a must if your seeking a hefty meal. I can go on. The negative is parking but their is meter parking, valet and or you can park at a plaza at the corner and walk which isn't so bad because you might need it after devouring a nice meal! It was incredibly scrumptious without being too sweet. The bacon is something special - thick, smoked, and flavorful. Also got the Louisiana Hash which, again, wasn't too heavy. Allowing you to really scoff without feeling gross. This has been our solid weekend go to Breakfast or Brunch spot since 1999! Can't say i've ever had a bad meal here. In fact, the food is always excellent, well prepared, great portions and the service is top notch. If you're lucky to be there on a day when Sona, the chef, is walking around - say hello and make a friend with a fantastic lady. So I've been here once before and enjoyed the food so I decided to come back today to have brunch with my daughter and a friend. The food is here is ok, but this review is about the blatant disregard for safety and concern for my 3 year old daughter. I requested a booster seat which I got. The chairs here are made out of wood while the booster seat is plastic with no plastic stoppers or velcro to create some friction on the bottom of the booster. This doesn't create any security for any child sitting in this booster and there were no security straps attached to the booster that could fasten around the wooden chair. Again, providing no security for my child or any child. As my daughter reached for the last of her pancakes, she abruptly falls 4 feet, hitting the back of her head and elbow on the hard concrete BARELY missing the concrete edge that's sticking out! The ONLY condolence the owner had was to give her a bag of ice and to say "I did tell you to be careful." WTF?? Really?? Why not make your booster seats SAFER for children!! She (the owner) didn't even offer us the option of our meal free! Needless to say, I went straight to St Jospeh's Hospital in Burbank. The bruising on her head and elbow has gotten worst and my daughter is STILL complaining of pain even now! I'm writing this at 8:15pm! I'll never eat here ever again! If you do, bring your kids at your own risk, since they aren't willing to be concerned for your child's safety. read more

I love this place so much it makes my heart hurt! This family owned, Studio City gem is the perfect breakfast and lunch spot. I've tried several items on the menu, but have currently been stuck on the breakfast lavash with sausage. It's like a magically flaky breakfast burrito. My wife is a tiny human. So, I get half of whatever she orders in addition to my dish. With that, I've really enjoyed the pancakes (huge!), traditional bacon and eggs and the burger is fantastic too! The portions are large, the service is amazing and the owners and family are all truly lovely people. read more

We had one of the most delicious breakfast from Jumpin Jave this morning. My Husband and I have always loved going there in Sunday's and meeting friends and family there for lunch. But because of Covid-19, we haven't gone. I'm sooooo grateful we ordered for pick up today. Their SUPER safe and professional, and I felt really safe ordering from them. Unfortunately that's not true for many of our old favorites before Covid. So I'm happy to highly recommend eating there or ordering for pickup like we did.
